I have seen some post saying they are not big Cane fans. I think that is okay I have many characters on Y&R that I don't follow closely because they just don't interest me. But one thing I am always interested in is great acting, no matter who's doing it. Lately Y&R gets an A for some of excellent writing causing it's actors/actresses to rise to the top and shine. Like Paul,Traci and Nina/Lily. Today it was the Cane character. Even though I am already a fan I thoroughly appreciated the fact that his acting was done so well that I cried because the character cried. He made me feel the characters emotion. That takes skill.

Now if only Y&R would do this kind of writing daily instead of just putting their favorites on as fillers with crappy dialogue the ratings will skyrocket.

It is about time!!! That breakdown as you call it was a long time overdue!! Having suffered thru that the baby Delia mess, PC3 rewrite and then being strong for Lils made me weary; I can only think about the pain and suffering it caused the person in that role. It's no fun being labeled a liar and a con man and being a pariah in GC. I don't understand how he withstood the pressure for so long without totally cracking or falling apart. His whole world crumbled and his family deserted him. The writers could have given him a friend or an ally to lean on or blow off steam from time to time, but they never did. Even PC3 who was supposed to be a good, true and trusted friend was no comfort. What a cruel thing to do to such a great character! That proves what an excellent actor DG is. An actor with less skill would never have withstood this role.

The writers took his family away from him, but he is still the same kind, loving man. Chancellor mansion, on the other hand, has been dead without him. They need him as much as he needs them. I expect Neil to come completely full circle again and accept him as his son-in-law again.

I watched with my mom today and we broke right on down with him. Boy I could hardly breathe after trying to gather myself after that scene.

OH FORGOODNESS SAKE!! How Awesome was Today's Show Cane My Dear you walked up and Down the Studio Grounds Today! Loved, Loved, Loved your performance, I was talking to my Husband (who is noway a soap fan) matter of fact he criticize me for watching, but the Cane and Lily s/l caught his attention, he thinks there a Nice-Looking Couple, (say what) and today's show he had to stop and take a look, it's a bought time, Cane's been there through it all, never taking a BREAK, 24/7 to much and watching her go through this to much, now seeing her like this he's afraid and yes he needs his Mom (Jill) that was so nice of Neil to Call Jill and say Cane needs you (and we can Bet she'll be there in a hurry) And i'm so PROUD of Everybody s Remarks, even if you aren't a Cane Fan you did a great service to him TODAY, Hey, Thanks

I don't think any of them would object to giving him a job and hoipefully they will but I would hope that after this scare with Lily, Cane would want to stay closer to home with his wife other than ge back at the some job right now. JMO

Heck, no reason why Jill or Katherine shouldn't officially adopt him and make him a Chancellor - he has no other family. This might be a first in soap opera history. Then, he, Billy and Phillip III could really be brothers - wouldn't than be fun?

Just thought of something else - Katherine should adopt Jill as well. Might as well make it one big, happy family. What possibilities!
