Hi Hot Pink...I just read your post about your knee still giving you trouble. I don't think I ever saw what the cause of your problem was, but just by coincidence, I had a friend go to the hospital a few days ago with swollen knee and elbow and they could not figure a cause. They suspected an infection, so began treating for that, but they did take a biopsy and gram stain of the area. They were going to go to surgery to open up the area and 'wash it out'. Come to find out, she had developed gout. I was shocked - I thought people only got gout in their big toe. Anyway, a week later, and with the proper meds, she is doing very well. Just thought I would pass that on in case that would be something for you to consider. Of course, if you are suffering from a injury, couldn't be of much help then. Hope you get better soon! |

gommie, I haven't read through the entire day's posts but what I have read sounds as if Lamar is not doing so well - geez, I'm so sorry! We have such high hopes for the little guy and still praying for improvement. It is hot down there today? It's really stiffling up here and quite muggy - I am going out to pick some apples right now, but I hope when I get back, you will have come back with some good or encouraging news. Bow, wows from Murphy too! |

Hi, Eppy - I was attacked last year by my son's girlfriend's mother who was very drunk at the time. My left knee was totally crushed and my left leg broken in three places. Had to have a total knee replacement several months later because my leg was severely crooked. The knot on the side of my knee and the numbness occurred after the knee replacement. Since my current doctor says he can't do anything about it, I'll be seeing another doctor in a couple of weeks to get a 2nd opinion. The knot and side of my knee and leg are numb, though the area surrounding the knot hurts a lot when you touch it. I also keep having very sharp pains in the knot. And, there are times when I lose sensation where the knot is and nearly fall. I'm certainly not against another operation if that is what it will take to fix the problem (whatever it is). Wow, I've never heard of gout in other places other than the big toe either. I'm so glad your friend is doing okay now! Thanks for your concern and good wishes. |

Quote HOT PINK: OMG, what a witch!! I hope to hell she now realizes the extent of what she did to you, but that doesn't do you much good even if she does. The numbness surely does sound as if a nerve is involved and a neurologist is the one who could give you some answers - and treatment, I HOPE!! I have some nerve damage in my left calf and bottom of my foot from a damaged nerve in my spine. The pain is what really knocks ya out tho. Hope all goes well at the doctor's.
