Hmmm...I honestly don't think she does. Yes, life (the WRITERS) has been much more cruel to Sharon with her losing her babies and her husband. But Sharon has been through hell and come out of it a stronger person (except for the whole Adam thing ), and now accepts what has happened to her and is moving on. I think she's been able to move on because she's found some sort of inner peace and acceptance.

BUT, Phyllis seems to be the type of person who even when she has what she wants can't be fully satisfied, because she doesn't believe she will keep it. She puts up a tough front, but underneath, she is extremely insecure. So there is never any peace or acceptance for Phyllis because she always thinks it's going to disappear (which she's admitted to Jack).

All the stunts she's pulled over the years, the manipulation, attempted murders, etc, etc, happened because of her insecurities. And I mean she's still manipulative, and she said just in the past year that she will do "anything" to keep what she has. A person secure in themselves would never say that.

That right Sue. Red ain't nothing but a bully and coward, she's always stealing what doesn't belong to her. Problem is she had to lie, manipulate and shame herself to continue to hold on to them (Nick). As a few others pointed out, the men in her life have never really wanted her for her, or for the long haul. It's just until something better comes along or until what they REALLY want returns the feelings. Then she's dropped on her kiester w/out a second look.

She's really quite a sad character. If she weren't so annoying and hateful though, I might feel sorry for her but I can't.

I agree, Chatterbox. I just don't get what they've done with Sharon. And now, after her baby "loss" and therapy, she's supposed to be this newer, stronger person. So why hook her up with Awful Adam? It's terrible![/quote]

I agree with both Chatter box and Ski Lady: i also don't get what they are doing to Sharon?? After this therapy was suppose to be a new start for Sharon not to depend on anybody or be fooled so easy yet again by another man. SHe hardly knows Adam,but yet she has just completely let this young man come into her life. I don't understand, how one minute you can be sooo happy about having a new start, and yet be soo completely blind to not see somebody else for what they really are?? I did not get why Sharon would even want to be friends with Adam,and let alone be falling for his Nonsene.. This storyline to me is just plain RIDICULOUS,and that is just my thought on it..
I can not really stand to see Sharon & Adam together. I really wished that the writers would have just let Sharon stand on her own,and let her be the strong woman that some of her fans wanted to see.

Phyllis has always been a smart woman! While she may know a little more about Adam than perhaps Sharon does, Sharon does know enough to be at least be smart enough to be suspicious of Adam. The answer to this question is really easy. Sharon is a "victim". That is her mentality, her focus. Phyllis is a survior. That is always her focus, her mentality.

Sharon is written as a" victim". Phyllis is written as a "victimizer".

For some reason the writers have decided to portray Phylis as very smart (sly as a fox) and they have portrayed Sharon as a victim-woman with weak judgement.
I sure would like to see Sharon making mature decisions and creating a healthier life for herself and Noah.

How is she not you ask?

When Nick admitted that he slept with Sharon, Phyllis did NOT pick up her child and her pride and tell him to get lost. Phyllis begged him to stay and kept asking "What about ME? ( oh yeah and Summer ). She took him back after he came home with his tail between his legs. All it took for her to start giggling and hair twirling again, was a piece of jewellery.
