Ideally Lily would have her hair and look like she normally does, but that is not the reality of cancer. Many women with cancer are bald either by choice of shaving and/or by losing their hair through the chemo. So if we had a view of these individuals in their most intimate moments with their husband or boyfriend, how would they look? I can understand how this may have looked to you, but for me I saw the beauty of the situation and the fact that this man could look beyond the hair and just love his wife for the person that she is. I knew a young lady that was burned terribly at an eary age. Her face and whole body was disfigured as a child. Later on she had a baby and I was just amazed and happy to know that someone could look beyond her physical appearance. Cane and Lily making love to me sent a very important message for women going through what Lily is going through. Lily needed to know as Cane told her that she was beautiful still to him and that he loves her unconditionally. |

Sorry to disappoint you, but Lily really looks cute with that bald head. She is rocking that "bald look" and enjoying that "bald love" of Cane. That used to be a look in the sixties where women shaved their heads and really rocked the bald look and they did not have cancer. It was stylish to do so. |

Well, in my opinion, I didn't think Lily looked |

crjb1, you have a right to your opinion. But No, never has Lily looked like a boy to me. The girl is too beautiful to mistake her for a boy. |

I won't apologize for my question, I just wanted to see if anyone else shared my view, but it seems I'm in a distinct minority. There are many issues with story lines where someone may recognized themselves in them, and unfortunately, still be sensitive to. I am not trying to conjure up ill feelings. Lily is indeed a beautiful young woman, but bald looks like a very young boy. Thats just my thought. |

But since you insist on bringing that idea forward, a bald head does not make Lils any less of a woman than before. Her female equipment is in the same place and I am sure that Cane can attest to that. I loved the scenes. That is weird, I was around in the 60's, and to my recollection long straight hair was in. Bald was in for say, the Manson family and the Hari Krishna's. But is was NEVER the stylish thing to do. However, Lily looks ok with no hair. Her head is too big to be rocking it when her hair does grow out. She reminds me of the Saturday Night Live spoofs of aliens. And I am quite sure, she won't go the bald route just for style. If she has cancer, and she does on the show, she looks great...as do lots of women. But lots of cancer patients like to wear wigs too, and there is nothing wrong with them wanting that. I have personal experience in that area, so don't jump on me for my opinion. |

It is obvious that you did not notice all those AA women with short cropped Afros and shaved bald heads sporting the big earrings during the sixties. Long, straight hair was not the only kind in vogue at the time. As far as I am concerned, this is Lily's choice. I don't care one way or the other whether she wears a wig, scarf or a bald head. I think she looks absolutely beautiful either way!! But of course, that is just my opinion. Sinead O'Connor sported a bald head without having cancer and never apologized to anyone for it. Beau Derrick sported cornrows. There was and still is a little something for everyone: Big afros, short cropped afros, dredlocks, cornrows, straight hair, curly hair, coily hair, afro puffs, etc. Let Lily do her own thing about her hair. |
