I couldn't disagree more. I think Jack and Phyllis are horrible as a couple. They bring out the worst in each other. They seemed to excel at stabbing each other in the back. I can see them as friends and defintely as enemies. The fact they Nick and Phyllis are so different is one of the reasons their relationship WORKS. Nick is more laid back, calmer, more patient. Phyllis is high strung, combative, confrontational, etc. just like Jack.
The scene when Phyllis told Nick about the blackmail spoke volumes about Philis love for Nick. All Nick had to do was look at Phyllis with disgust and disappointment to reduce her to mush. Jack could have bellowed at her for weeks and she would have just yelled back and wouldn't have cared that much. Nick is Red's great love and he is good for her. Jack I think is a better match for Sharon. He needs a wife he can take care of, and that IS NOT Phyllis.

I just find it hard to believe people think Nick and Phyllis are soulmates and that he's much more in love with her than he ever was with Sharon. Because believe me he had no doubts about marrying Sharon despite knowing she had a child, he was young and probably wanted to settle down (which is uncommon these days), but he had doubts about marrying Phyllis after finding out about the blackmail.

But then again some of us are saying he only he stayed with Sharon for so long because of the kids I guess that's what he's doing with Phyllis because he "thinks" he's Summer's father.

The writers have control over the characters lives...One minute they are divorced hating each other and the next minute they are back in each others arms... This is the way it is with soaps.... We need to enjoy whats happening now because at any given time things will change.....

I do hate Phyllis....not really .. I love her.... I love her nerve, her conniving ways, her evilness She is the character that I love to hate...because I do not like the things she does..but she does them so well.

When she is with Nick, we see the softer side of Phyllis... I was converted.... I am now kind of liking Phyllis with Nick... I can see the love between them when they are together.... It took me a long time to reach this point..but I am there... I am not saying that Phyllis and Jack werent' good together because they were....Their business sense was more closely matched...but they lacked the passion we see with Nick and Phyllis.

:| Sometimes I think Phyllis is so naive and gullible, she would believe anything you told her. She is like here today and not here tomorrow. Does she have ADD? How can she do as well as she does with such a short attention span?

Phyllis is very insecure, when she hurt Jack this last time, she realized that it was a deep hurt. I think if Sharon and Nick get back together, it will be the push she needs to go right back to Jack. Phyllis only changes in front of Nick, she is a different person with Jack and everyone else. With Jack she can be her true self, no marriage is going to make it if you will never be the person your spouse want. Your spouse will accept you "as you are" IF they truly love you. That is why Phyllis/Nick wont make it and Sharon/Jack wont make it. You cant change cause someone else wants you to ~ only if you want too yourself ~ and Phyllis doesnt want to chagne or she wouldnt have pulled the blackmail stunt. And if she gets by with it, what's going to stop her from doing it again NOTHING! A lepoard never changes its spots Just my opinion!

One thing people need to remember and it's BIG. The writers who wrote Y&R for the past 30 years are ALL GONE.

Mr. Bell died. Jack Smith and Kay Alden were FIRED. If the honchos at Y&R wanted to continue writing the show the way Smith and Alden wrote it, they would have kept Smith and Alden. They didn't! Jack and Phyllis and Nick and Sharon were Jack Smith's creations. The new regime has to make their own mark and they can't do that by doing the same thing the former writers did.
