On Tuesday's show, Lauren tells Billy that she is going to pull her ads from RS because she "doesn't want to associate with publications that prefer sensationlism to substance". As this pertains to the slam job on Victor and Victoria. I don't remember her getting all up in arms when Phyllis wrote the article about Sharon that was totally sensationlism and not substance. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Jack write some sensationalism also?? I don't remember her pulling her ads when those stories came out.
So which is it? She only leaves her ads in when it is her friends that owned the magazine and pulls them when her friends no longer own the magazine?? Even bad publicity (for her indirectly) is good publicity. Fenmore's could get a rush of clients into the boutique!!

I can totally understand that. But she didn't pull her ads when Phyllis and Jack were writing trash about other people.

I agree Sud. The only bad publicity is NO publicity. Lauren was concerned that sales had fallen off due to the economy. I don't remember her being this principled before.

Lauren needs to save her high and mighty voice of morality act. Billy printed the facts about Victor plan and simple but she is so insensed that he must remove her ads but her family can commit any number of crimes but she remains silent and even finds excuses. Billy could have let it go but he was hurting over Colleen but he wrote the truth about Victor from his connection to Patti to his deal in the Caymans.

you know why shes pulling her ads? because the writers wrote that in because it goes better with the s/l. the point is everyone turns against billy and this whole writing an article about victor thing backfires on him.

she probably didnt care as much when it was about sharon and jack bc it didnt affect her as much.... remember victor and victoria are michael's clients. if michael has to deal with all the media back lash of the article, lauren wont be happy.

its just to add to the story line, get over it.

Lauren own Fenmore's Boutique and I can understand that she would only want to advertise in magazines that are more geared toward fashion than tabloid drama! She has probably designed her advertising campaign for her Boutique in magazines like Harper's, Vogue and those mags that promote fashion and design. Truth is, Victor Newman is a huge client of hers and Nick and Phyllis are best friends with both she and Michael. She probably has alot of her clients that were referred to her by Nikki Newman. It makes very good sense. If I were a national and international Boutique owner, I surely would not be running my ads in a tabloid rag! Lauren made the exact right decision. When is the last time that you saw an ad for Vera Wang Wedding dresses in a tabloid rag?

And yet Lauren wasn't thinking about her clients or her boutique's rep when Phyllis and even Jack were writing tabloid trash. Why now? Because she's a hypocrite, that's why (JMHO).

I would think that the reason that Lauren didn't pull her ads from the magazine when it was being run by the Abbott's and and the Newman's is because the magazine at that time and up until Billy purchased it, was basically a magazine abuot fashion and fasionable people. The publication was at start up basically and the articles didn't run on a regular basis trashing everyone. The magazine has changed hands and has changed it purpose and mission statement. It is no longer a fashion magazine or a human interest magazine. It is a cheap tabloid. Perhaps Lauren does not want her store to be advertised in a publication that probably wouldn't buy cloths from her anyway. The probably couldn't afford it. You put your advertising dollars where you can get the most bang for buck and a sleezy tabloid magazine isn't the image Lauren probably wants for her Boutique nor is it the type of clientelle she wants to attract either. It makes good business sense.

I just can't believe the whole town is turning on Billy. Not only Lauren on her high horse but Amber as well. Amber? Puhlease! Kevin has changed Ok I get that but Colleen is dead and he sides with Victor and Daniel saying that Victoria would never cheat? All of these people need to look in the mirror and leave Billy alone. His tatics maybe suspect but he is telling the truth why is everyone defending the devil?
