When a man OR woman is not getting what they need at home, they stray. It's human nature. I love his character now - he is much more happy and alive than he was in that disasterous marriage he was trapped in for 10 years - 5 infidelities between the two of them in 10 years tells the story! Short and to the point! Agreed! |

There's less dialogue between all the characters because the writing team likes action more than words, but just think in the old days you could miss the show for days and you wouldn't miss anything - not that way anymore. I like Nick just fine the way he is, especially in the last few days. I like his conversations with his sister, his parents, his wife and his ex-wife. I think Nick Newman has his head on his shoulders and is a good soul, how this happened with his parents is almost a miracle.  YOU ARE A GENIUS! Exactly how I feel.... I hope we get what we want and it's not some twisted plot out of the "Twilight Zone" that they throw our way... YIKES..

Phyllis even has Nick betraying his own mother One should not conveniently overlook what his mother did to his wife on his wedding day. Talk about grounds for betrayal.....in spades. Nikki has turned into a reprehensible character - with none of the charm that her mentor, Victor, exerts. She has become ruthless - with no redeeming virtue, but self-interest. She deserves being betrayed - as you phrased it. Nikki's cynical behavior is beginning to bore me and it doesn't complement in any way... if you know what I mean!

I respectfully disagree with your interpretation of whatever Sharon did not being "enough". He was in total despair and full of guilt for allowing Cassie to go out that night after she had been grounded. Phyllis seized upon the opportunity.Anyone who has lost someone tragically knows that sorrow can overtake you and skew your sense of judgement. I don't think it's "human nature" to "stray"...if that were true, the divorce rate would be much higher than it is! The first four infidelities between this married couple did not involve the death of a child......... I know that you've posted REPEATEDLY that there were5 infidelities in 10 years, but that has nothing to do with my post. I am writing about what happened as a result of Cassie's death. I have posted "Repeatedly" that they have had 5 infidelities in 10 years because others have posted "repeatedly" what a fabulous couple Nick and Sharon were and how wonderful their marriage was and how they should be reunited. I am simply pointing out that the first four times they comitted adultery had nothing to do with the death of a child - it had to do with the loveless marriage they were trapped in and the fact that they were totally bored with each other. I think that to blame the end of their marriage on Cassie's death is unrealistic - this marriage was over long before Cassie died. The trust in this marriage died long before Cassie. I've been watching for years and of course Soap writers will always write in lies, infidelities, blackmail, and even death. With that being said, who cares about what they've done to each other in the past...they still are in love!!! This indeed happens in life, and needs to continue happening in Soapland. People often think they are "not in love" anymore and soon realize the grass isn't greener on the other side! I think Nick and Sharon have more chemistry and even though she may not be as "exciting" as Phyllis, he loves her because she is a wonderful, caring mother and not to mention drop dead gorgeous. Just my opinion. Please writers, LET THEM FALL BACK IN LOVE...and make Nick have to CHASE her!!! I think their [Sharon & Nick's} chemistry is dead... unless, like I said, he comes back with insomnia due to some traumatic head injury in the plane crash (just speculating, that's all I can do at this point). Who knows, we'll see. But I love Nick and Phyllis together.. They are much more exciting together, I believe.
