Quote Daisy Jane: Quote Collett: I'm sorry but that was such a stupid way to bring Phillip III back to the show. They could have easily tested Phillip IV for HD without Phillip III, you either have it or not. It's only passed down through a parent and if Phillip IV had it and Nina didn't then it had to be Phillip III. But since he didn't have it then what did he have? They never said, Nina was so worried and now that they found out that Phillip III didn't have HD nothing. Isn't that the reason that Chance left the military? So if his symptoms were so bad that he couldn't be in the military then how can he be a cop? Chance didn't want to be tested, he was too scared. So, the next option was the remains of PC3. I don't think he left the military due to illness. His tour was up. After he returned home, he decided not to go back. I don't remember him being scared. Was he scared of the test or the results. I can't imagine anyone in the military being scared of a blood test. If it was the results then why was he so anxious for his dad to be tested. Either way the s/l was just plain stupid. And all of this was just to find out that Phillip III faked his death because he was gay. |

You don't dig up a a entire casket to test someone for a gene when the adult man is too wimpy to just get tested himself. MAb showed how much of a mess her writing is with this story. ALl the mags blasted her and dubed the story the most poposterous story of the year. It all made no sense and was totally unnecessary. That had to be the most ridiculous rewrite EVER! I somewhat agree, from what I remember HD is nasty. Until several years ago this might have made sense but now they can check for genetic markers. There is also testing of this sort done on parents and it might make a little sense as if he tested + he would be uninsurable , but all that would assume he he had symptoms. One would think they didn't just disappear. Ridiculous reason to dig up a body. HD is a very sad disease both my father and my aunt died from it. I can understand why the testing would be scary as there is no cure for it. If you have a parent with HD then you have a 50% chance of having it, it doesn't skip generations. I know this is kind of off topic but when I first heard the s/l it really caught my attention then there was nothing else said about it. It's kind of upsetting that they would write something like this into the story and not educate the viewers on it like they do with cancer, etc. |

I'm not sure if he's the one that wanted his father's body exhumed and tested. It may have just been Nina's choice. I remember she was at the estate and after Jill and Kay left the room. She secretly made a phone call making arrangements to have PC3's body exhumed. |

In the past, Bill Bell did a wonderful job writing stories and educating at the same time. They were more realistic, too. |

Written word is so hard to express true feeling. I remember HD from class as the worst thing one could have. I agree with you that there should have been some education. My point was only that it seemed that in order for them to suspect HD he must have had symptoms or suspected family history and since he appears to have no mention of either now that they picked a poor choice of diseases to exhume a body for. My prayers go out to you & your family as HD effects everyone. |

He didn't re-up, but did join the PD, sometimes medical conditions prevent this from even happening (joining the any PD, even a desk job at the PD)...I'd just like to know what the gift of a watch that was stolen from the Chancellor place has to do with Chance's and what that's all about...did the B/E have something to do with his leaving the Military and joining the PD replacing Det. Gil, who has never been seen again??? Hummm, I wonder... |

Seems to me Nina said she did not tell Chance about the illness because he was in service and she didn't want to upset him. Never heard he was to scared. |
