I wonder what would happen if we started a chit chat thread- we used to have one in the old days- it was nice...I guess we'll see if we can get by with one again...

gommie- I think that's a great idea! Since I'm home all day recovering from ankle surgery, I get pretty lonely. It would nice to be able to chat with people (my right thumb gets tired changing channels all day long).

Hi bolin- sorry about your ankle- I hope your recovery is not going to be too long-Not sure if we will be able to keep it but its worth a try- I always liked the chit chat thread- and getting acquainted with the other posters in a less hostile environment-things are not nearly as strict here as they once were- so let's hope...

OK, for all you posters who are 40+: What sucks about getting older? I say, wrinkles, weight gain, and "the change!"

I honestly don't remember worrying about those kinds of things at 40- I had bigger issues..I was raising teenagers!!

Wow! 4 girls! Your hubby must be overwhelmed by estrogen! LOL!

I'm 48, going thru menopause (total hysterectomy at 43). Talk about mood swings! The hubby is afraid to speak. I have two boys, 28 and 26. Grown and OUT OF MY HOUSE!

bolin: Sorry to hear about your surgery. Get well soon!

Happy Mothers Day to all you wonderful women. Cheers! Mimosa's for all.

LOL..now my teenagers are raising teenagers and it is so interesting to have them come to us and 'apologize' for their behavior as teens and ask us why we allowed them to live...LOL --I have five grandchildren all girls, three are teenagers and the youngest, twin girls, 2 in October-I don't know what the fuss is all about with older girls-we think they are perfect and have no trouble with them at all..LOL ..

Happy Mother's Day and Grandmother's Day to everyone......

Thanks, gommie and mamabing15 - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU, TOO! I should find out how my ankle is tomorrow when I go for my post surgery check-up. I'll let you know! I like being able to chat with other posters as well and getting to know folks from other faraway places.

I'm a little older than 40 (okay quite a few years older - my 23-year old son has always told me I'm as old as the dinosaurs, and his 27 year old brother agrees). My 23 year-old has an adorable 18-month old son (my first grandchild and the light of my life) and has a baby girl due in July (I'm looking forward to having my first girl to spoil). It's wonderful to be a grandmother: When I have him to myself, I can talk to him all the time without being interrupted, spoil him rotten, teach him something new and fun, then I can send him home with his parents and relax!

Good luck bolin- hope it is good news the best time of all with grandchildren is when 'the parents' are missing..that when the fun really begins-
