People die everyday.....you never know when you are going to pass away.Life is not promised. So Lily could be perfectly healthy and get into a plane crash then what would happen to her child. There are so many what IF's out there. Why shouldn't Lily have a child? I wanted her to have the child she lost last year. I remember I couldn't wait for her and Cane to get married and have their child. But she lost the baby and it was really heartbreaking. Lily and Cane will be such great parents. Yes they should be cautious. But Lane have so much love and that child of theirs will be loved so much. The only thing I am worried about is the Mac issue I swear if the writers do anything funny......  ITA! There is also the nature vs: nurture arguement. I always believed that as long as a child is born healthy and raised by loving, protective, happy, law abiding parents they will be OK. It's when they're raised by the parents who are always negative, vindictive and bitter their lives don't turn out so well and we all suffer. Neil doesn't love Devon nor Lily any less. Remember Lily is NOT Neil's child. Totally agree KC11!!

Why shouldn't Lily have a kid if she wants one...heck, everybody else have kids even if they don't want it...If she wants Mac as her surrogate, I say fine...yes, Lily has Cancer, this baby could be the one thing to give her hope and make her fight just a little harder to stay alive....as far as her not being in remission and could die at any moment, yes that is true, it is also true, she could get hit by a car crossing the street in front of her house...so, I say Lily, if you want that baby...go for it... |

Yes this is a soap opera but the writers opened the door to criticism by writing a realistic story of cancer, and not show the viewers anything else to continue the story showing real scenarios. Maybe the writers should have not used a realistic story-line, then people would not be so against the quick thoughts of a child while the character Lily is still in the hospital, just recovering from an unexpected illness. People who have watched the show for awhile, know that Lily's character has jumped the gun before, others are still not sold on Cane, granted he loves Lily to death, but other than that we know nothing about him except the fact that he lied about being PC3. So yes I do think they should have children but please wait until she is better, and we know more about Cane. My last point is about Mac, sure she is a nice person, but how soon she forgets she missed carried her own child with JT, also she is with Billy. Billy hates Cane and I doubt that he will be happy letting Mac carry Cane's baby, yes it will be Lily's egg's, but Cane's seed. And for those of you who think Neil needs to mind his business, I honestly think he would but he has seen his daughter Lily make how many mistakes? Right now, she still doesn't know Cane's truth. Something is still not out in the open. And what if his alleged cattle rustler story is true, and someone is after him. They will come find him, and her life will be in danger because of him and his lies. I am liking the two of them better, but he still has some 'splainin to do. She should take it slower. She always jumps in feet first, time for her to try head first. |

It seems that Lily's mistakes are pointed out constantly in order for people to justify their not wanting her to be happy finally after having so much tragedy befall her. Sharon is a prime example. She is about to make one of the biggest mistakes of her life falling for Adam. She made another mistake in sleeping with several different men and getting pregnant by one of them. While she was having mental problems stealing and all. I don't remember any thread asking whether or not Sharon should bring a baby into the world in the kind of environment she was living in at the time. The scenario of a possibility of who the Daddy was. Either two brothers or her married ex husband. The possibility that she would raise this baby without a full time Father. No Sharon was not dying but she had mental issues, memory lapses, stealing and all this while carrying a baby in the first trimester. I guess it is okay for her to bring a child into the world and raise it alone. But heaven forbid that Lily bring a precious baby into the world with the possibility she would not survive and leave the baby with a man the has proved he loves her and would love her baby with all his heart. And as far as not knowing who Cane is, she does know one thing Cane loves Lily and she is his first priority. When did I mention anything about Sharon being happy. She is much like Lily when it comes to happiness. Yes Sharon was pregnant but she didn't have to go through with the pregnancy. Was she being selfish bringing a baby she didnt have to into this world. Where was your thread cautioning her to think twice about bringing her baby into such a dysfunctional situation as she was about to. As a matter of fact little faith may still be in danger. She is living in a home with two mentally unstable people. Adam and Ashley. Ashley recovered too quickly without the help of a therapist. It makes no sense that she hasn't noticed yet that she did not give birth. She hasn't had a check up. And if she goes for her six week postpartum checkup they are bound to see she didn't give birth recently. I said all that to say I am still not sure that Ashley isn't dealing with some mental issues and she is the care taker of Sharon's child. I don't have an issue with viewers pointing the mistakes a character has made in the past or the bad storylines. But i do have a problem when I see fingers pointing at one character all the time when other characters on this show go through practically the same scenario and nothing is said and it seems not to bother anyone unless it is Lily. BTW talk about a bad storyline, Sharon's babyswitch is the worse storyline I've seen in a while. Everything about it is unrealistic. A blind man that gets around town like he can see with no problems. I already pointed out the utter foolishness when it comes Ashley fake pregnancy. All I would like to see on this board is some balance. If you are going to caution one character about the cons of bringing a baby into the world, you should give another going through the similar situation equal opportunity to hear your wisdom on the pros and cons of said situation. I'm done with this debate. I agree to disagree with you. Actual I am a Sharon Fan but I did write a thread cautioning her against the pregnancy. Even when I have a favorite character I am not blind to their flaws. Sharon needed and still needs to see someone about her issues |

As far a Neil, yes he is nosy and probably expects Cane is the one since Cane fought so hard to take Delia from Chloe and Billy even though he was not the father. So lets not hang Neil out to dry just yet, just because Lily has forgiven Cane does not mean Neil has forgot. |

Chatterbox I agree with you. I don't think that Lily should ask that of Cane just yet. He is having a hard time dealing with this cancer thing that has attacked his wife. I think she should wait to see if she recovers and then she will be able to take care of her baby. I see others post that let her enjoy a baby just in case she dies. Well to me thats not thinking about the baby. Then the baby will grow up without a mother. I feel for Lily I really do but someone needs to talk since into her right now. |
