Lilly can't even stand up straight and she wants a baby......

This is not house we're playing.....a baby is not a doll that she can put down when she's in the hospital.

Plus we all saw Cane was so broken in the hospital. It not fair to the child or Cane for Lilly who was just saying how cold she is to even think about having a child.......

Lily had dreams of Prince Charming....needed to be inlove and have a romantic partner to feel complete. When Cane married Chloe (at Lily's insistance because of the baby) shewent on the internet to find her true love. She found Billy. After much ado she and Cane reunite.....she has her Prince Charming. Or so she and everyone in GC thought. The fraud was revealed and poof went her fairy tale up in smoke. Then the cancer. What threatened to take her life was the reason Cane and Lily reunited. Ironic? Yes.

Now battling cancer - in a hospital stricken with an infection that could have taken her life - once again she, like before, talks about part two of her Fairy Tale...a baby! Some would call her a heroine. Some selfish. Actually she is a child in a woman's body. Childish. No rational mature thinking woman in her medical condition would dream of completing herself by bringing a child into the He best thingshe could do for herself, her marriage, and any child that is in her future is to concentrate on getting well. To defeat the cancer and be a strong, healthy woman capable of being a mother. To put her Fairy Tale ahead of reality is - childish.

I don't think that Lily went on the internet to find her true love. She was tired of being alone and watching Chloe live her life so she see signed up for the website. She didn't just find Billy. Billy set her up to meet Sony Crawford but anyway about the baby. I know that Lily says that she believes she will survive but I think a part of her wants this baby for Cane so that he will have a part of her if she dies. I don't see her as childish at all. The woman has lost so much so I don't see why she should be asked to forego one more thing . It is also not like Mac will be impregnated tomorrow. Lily has 9 months after Mac is inseminated to regain her strenghth. I just don't understand why Lily can never have anything. She lost her mother then her first marriage and then her baby with Cane. Chloe then set her plan in motion and Cane became part of that mess since he had his own secrets to hide. Cane marries another woman and moves her into Lily's home. Lily thinks she must move on so she begins a relationship with Billy who is lying to her the whole time. The truth about the baby is out and she and the love of her life marry but are happy for about a month before his deception is revealed and she is diagnosed with cancer and has a hysterectomy . I say if the girl wants to plan for a baby let her she deserves a little bit of happiness!

I agree with Lily's decision, it not like she is going to carry the baby herself. Having something to look forward to will help give Lily added strength on her worst days. She also has Cane who will take care of her and the baby once it is born. They are not in a foreign courtry alone. They are among family and frieds who will be willing to help if needed. She and Cane have wanted a baby for so long why wait now.

this could become a complex storyline. What if Billy wants to impregnate Mac? We are hearing him object to having Lilly & Cane's baby and I'm thinking that's why. I don't want Mac to do this for Lilly....let them go to someone else. Mac and Billy need to make their own plans, and besides knowing Mac's character, she will be too attached to the child and unable to give it up and move on. Why not ask her brother's girlfriend or someone new to the S/L's?

Lily has Cancer....does she uderstand that.

It has nothing to do with who carries the baby cause any mother would be glad to experience that herself.

It just plain out selfish for her to even think of bringing a child into this world given her condition.

Much less Cane is having a hard enough time now dealing with her sickness.

A child is not a prop that can be put down when your ill. It deserves better than that.

Lilly needs to think about getting better not about a child that she can't take care of much less her hubby.

They will make great parents......one day....this is not the day to think of such a large responsibility that deserves better.....;)

Is she even out of the hospital....they just started the new meds on her.

I don't think it is wrong at all for Lily to want a baby right now. It gives Lily something more to fight for.

There are real life cases of men who are in a coma or on life support and their sperm is harvested so that the wife can become pregnant.

The whole point of this is to keep the person alive via a child and to leave a part of themselves with their spouse when they are gone.

I gave birth to 3 children (would have liked more but had 3 miscarriages and now am menopausal) because I love kids, BUT I wanted to leave behind proof that I existed on this planet.

I believe anyway that Colleen's prediction will come true and Lily will live a long full life. So they should go ahead and have thier baby.

Personally to bring a child into this world knowing full well that you can't be the mother you can't be is selfish.....

Did the child ask to be born into this....so that she can have a legacy if she died. To me that just don't sound right....for the child....they didn't ask to be someone elses legacy.

Plus, I think she should have enought "faith" to believe that she will pull through....it not fair putting that on another human that's not born......stats might not even be in her favour....it's a gamble.

I think that Lily should wait a few years before she has a baby. Cancer is hard enough to beat. And to throw a baby in the middle of it will just make it harder. Baby's are a lot of hard work. And it would not be fair to Cain to have to take care of Lily and a baby. I don't understand why she is pushing this so hard if she truly believes that she will beat the cancer. Then why not wait untill she is stronger?

It's going to be a gamble anyway.

What if they wait, then have the baby. Say the baby is 2 or 3 or so and the cancer comes back and Lily dies anyway.

Sometimes you just gotta go for it.

None of us is promised any more than the moment we are currently living in. We can't just not live our lives to the fullest because of what might happen. No one would ever do anything.

I posted this early on in this thread and wanted to do it again since after seeing their scene together today, I feel even stronger about Lily and Cane proceeding with their dream:

I disagree with making Lily "wait"...this idea and the possiblity of having her own child (thru Mac or some other surrogate) will give her hope and something to look forward to...I've had Cancer in my family and I know the more positive the victim is, the better they take the Chemotherapy meds and resist the Cancer spreading...some of it is psychological, but it's true...a positive attitude helps "the medicine go down"...this will also have viewers like me feel that perhaps this person, this Cancer victim, Lily, will go into remission and get through this battle (just like her BFF Colleen said in the dream when she visited her the day of her drowning/brain damage)...perhaps Lily will indeed have the baby surrogately, and live long, and many years to raise the child to an adult also...and, if she is not that fortunate, I feel Cane would be a great daddy to any child and the child would be in great, capable hands with Cane...he would also have a piece of Lily live on in the child, male or female, since Lily's own eggs would be used to unite with Cane and only carried by the surrogate...so the child will be a beautiful addition to the Ashby happy home...

Thank you...None of us are promised anything in this life, If Lily wants to have a kid, Lily should have a kid...You do know that whatever Lily wants/thinks or does is never right anyway?....LOL...
