Hi all... so good to be a part of the board . I have a question regarding Sharon's baby and i want to just put it out there...okay i see where Sharon's Baby was born pre-mature so i am guessing probably the lungs of the child is not fully developed as yet, however Ashley has the child from day one all up in her arms . Is it Natural for a 7 mth old baby to look that fully developed breathing by itself and all?

No it is not natural. The baby would have been in the preemie nursery in an incubator being closely monitored for hyaline membrane disease and jaundice. No way would she have been in Ashley's or Victor's room or out in the hall ways with all those people holding her with out gowns, gloves and masks..The writers think we are all stupid.

What disappoints me is they could have done a really moving story about a premie baby...instead, they just chose to overlook any complication and the emotional rollercoaster that parents of premie babies go through...Same thing they have been doing to Lilly's story for a long, long time.....TPTB are just filling us with this baby switch/crazy Ashley story and leaving out all the stuff that would make this a very touching storyline!

Welcome mshotness!

You are correct about the baby and it's potential problems. It would have made a terrific storyline. Unfortunately some of these plots are rushed through so quickly, that details are kicked to the curb. Guess we have to grin and bear it!

My son was born 8 weeks early. He did not spend one day in the NICU and could breath on his own from the start. He was very small though, 4.7 pounds but other than that, he didn't have any issues at all. While I realize that isn't the norm, it is possible.

The part that ISN'T possible is that Ashley can't tell she didn't have a baby. For anyone who has had a baby, we all KNOW she's nuts and so are the MALE writers!!!!!!

When I was born (in the 50's), I was two months premature. I weighed 2 lbs at birth and dropped to 1-1/2 pounds. Evidently my organs were fully functioning, but I was in an incubator for three months before gaining enough weight to be allowed to go home. My aunts have told me I was the tiniest thing they had ever seen. Baby Faith certainly doesn't look like a preemy and, in the real world, she would probably have been kept in the hospital for more than a couple of days or so.

Some babies born at 7 month come out ready to rock and roll ! Others have problems but it just depends on the baby !

So at 7mths am i to assume that the baby lungs are fully developed without doctor's interventions?? I wonder why they call them pre-mature then?

Most babies just lay around and gain weigh and yes there lungs do develop but some babies born at 7 months do quite well without any intervention while others need some help. A smaller baby does not always mean un healthy. I had a baby at 7.5 months and he was fine and did'nt need any help in the lung department. Once your water breaks its go time ! Sharon having her baby in a nut house with no pain meds and nobody but Doctor Taylor ? This story is just to much out there to be believable

Lauren and Michael's baby was born about 6 weeks early and he had problems with his lungs and stayed in the hospital about a month. Sharon/Ashley's baby was able to have visitors and even go to ICU to visit Victor immediatly.

It's just like when Lauren was kept up all the time because Fen would not go on schedule and was sensitive because he was a premie, but now mere weeks later Ashley has no problem getting back to work and everything is going wonderfully.

She doesn't seem to be sufferring any new Mommy syndrome with Faith.

And I don't care how early your babies are...a mother knows she has had a baby!!!! My sis had hers at 25 and 26 weeks.....some people say that pain with a premie is harder than with a full term baby....
