Great posts one and all! I would love to see the Ashbys happy after all of this drama. BUT of course the writers will have some other idea for them. It will be interesting to see if Cane IS a Miller. That would be an excellent story!

I think it can be nice.

I have suspected for a long time that Mac would be the surrogate. I am glad the Ashby's will finally get their baby Ashby after losing the first one and Lily's bout with Cancer and having trouble in their marriage. Nothing says dedication to one another more that a new baby. I do think things are a bit rushed. There seems to be an urgency and I don't understand why. Mac and Lily's relationship seem so rushed. It took years for CC and Lily to become best friends. It has only taken Mac and Lily 2months and she is offering to be the surrogate. Another thing that is kn awing at me is there was a mention of Mac having baby fever, that does not bode well when you are carrying another couples baby and will have to turn him or her over to that couple in nine months. Wait and See!!!!

I think that Mac would make a great surrogate. She is one of the few characters on the show that puts other people's happiness first. Her character would never try to keep the baby as her own or cause undue stress on Lily. I would love to see her do this for Cane and Lily. It would be a beautiful storyline.

as long as the baby is cane & lily. i dont care who the surrogate is. and as long as lily dont get screwed over again, by not letting the child be hers. they could have pull a bobby ewing scenario, and let lily carry her own child. that would have been the best choice. i hope they dont make cane fall for mac if they do, then i done with this show.

In theory Mac being the surrogate would be safe choice, but this is a soap, and her being Lane's surrogate is not going to be so cut and dry. First Mac and Lily have both lost babies, and I don't think that someone who has lost a child and doesn't have children of their own, would make a good surrogate. The most giving person, no matter how wonder, caring, and the goodness of light, would get attached to a baby they carried for nine months. Lily will be on the outside looking in again as she did with Chloe. Cane is his own way, gave up Lily for a Chloe and her baby, a baby he knew wasn't his, imagine the attention he will give Mac, someone he has said he had a connection to.

I don't care how good and sweet both Lily and Mac suppose to be, this will not end happily ever after for the Ashbys. In this case a surrogate should be someone who isn't invested in their lives.


Wishing the Lane fans well as their story goes into surrogancy with holier than thou Mac, who has compromised her conscience and morals before by getting with a married men before his divorce. Don't the sugar sweet fool ya, she is like anyone else, she wants what she wants, and it has been mentioned that she was getting baby fever. GOOD LUCK, you're going to need it because all the baby bonding wil be with whoever is carrying that baby, and that will be MAC not Lily!

diamond, I respect your right to your opinion but I disagree. Remember that Cane is deeply in love with Lily. And in the end wanted her over having children with her. The connection here for Cane is Lily. Mac may carry that baby and Cane and Lily will bond with her and the baby. But Cane loves Lily. And he will love that baby because it is Lily's. He will be grateful to Mac but he doesn't love Mac. The problem will stem from Billy Abbott because he is very insecure, jealous and hates Cane . You may see some feelings of inadequacy from Lily but overall she will be grateful to see her dream come true, of having her own bio-baby with Cane. BTW Cane did not choose Chloe's baby over Lily he chose his false identity, because he knew if anyone found out he wasn't PC3 that he would not only lose Lily but Jill and Kay and he was a coward and tried to keep it all. I know there are some out there that are hoping that things turn out yet again where Lily is left alone with nothing but don't get your hopes up to high, they'll have too far to fall.

I'll go there! None of the Af. Am. women charactors had children.
Tyra was raising Ona who was her foster niece.
Karen was not barren ,but refusing to have children out of fear of dying of cancer like her mother had.
Both charactors were written out because of Neil.
Roxy only remains & recently had the most lines I've ever heard her speak forgiving Devon.
I doubt we will ever get another Af. Am. family on the show.
It's a big disappointment.

I do think Mac & Cane will get together. No one stays happy on a soap. Mac has chemistery w/ Cane. She certainly has none w/ Billy , or Chance.

Mackenzie had a miscarriage while in a relationship with JT (once Colleen was out of the picture with JT)...shortly after that, Mackenzie left town...
