That's Victor, NOT Nick. Nick said he didn't want to be Victor Newman 2.0. He wants to be his own man, NOT just ride on his daddy's coattails. |

Quote ILuvNY: In my opinion, this is a perfect opportunity for the writers to bring the old Nick back. Here's a man who saw the error of his father's ways and turned him into the authorities, but didn't even bat an eye over the fact that his wife blackmailed people, caused his mom to lose a seat at NE, started an arguement which caused Dru's demise and let Sharon take the fall for it when the pictures were revealed. I don't understand why the writers took a character who was strong enough morally to bring down his own father, but just looks the other way when his present wife has done so many people wrong...bring back the old, strong, moral Nick Newman! I agree...I hope they do somethin with this character because he is beyond lame. |

Sharon was cheating on Nick long before Brad. Let's not forget Diego and Cameron. It would have been Victor too but Victor said NO!! And Phyllis wasn't Nick's first affair...let's not forget Grace,Sharon's "friend", whom Nick cheated with on the night of his college graduation. And there were others, too. I truly doubt that she would have slept with Victor! If you remember the scene, there was absolutely no indication that she was looking for sex! In my opinion, Nick isn't his own man..he follows Phyllis around in a stupor and doesn't seem to have a thought of his own. |

She and Phyllis are so much alike in their scheming and plotting ways..Grace also uses her sexuality to get what she wants. Maybe they'll form an alliance and become the evil empire |

Grace returns with Nick's baby?(my opinion) it is getting ridiculous. Take Phyllis out, shoves Grace in? What is the point? Unless Grace is in with Nick's baby? Or Grace is in to team up with Phyllis to take Newman's down? |

Nick did not want his mother to have the seat on the board because he knew she would vote against the Clear Springs project. Phyllis did not let Sharon take the fall for the accident - she and Nick watched the video and Phyllis stated that it was an accident. He was not acceptant of the blackmail - but he loves Phyllis enough to forgive her for her wrong doings. Nick is more of a man now than he has ever been. I love his character now - he is much more happy and alive than he was in that disasterous marriage he was trapped in for 10 years - 5 infidelities between the two of them in 10 years tells the story! |

Phyllis even has Nick betraying his own mother One should not conveniently overlook what his mother did to his wife on his wedding day. Talk about grounds for betrayal.....in spades. Nikki has turned into a reprehensible character - with none of the charm that her mentor, Victor, exerts. She has become ruthless - with no redeeming virtue, but self-interest. She deserves being betrayed - as you phrased it. |

Quote ILuvNY: Quote tennislover: One of the reasons Nick forgave Phyllis for the blackmail is because HE knows she did it for him so does Victor and Victor said so. Clear Springs was going to be co-headed by Nick and Phyllis. In addition, Nick told his mother Clear Springs was a chance to secure a future for his kids and win respect from his father. Phyllis tried to make that happen for her husband. That'a heck of a lot better than a wife who cheats on him and abandons him and her kids. Forgive Phyllis, you bet he did! After all Phyllis is NOT the one who slept with his sister's husband. A secure future for his kids? Victor is a billionaire and his children are heirs to that fortune. Also, Nick slept with Phyllis multiple times before Sharon slept with Brad ONCE! And, no,Phyllis didn't sleep with her brother-in-law...she slept with a man who was in total grief over the loss of his daughter, as was his wife. When an unspeakable grief such as this happens, sometimes it's difficult to share it with those who are the closest to you..if you've suffered something like this you know what I'm talking about! As far as Nick is concerned, many posters have stated that he is totally boring...he was much stronger before his sex induced stupor, IMO! He seemed to have a great moral compass which is, at present, non-existent, as evidenced by the fact that he didn't bat an eye at all of the damage that his wife's blackmailing caused. I guess you see it through your prism - and I see it through mine and never the twain shall meet. |

You state as a fact something not in evidence....just wishful thinking..."when Nick and Phyllis reunite." That's like saying "when my ship comes in, I will do such and such." And, in my opinion, it has as much validity. |

Iam glad that Nikki turned Phyllis in. This will open Nick's eyes and has his brain surgery for a change to be old Nick! |

The important thing is he comes back. There's less dialogue between all the characters because the writing team likes action more than words, but just think in the old days you could miss the show for days and you wouldn't miss anything - not that way anymore. I like Nick just fine the way he is, especially in the last few days. I like his conversations with his sister, his parents, his wife and his ex-wife. I think Nick Newman has his head on his shoulders and is a good soul, how this happened with his parents is almost a miracle. |
