I disagree. This storyline is VERY MUCH About Nick being jealous of Adam getting close to Sharon. If that wasn't the case, there would be no point in PURPOSELY having Nick and phil over to Sharon's house on Halloween. They want to show us that althoug Nick is married to phil, his feelings and in fact love for sharon run very deep. Adam wants anything and everything that meas something to Nick... Newman Enterprises, his father's affection, and yes the very pretty, now available love of his life, Sharon. What better way to hurt someone than to take what they love the most. I just read in SOW that JM says of his character Nick that he will "go to extremes to keep Adam away from Sharon." Don't sound like its just about business to me. He wants Adam away from what he still views as "his". I think that whether Adam was a good guy or bad guy, Nick would still be jeaslous. Phyllis may be married to him, but Sharon has his heart. And as for Phyllis being smater than both Sharon and Ashley, what phyllis is is more devious, manipulative, deceitful, sneaky, and destructive. That is what Adam is interested in. Can't blame the man for trying, he knows who phyllis is, and knows how desperate she is to keep Nick, why not get her help? I don't but somewhere down the line, phyllis may retrack this and try to get Adams help once it come out that Faith is Nick and Sharons baby, then we may see those two devils may be working together after all. And last, just because one may be dumb in love, doesnt mean they are dumb in business. Ashley may be crazy now, but she wasnt always, she was a very succesful chemist and business woman, just too dumb to leave Victor alone. But how does that make Phylls smarter? Phyllis is too dumb and desperate to see that her husband is in love, and will always be in love with his ex wife. So what she's been a webmaster, and editor of a magazine, there are plenty women in GC with just a much business skills as phil if not more so. Lauren and her Fenmore's department store, Sharon was co-owner and co-founder of Crimson Lights, a very successful Coffee shop. Already mentioned Ashleys perfumes. Nikki ran for a public office, and held jobs at both Jabot and Newman, Jill a top executive at Jabot, and Chancelor enterprises. The top Executive Diva, Katherine Chancelor took over her husbands business, and is running it very succesfully. See.... there are many many women who are just as business smart as phil...but only phil is as ruthless as a snake... that's why Adam wants her help.

Quote Gencor: I think that Nick is in for some pretty tough time. He is going to be attacked on every front. The problems with Newman are looming large and Adam has gotten the ball rolling. I don't think that this is going to be about Sharon, but more about the corporate attacks that are going to bring Nick to his knees. Adam is now trying to convince Phyllis to team up with him and we all know what a huge mistake that will be in the end. Adam has met his match there. Phyllis is much smarter than Sharon and Ashley put together. When Phyllis tells Nick that Adam came to see her he is going to realize what Adam is really up to. I agree, however, I am wondering if Nick is really up to this. This storyline is not going to be about Nick and Sharon or his jealousy of that situation because when he realizes that he is being played by Adam and now other outside forces he isn't going to have time to care. This could develop into some really good corporate storylines, which have been so missed on this show. The show was always more intersting when the corporate wars were front and center. The writers have really messed up the romance on this show, I hope that they do a better job with the corporate war. This could turn out to be very interesting.

The interesting thing about Adam is he is very quick. Nick just keeps standing still and mouthing off while Adam is moving! He is already in with Sharon and now he is showing up at Phyllis's door. Point being that Sharon may be slow to the draw but Phyllis is a very different story. He is hitting Nick on all sides and Nick is blindsided to it. If Phyllis tells Nick about the little visit he makes to her and what she thinks he is after, the ballgame changes if Nick can get up go before Adam makes it to the finish line. Nick is a very slow mover. It isn't that he is dumb, necessarily, but he is pretty slow. Adam going to Phyllis neutralizes Nick on Sharon. He put Phyllis in the position to play her hand or hold it close. He made her the player, Sharon doesn't hold any cards, she is the pawn. Adam knows exactly what he is doing, Nick just hasn't caught up to it just yet. Like I said he is slow. Now, if Nick plans to fight the Newman seige, he is really going to have to step it up a pace or two or three! He isn't a player yet. He needs to quit mouthing off and make a move!

I totally agree with you about Adam. I am also loving his plan to get even with the brother who never accepted him. Even before he started his evil ways. Perhaps if Nick had been the least little bit nice to him, after all he is as much blood to daddy as Nick is, then maybe there wouldn't have been a baby stealing episode or any of the things he did to Victor. Nick and Victoria started it by being selfish crybabies.
And to me, Adam has done no worse than Kevin or Jana and everyone praises them for changing and being so great.

Quote countryMomof4: Vicki and Nick were both cool towards Adam because they remembered Victor's marriage to Hope and the birth of Adam as a bad time in their lives. I haven't forgotten that Adam has screwed up at NE. Both Nick and Vick have over the years. Victor has given them ALL second or third or fourth chances because they are his children. Adam IS devious but if Nick keeps getting in his face, it will only get worse. Nick may start making unsound business decisions because Adam is screwing with his head, especially over Sharon.Victor will come back and tear everyone a new one.

I agree noony with your observations about Phyllis and Sharon. Phyllis is just as manipulative and devious as Adam so she is quicker to recognize a scam. Sharon is NOT like that and it is difficult for people who have good hearts to see that others are not so good.
