Nikki isn't "real" either; she became a Newman the same way Phyllis and Sharon did, by marriage. |

Nikki may be a lot of things but while married to Victor and other she has always dressed classy and acted the same. |

I think that Nikki and Vicki were in character with how they've been treating Phyllis lately, and perhaps Phyllis' apparent lack of backbone was due to stress, mourning, lack of sleep or all of the above. Maybe it actually got some sympathy for P from all of her usual despisers. N&V are kicking P while she's down. |

Then, I wish to address the above posting.... Yes, I truly believe Nikki was being overly obnoxious. I don't see that she has ever even accepted her granddaughter. But, I did see flashes of sympathy in Vicki's face. I think it appeared that she wanted things a little more somberly appropriate, but I don't think she was attempting to be an angry put-down to Phyllis. And truly Phyllis and Vicki are the two women suffering the most. Vicki is lost, but Phyllis and Victor are suffering devastation. This scene made me feel uncomfortable. How difficult for Phyllis to stand up for her rights when she has no strength left. I think her inappropriate attempts where just that, the only attempts she had the strength to muster up. All she can think of is their short life together and what they shared as fun. We must keep in mind they did not have the time to build the solid marriage and were still in the beginning stages, the fun part of the marriage before it becomes a day to day life. So, as a result that is the only thing she can reach out and grasp. How many of us wouldn't want to return to that part of our marriages and stay there forever???? |

Nikki doesnt give a rats behind about the wife(s) of Nick..she never has..always treats them like dirt..why is it surprising? because her son is dead? not to me...i knew it would make her more.."catty" towards the current wife that did some dirty deeds towards the family. |

They may be the Newmans but she is Nick's wife and their grand-dauhgter's mother,treat her with respect in her hour of grief. I have seen this behavior in real life and i hurt for those who went through it. |

Well Nikki was treating Phyllis with respect prior to her wedding shower when she found out that Phyllis knew about Sharon and Brad....Then she changed her colors... She really liked Phyllis as her daughter in law and was very accepting of her.... Nikki said to Phyllis that she was happy she married Nick, because she made Nick smile....Then in walks Victoria and all hell broke loose and like a coin flip.... Nikki's attitude toward Phyllis changed. |

Victor and Nikki built the Newman family together...from the ground up with their bare hands so to speak. They have always looked upon themselves as the upper echelon and no one is fit to marry either of their children (except Ryan). They have been like this from the very beginning and I don't think they will ever change. The Newman family motto should be "Blood is thicker than water unless the blood becomes weak." They've been stabbing each other in the back for years but they forgive each other because they're family. Now if an outsider did the same thing they'd have hell to pay. Look how Sharon was ostracized...now Phyllis...Brad's on his way out too. I could go back to the beginning of the Newman empire and list all the ways they've done each other wrong (at one point Nikki was going to help Jack usurp Victor). She was forgiven because..well Victor has always regarded her as his wife...she's family so all's forgiven. It's their way...and obviously that ain't changing... |
