Quote Lilamoor:
Quote messy cook: Good evening ladies. I'm finally getting around to posting again. I slept a lot yesterday, and ended up going to bed pretty early too. We went and visited my mom today. The nursing home had a family day. They grilled hamburgers, and hot dogs and had all kinds of other goodies. There was a country western band there playing too. Everyone had a good time. I know it's probably expensive for the nursing home to put these events on, they don't charge anybody for eating, but I wish they'd do stuff like this more often. The residents at the nursing home have such a good time when something special is going on. They had planned on having the food served outside like a picnic but the heat and humidity were just too much today.
On another note, my 16 year old had her first accident today. Hubby was in a panic of course. She called and said.. I had an accident, BUT IT WASN'T MY FAULT! She wanted us to come and be with her because she was scared. We jumped in the car and found her. She was right, it wasn't her fault, a guy in a truck swerved into her lane and hit her. No one was hurt, and her car wasn't hurt too much, its a tank, but it still shook her up. The guy was driving without a valid licence, it was suspended, but he did have insurance. I'll bet his fine is huge.
All in all its been a very interesting day so far.

Wow messy~~you have had an eventful day. I am so glad your daughter wasn't hurt.
I truly wish my 19 yr old second cousin had been so lucky. They think now he may have had a brain anerism as he has a lot of blood on the brain, and that may have caused his sudden plunge over the cliff. He is 98% likely to be a parapeligic, which is better than what they first thought as a quad. And he is being weaned off life support. But it is still touch and go, and we still are just praying that God just do whatever is best. And for my cousin and her husband, as this is their only child, and a really good young man too.

It's never easy when your kids start driving. This is our fourth time at it but I still get nervous. Kids just don't get it that even if they are good drivers, that doesn't mean the other guy is. I'm so sorry for your cousin and his family. That must be so hard on everyone. At least his condition has improved. God can do miracles, just keep praying.

He can~~I know that~~ but they are 500 miles away, and I just talked to my cousin's husband on the phone, and it makes me feel so helpless. Praying is a lot to do for someone, but sometimes you just want to give them a hug too. It is so hard just to talk on the phone, cuz it has to be short, as they don't have a lot of time, and so many people want that time. It's just sickening, I worry for my cousin too, as her health is not the greatest either.

That would be hard, to be so far away. Does she have any family that live closer? I'll be sure to say a prayer for her too.

There is family that lives close. It's just that they themselves are at a hospital that far away. It is the best hospital and he was taken there for treatment. They of corse are staying there. Her parents are past. And the family is close,(not in distance to the hospital but to each other, but can't be there always, as they have families they have to take care of to. But there are people there to help.

Quote mamabing15: Hot pink well i was wrong the rain we were going to get it must have gone some where else,we got a little yesterday morning for about 15min.and that was it,it's supposed to rain until tuesday the weatherman sure doesn't know what he's talking about because it is a furnace out there and the humidity is enough to choke you.it's 7:00pm and it is 98 out.

mamabing15 = You're right about weathermen not knowing what their talking about a lot of the time. Drives me nuts! I was hoping it would rain and cool things off for you. Sorry! Hope you are doing well this evening. I have T.A. with me tonight because Thomas didn't want to have to wake him at 5 am to get to the hospital by 6. My mom is going to pick us up later and take us to the hospital so we can be there for the delivery, which is good because I've promised T.A. pancakes for breakfast!

messy cook - Glad you got some rest and that you had a good time at the Nursing Home with your mom today. It is nice of them to do special things like that for their charges and families. I'm so glad and relieved your daughter wasn't hurt in the accident. Bless her heart - I know how scared she must have been. At least that guy will probably be off the road for a long time to come; that should teach him that he shouldn't drive without a valid license!

Lilamoor - I've been thinking about and praying for your cousin. I'm so sorry about his prognosis, but glad it's better than they first thought. Please tell your cousin and her husband we are praying for their son and for them.

mamabing15 - I hope you're right. When I was induced with my first son, I was in labor about 5 hours and spent the last 2 hours trying to push (after wanting to push the first time, I didn't want to do it anymore!). I will definitely give Thomas & Amanda your best (and will give T.A. a hug & kiss for you, too). I'll let you know sometime tomorrow how things went. Don't know if I'll be able to post much before I head over to the hospital with T.A. and my mom.

Hot pink ~~~I think we are all excited for you and your family~~~ we'll be watching for your news.

I have to tell you all something kinda ironic~~~~that came to mind last nite~~~I'm not sure why only last night~~~ but the mind works rather strangely.
About six or seven years ago I wrote a romance novel, The heronie had a car accident while pregnant, went into a coma, had to have the baby by ceasarean, still didn't come out of the coma, her significant other named the baby girl Faith and of corse the book ends happily as romances do. However last night for some reason this came to mind, and I though OMG they stole my story. And I never even got the book published. I tried once at Harlequin~~~but it was turned down~~and even though another company told me in written words "you have written a Harlequine" and encouraged me to continue "pushing" it there I never did. I gave it to a friend about three years ago to do some editing, but we never have gotten together over it. I just put it on my back burner, and suddenly last night it came to mind. Sometimes ~~~~~

Hi gommie - hope you get some encouraging news at the vet. I thought of LaMr all weekend. Was this the weekend of the County Fair? If so, did you go and spend any time there. How did you do with the photos. Yes, I am still cleaning out unwanted and unused stuff for the garage sale. What doesn't sell, we usually send to the Rancho deLos Animales for the Handicapped for their thrift sales. Rancho deLos Animales is a ranch where for one thing they have horses where the handicapped can ride and have a great experience. Hope everyone has a great week. Looking forward to news about the new baby, Hot Pink.

Hi Eppy- Lamar has been a little better the last two days- not quite so weak-the vet thinks there may have been a mistake in his blood work so we have to have it redone today-his eye looks a little better but not much-thanks for thinking of him-I'll keep you posted-the fair begins on July 30th-we spent all Saturday getting the photos entered- had to have thee of them reprinted as Cinderella left her tracks on them when she was nosing around them-but its done now--
Great Org. you are donating to what you don't sell...You sound like you are making a dent-- I am somewhat inspired..thank God I can't use my wrist that much just yet Or I might be doing the same.....lord knows I need to.......
You getting stronger?
