The truth is that Billy did not, I repeat did not know if any of what he and Jack wrote was true or not and did not care. He did it as one person has said out of shear spite and revenge, not considering or even thinking about for that matter who all the fall out would affect. He didn't consider what Abby and Noah would have to deal with at school with their peers. The adults don't have to deal with any of it really, but the kids have to hear it constantly from the kids at their school, even if it is a pricey private school. Kids will be kids and can be very cruel even if not really meaning to be.
If I were Victor's lawyer, I would have brought suits against Billy personally and RS for slanter, libal, defamation of character, just to name a few. We know what Victor did really but there is no way Billy can prove it and he would have to in court. No more RS and it would also be the way to get the SEC off his back too.[/quote]

I do agree that Billy did this out of revenge and hurt, but I don't agree that he should be castrated for his actions the way that he has been. Revenge is Genoa City is plentiful. It's like a big bowl of halloween candy, everybody takes a handful when they think no one is looking. And in some cases, if someone is looking, they don't care about their actions, only their revenge.


Yes, I agree that there is always going to be fall out for the choices that are made. These articles are just one more thing that could effect Abby and Noah. But come on, Abby mother and father's actions are embarrassment enough, and Noah parents actions are embarrassment enough. So I don't think that Billy's actions are enough for everyone to ream him out. If Victor wants to lawyer up, the burden of proof will have to come from him. He would have to prove that he didn't do all the things that Billy wrote about. No you are wrong. The cases would be against Billy and RS and Billy would have to prove that what was written was not slanter or defamation of character. Like I said we know what happened but Billy has no proof about anything he wrote. Victor only admitted it to Jack and that can be explained away by the fact of him being Billy's brother and that he doesn't like Victor. Remember one thing in Victor's favor, Traci gave him Colleen's heart.

Hell Yeah, Billy used RS to get his revenge. And why shouldn't he. Victor is not and I repeat NOT going to pay for his part in CC's death. A scathing Article in RS is small potatoes compared to what Victor deserves. There was outrage on this board about Victor bringing Patti to GC and susequently causing the death of a young 22 yr old and then taking her heart to keep her murderer alive. Now everyone is angry at Billy's Article. He can run hundreds of Articles on the crimes of the Newman's and never make up for CC's loss of life. The Newman's have essentially run GC and gotten away with Murder i.e.CC and Ashley's baby. They have never paid for any of their crimes. Everyone worshipping at their feet and no one not even the law making them pay for their crimes. Jack wrote a fake diary about Victor that was a pack of lies. But I didn't see people upset about that as they are with this Article that everyone knows is the truth. And if the Article wasn't the truth does anyone here think Victor would let it go without suing RS and Billy? I say go head Billy with yo bad self! Get your revenge and make TGVN pay for his crimes by being shamed on the front page of your mag.

I think if anyone should have thought about abby and noah it should have been victor not billy.

I bet she would sure love to hear someone gossiping about anything. Oh no she can't she is dead because of Abby and Noah's grandfather.

Lady, if Victor brings an action against RS and Billy then Victor would be considered the Prosecution and RS and Billy would be the defendents. The burden of proof is the obligation of the prosecution. This proof that Victor would need is to prove what Billy said is wrong. That requires evidence. However, the defense will do their due dilligence and provide evidence that proves their case, but if you are prosecuting someone, the burden of proof is on your lap.

Colleen is dead because she fell out of a boat in still waters (and a result of her UNCLE's and GODFATHER's feud)! Why not blame Gloria & Jeff for kidnapping Patty and bringing her to the Abbot Cabin? Why not blame Phyllis for making Patty jealous when she slept with Jack? Why not blame Jack for breaking Patty's spirit and soul? No, just blame it ALL on Victor

Nobody was protecting the Newmans but when you start doing smear campaigns, that leads to "gutter" non-substance reading material that only tells "half-truths". Billy didn't tell WHY Patty was disturbed did he? We all know Colleen was upset because she got drunk and flashed her boobs, made sexual advances towards a married man and was relaying business dealings to a competing company (corporate espionage). But that doesn't matter

Please, if Billy can dish it out he should be able to take it. He wants to wage war, then he should be prepared to fight!!! And you better believe the fight is not over

I agree Demus. If Billy can dish it out he should have to deal with the consequences. I don't think he is afraid of continuing the Newman/Abbott fued. That war is LONG from over. Victor continued to threaten Jack the day he left for Europe. Now really, would be want to watch Y&R with no families fueding? That fued is one of the cornerstone storylines.

Billy has never backed away from the Newmans. I like that. Good or bad, right or wrong, the Newmans need dropped a peg or two. (As do the whole Fisher/Balwin crew, but that's another post!)
