My sauce is 3/4 cup ketchup, 2 tsp red wine vinegar, 1 clove minced garlic and 1 tsp. barbecue seasoning. You let that sit while you saute 1 lb. of boneless chicken breast cut into small pieces (sprinkled with a little salt & black pepper). When done, drain and put into a large bowl. Add 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion, 2 chopped tomatoes (small) and 1/2 tsp of the barbecue seasoning and stir well. If you like sliced mushrooms, you can add as many as you like. Add 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese and save another 1/2 or so for top. Take 1 can crescent rolls (I use the large size) and press the dough evenly onto an ungreased baking sheet. Spread the sauce over the pizza, to with chicken, onion & tomato mixture and sprinkle cheese evenly over top. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for about 20-22 minutes. Slice and serve! I don't make it often but when I do it disappears like magic! If you like pineapple, I'll bet it might be good to put a few small chunks on it as well. Amanda was feeling okay, I think, but she looks very tired. They were going to see her dad for a while this evening. I hope you are doing well this evening and that Lamar is feeling better! |

Quote messy cook: Hello all, the little one is down, so I have a chance to catch up. Thanks to all who suggested we contact my son-in laws comanding officer. I will tell Angie to look into that. Gommie, poor Lamar, he must have been so scared stuck behind that desk. If CHF is anything in dogs like it is for people it is very hard to deal with. My dad passed away from it, and my mom has it too. Your story about Cin wanting food like Lamars is funny. Dogs are such good communicators. My husband didn't realize that until we got Cookie. Even after 13 years he is amazed how she lets her wishes be known. And he used to think dogs just understood a few command words and that's all, but now he sees me telling Cookie something and she goes and does it. She understands a lot of what I say, and he just can't believe it. Hi MessyCook- I just laugh at your posts-I remember those days so well when my oldest granddaughter was little starting at about 6 months-she would come 1 week every month and stay with us,without the parents Yes have her contact his commander -they do not tolerate this kind of behavior..PERIOD...... Yes, we felt so bad and that it took so long to locate him and then get him out- it must have been a good 20 minutes we spent trying after we discovered where he was---I'm sleeping down stairs with him tonight-I know from the panting that he is now doing that he has moved into the next stage of the disease-at least from what I have found online-I just don't what to expect-I will not have him suffer with pain-which he is not--but I am afraid he might suffocate..I imagine it is no different than it is for humans-- my vet said he hopes he will pass in his sleep-that would be better than the alternative..but we don't want to lose him in any fashion. Dogs are very communicative and you are right -they understand every thing you say to them!!-Cinderella has joint tablet I give her each morning- we've been doing this for 6 maybe 9 months-they are tasty too- but this past week she has decided she no longer wants it--I usually just motion for her to come to me and she comes and I give her the tab and she takes it with no problem- except this last week-- so I have to deliver it to her and she just looks at me-- I lay it on the rug and walk over to the sink and she is still looking at me-- I point my finger at her and tell her you take that pill...she puts her head down so she can't see me, then, she will look up again-LOL about the third time I tell her, you take that pill and my finger moves a little faster- she looks at me and takes the pill............she knows exactly what I am saying........ How was your bbq tonight? What are the plans for tomorrow? |

I agree with everyone about your daughter contacting your son-in-law's Commanding Officer. I shudder to think what else he might try to get away with if something isn't done. I hope your daughter has gotten a lawyer to help her. If she can't afford one, please tell her to check with Legal Aid and ask what they can do to help her. She may be able to get legal advice free of charge, depending on the assistance programs that are available where she lives. Also, please tell her NOT to let that creep get her down; he may say and do things that are very hurtful. But, tell her not to get discouraged or let him get away with anything. My ex said and did everything he could to make me feel inadequate and useless, which was his nasty way of making himself feel better. I don't ever want your daughter to go through anything like that! I hope she will stand up to that man and let him know she is strong and can't be hurt by his actions. It will be hard and I know there will be times when she wants to give up; but for her and her children's sakes she can't! And, with the love and support from you, your husband and the rest of your family, she will come out of this a better, stronger person! Sorry, I didn't mean to preach! I just want to let your daughter she has love and support from me and all of the ladies here, too! Please give her my best when you talk to her again! Hope the barbecue was a great success tonight! Bet you had lots of GREAT food! Speaking of food - is there any way you can overnight one of your delicious pies to me? |

Quote gommie: So so sad Uggerly-their lives will never be the same- so tragic How are you doing today? Yes Gommie, this young man 45 yrs. was very successful and had married his high school sweetheart, and he went to school with my kids.Hi Mom and I went to school together, and so did our kids, and Grand kids! But, his wife left him and then he lost his job. I think he had been drinking a lot, because she had a new man in her life. So, his parents are un consolable and will be, for a long time to come.We try to keep in touch, but let them call if they need something. They really don't need anything, just consoling. I did get a little smile though, when I heard the story about Cinn and the food. That is the cutest thing! I could just see her doing it, and looking at you.Our little Itty does that. She will come and get one of us, and keep looking back, like"Hurry up!".LOL.. |

This kind of thing is so devastating..it is so heartbreaking to think that a person can reach such a low point in their lives that that they feel they have no value to anyone-that kind of pain has to be monumental- they rather die than face it each day- that poor guy -the agony he must have gone through-such a feeling of worthlessness I would imagine..so damn sad..........his poor family and all who knew and loved him...)-; You are a good friend to know when to be there- and help when and how you can... The funny thing about Cin is she has always stood back-Lamar has until the last year or two when he got really sick done all the talking and made the demands for them- Cinderella has pretty much sat back and let him do the negotiating...believe me he was a great negotiator--but now she knows he is sick and if she wants something she has to do the asking b/c he no longer cares..landed her in a real predicament..but she is a real quick study-Lamar would always bark at us when he needed something- she won't bark-but gosh her paws are huge and when she hits me upside the leg with one,it hurts........LOL |
