When it comes to Shick's infidelities they always took the time to work things out. They didn't just forgive each other weeks later. But it took months and months for them to reconcile.

When Nick cheated the first time Sharon went off and told him to get out. Sharon was going through Cassie almost getting taken away from her. She was having to deal with the Newmans and Grace. But no matter what she didn't fold because she knew that she couldn't trust her husband. It took time for them to get back together. It took Nick really showing that no matter what he would be there for his family. No one had to tell Nick to go back to Sharon or fight for his family he did that on his own.

Then when Sharon came back from Denver it took time. They actually talked about their issues. Sharon had to show that she could fight for her family. That she was going to stay no matter what anyone did or said to her.

Sharon begged Nick to talk to her after Cassie's death. Sharon realized that blaming Nick for Cassie's death would not help their situation. She blamed Nick for the death of their daughter who died before and they almost divorced. She begged and pleaded with Nick. But Nick was so caught on his own grief that he neglected his family.

If Phyllis was such a great person you know what she should have done is sent Nick on his way. She should have told him NO. I am not going to be apart of this. I am better than this. But no she had the affair. They had a long affair. She was buying lingerie, booking hotel rooms, having sex in barns, eating dinner at Sharon's house while playing footsie with her husband. Nick having been married for ten years should have learned by now that cheating would not help his pain but make it even worse. He threw away his family. He threw away a person that he has loved since he was a teenager. He fought for his marriage so much in the past but then he was able to gamble everything on an affair with Phyllis?

Yes Phyllis got Nick and the daughter she always wanted. But she got a whole bunch of baggage in the process. She got a man who is still very much attached to his ex-wife. A man that has unresolved feelings about his daughter's death. A man that doesn't even respect her or his marriage. Because if Nick respected Phyllis wouldn't do have the stuff he does. So no I do not think Phyllis comes out ahead of Sharon.

I look at it like this Nick is in the drivers seat and Phyllis is in the passenger seat. But Sharon is in the backseat no matter how many times Phyllis tries to kick Sharon out of the car or beg Nick to leave her on the side of the road. He won't he will keep Sharon in that car no matter what.

Mem, that is absolutely great! Speak on!

I only want to add that after Nick and Phyllis' affair came out, Nick begged Sharon to give him another chance. He didn't want her to divorce him, but Sharon refused to be treated this way any longer. The final straw was when Nick told her he was the father of Phyllis' baby, Sharon then decided to get the divorce, even though Nick STILL wanted to work it out. He didn't want to let her go even after all of that. And the way Nick treated Phyllis even then wasn't great. She had to wait for him to make up his mind, and that really meant she had to wait until Sharon made up her mind whether to keep him or kick him to the curb.

Yes you are so right. Nick had Phyllis on hold until Sharon made up her mind.

He sure did want to work things out. Sharon told him he can go straight to......

Sharon has run Nicholas from the time Phyllis got prego......

When they did have a chance to reconcille....she ran him when she saw Summer at the hospital and Nick's concern..... He's been there before and we all heard Sharon say she would never let another woman go through what she went through when Cassie died....

See, truely Phyllis is not ahead.... She may think she is but Nick married his mistress because his wife was having no part of it and told him WHAT TO DO. EVERY CHOICE NICK HAS MADE SHARON TOLD HIM.......THAT IS A FACT.

I think only in Phyllis head she's ahead... She got the married man, his so called child...but that's it. Cause like NICK SAID...HE WILL ALAWAYS BE THERE FOR SHARON....NO MATTER WHAT.

So I don't see how Phyllis is ahead....seems like she will always play second fiddle.

But I understand why some would think she's ahead....cause truthfully the mistress should of gotten the boot a long time ago....or at least charges pressed against her for break & entering and trashing up another person's room.....the a criminal offence...... Plus the "fake" call she made....setting Sharon up.

Is Nick even awake.....Cause he sure is acting real slow when it comes to Phyllis.......He's an idiot to let her get away with all that crap....is that a clone we're watching.....the same child that turned his fater in......

Quote Delilah127: Well speaking as a 'stalwart' Shick fan I'll say that I have never pardoned Nick for what he did to Sharon and I'll be honest, it irritates me to no end how some shick fans just because they want him w/Sharon will make excuses for him. I don't give a rats behind about his grief, he wasn't the only one who lost a child. Why do his feelings and his grief trump Sharon's? Why was what he was going through more important than Sharon's feelings? Because he is the one who let Cassie go out that night? Oh booo fricky hoo..that's the choices we as parents make. I sure don't see anywhere that Nick is trying to change when it comes to Sharon and imho he's yet to make up for the horrible mistreatment of her and his son Noah who was just a lttle boy at the time. As much as I would like to see Nick and Sharon eventually together, he's yet to do anything for me that shows he deserves Sharon. However I see that Sharon loves him, and so for her if it's Nick she wants than I support her and want her to ultimately have the man she has loved for most of her life.

Now on the matter of phyllis no she didn't single handedly destroy the shick marriage, but she sure did help it along huh? Texting all the time, arranging hotels, buying the little monkeys, coming to work in her bargain rack fredericks of hollywood wear and doing that whole come hither talk and eyelash batting she does. The woman was like a heat seeking missile and she didn't give a dang about a 'friend' sitting over their grieving the death of her child. The same child who had been in the car w/her son. That son that Sharon helped to set free. How did phyllis repay that woman? By sleeping w/her husband. That's my whole thing w/Phyllis, she did that. All by herself, if she had been a true woman, a sister, and fellow mother, she could have seen the situation and how much Sharon needed a friend, not for phyllis to help herself to her husband.

Then phyllis has the gall even 4 years later to act like she was entitled to it all and that she never did anything wrong and Sharon is the one who put misery on her. I just don't get that kind of reasoning. Sharon had never done a thing to this woman except extend kindness and hospitality. We can go back and forth on Sharon and Phyllis sins all day, but if we just focus on what got us here, it was that incident right there. The affair..Nick and Phyllis own it..and everything that we have come to up to now is a result of THEIR selfish behaviour.

Wow, best recap of the situation I have ever read. I applaud you.

You brought up some great points KIR.

Do you remember when Sharon found out Phyllis was pregnant. They had that car crash. Sharon was at the hospital helping Phyllis. Then Nick came. Nick didn't even want to go see Phyllis. He just wanted to go home. But who made Nick stay and go see Phyllis?

Let's see.....SHARON.....

Sharon told him that she knows what it feels like to be pregnant and alone. That right there proves that Sharon is always ahead of Phyllis. Yes Sharon has made many of the same mistakes as Phyllis. The difference is Sharon feels remorse unlike Phyllis.

Maybe this thread should be renamed lets try to find fifty more ways to discuss how we hate Phyllis!

The truth is, even if Nick and Sharon were to ever finally reconcile, and that is looking further into the future than a crystal ball, Phyllis will always be a part of that, just as Sharon is now. Nick loves Phyllis. Truth is, he loves both of these women and just as he will never be free of Sharon, he will never be free of Phyllis either. Now that may be a hard pill to swallow and there are tons of threads out there just trying to figure out how to keep that from happening, but the fact remains that he loves both of these women and he has children with both of them and they both will always be a part of his life. What I find so strange is that people really believe that is not a reality, but it is. Just as Sharon is in the backseat now, if the tables turn Phyllis will be in that same seat. That is the nature of how this triangle has been written.

Nope I think Phyllis will be kicked out of the car. She won't be in the back seat.

If she is then it will be just like Victor/Nikki/Ashley. Phyllis will be Ashley and Sharon will be Nikki.

It is obvious Nick loves Phyllis but he still loves Sharon and Sharon is not his wife. Sharon isn't even trying to be any where near him. But he keeps on bringing her into his life.

Can't predict the future so maybe Phyllis will forever be linked to Shick if they get back together. Maybe she won't don't know cause it hasn't happened yet. But I do know that since Phick have been together Sharon has been right there. Either by her putting herself there or Nick bringing her in.

Iknow, I will probably get banned for saying this, but I really believe it has to be said anyway. How may times, and how many different ways can this be discussed without exhausting the subject? I do believe that this has been the most picked apart and disected subject of any on this board or any other I have ever been on. It has become so watered down and the argument so redundant that the true meaning of the story itself has just fallen into this really obscure oblivion. I am not sure now whether or not this story really deserves this much vitriol. I believe that the debate has become obcessive rather than objective. I don't think that there is really anything else to add, but rather to just keep repeating. It really doesn't change anything that the writers are writing for the show, but rather serves as just an outlet to abuse and argue points that have been made over and over and over again to the point that they now mean nothing because there is nothing left to learn.
