Yes, he gets upset at the offer Mac has made. She did not talk to him about it at all. This is something you discuss with your boyfriend/fiance. Right? And she just blasted him for not consulting him about a magazine article. Seems she is at it again, do as I say not as I do. And you must respect my wishes, but I will do as I please. All because she is such a dudley do right. So that makes it all OK in her book.
Billy has every right to object.
And when did Lily and Mac become such bosom buddies? I don't recall them being friends until Colleen was in jeopardy.

Ok..I agree with you about Lily. She didn't ask Mac. She brought that up in converstation with her husband. Mac took it upon herself and offered.

As for as Billy I do not agree and its not because I love him LOL.When I see wrong doing with him I admit to it. She should have discussed this with him or any other partner she may have its just something that you do. Yes she just got on to him about the business which to me he really shouldn't..she doesn't consult Billy about her business..business is business..but baby is a personal thing and a couple thing. JMO

No, I was not calling Lily needy. Mac is needy. Needing attention for her do-goodiness. Needing to be in everyone's business.
Not Lily, I don't fault Lily in this volunteering to carry a baby. She had no idea.
I think Mac should have consulted Billy before offering something this important.

I think that Mac is a do-gooder in need of a cause and Lily and her baby are it. I think Mac just blurted it out without thinking about it and they are just talking about it right now. I think it is wrong that the surrogacy is more about Mac doing a good deed than Lily and Cane having the child that they want. Mac will need some sort of psych evaluation before going ahead and I am sure that the doctor will want to make sure she is doing it for the right reasons. As for Billy objections, he needs to be quiet. He has no right to tell Mac what she may and may not do, he is not her husband. What exactly is his problem with Mac wanting to help Lily? Is he so jealous of Cane that he can't stand the idea of Mac carrying his child? I thought Billy and Lily were supposed to be close in spite of the fact that Billy conspired to keep the truth about his baby from Lily for months.

It seemed pretty obvious to me that she just blurted it out in the heat of coming in on the conversation. Yes, she's looking for a good cause. Anyone remember her and Billy's conversation at the bar "office meeting" when Billy told her to find him a selfless hero? I think she's gonna try and convince him to do an article on Lily and her battle against cancer and her journey of getting a child.

I don't personally see Mac wanting the attension on this, she's gonna get attension for doing good things because that's what usually happens. She's grateful for it, but it's not something she needs. Ever since she first stepped on the canvas years ago she never did good deeds to get attension and I don't think that's changed much.

Like minds think alike I guess. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Mac. She went to Darfur for goodness sakes! You know...to a war ground where they are oppressing Blacks/Africans. Mac went there to help voluntarily! This is who she is! Billy knows this is who she is.

Yes, she could have discussed this with him but she wanted to HELP someone and she offered her womb to do it. This screams selfless act! It caught some by surprise but not me. I have people in my life like Mac and I'm grateful for it! What's Billy going to do now ...run to Chloe and kiss her again? Or maybe he'll go one step further and hop into bed with her. That's the Billy we all know and loathe.

There are people all over this world doing exactly what Mac is doing on a regular basis. You don't need a hidden agenda to commit "selfless" acts. Let this be a lesson to us all. You should always be willing to help your fellow man/woman without being questioned.

Again, I don't understand all of the angst. If Billy can't appreciate Mac for who she is (Lord knows she has put up with his pranks and not-so-well thought out decisions), I for one can't wait until he cuts her loose or vice versus.

Mac obviously is too mature for Billy. Billy is all about vindication and only loves himself. He took Ashley's money and did exactly what she and Jack told him not to do...cause pain and seek revenge! Billy sees $$$ IE. "I've beat all of you with my first edition!" LOL! (snicker-snicker) Billy doesn't care if people/relatives are quitting the company all around him. LOL!

He also slept with his BROTHER's WIFE and for that alone, I can't see why Mac would even waste her time with him. But I do understand the power of a first love and the drama that comes with it.

Now Mac was wrong for sleeping with Billy while he was with Chloe. Point taken! Mac learned about how Chloe lied to Billy about his child so there was no love lossed between Chloe and Mac. However, I do think Mac could change Billy for the better eventually but if he doesn't want to change I say "good riddance"!

Great post KC! You made some really good points my only disagreement is that while Billy asked Chloe if the baby was his and she said no he knew all along that the baby was his. He got confirmation when Chloe fell from the ladder and still kept quiet. I really want to hear Billy reason for objecting and it had better have nothing to do with Cane and his character especially given all the stunts Billy has pulled.

You know Billy isn't going to like it and it is going to cause even more friction in their relationship. Billy didn't even want her hiring Cane at Jimmy's but she did anyways. So she is going to do it whether Billy is on board or not. In fact, this may be the straw that finally breaks the came's back with those two. I hope so at least.
