Adam's Redemption!

No heart, no soul = Satan. That is Adam. No one - certainly not Ashley or Sharon - will ever forgive Adam once the truth comes out. Just about everyone in town hates him now, and they know nothing of how depraved he is. So the writers have written Adam into a corner and are trying to find a way to "redeem" him without the truth coming out fully. They can't have it both ways: they either have to have Adam's sick lies and schemes exposed and he pay the full price (prison, baby) OR he will continue to be one of the most hated characters in H&R history and no amount of "bonding" with Sharon will ever change that. |

People yip about Victor BUT there is always a real storyline with his vengence usually against Jack or Brad who have tried to kill him, take his Co. & so on. Adam came into the show with a HUGE chip on his shoulder as if he were the only one hurt by his appearance as Victors son & an hier to the throne, HELLO, everyone involved with Victor is effected with every kid Victor sires legally or not as with Saint Ashley...Adam has done far worse than any other devient on this show, he needs to pay and pay dear!!!!! |

I do believe that Ashley told Adam that the baby was Nick's when she was in the hospital. So Adam does know that Faith is Nick & Sharon's. Adam also tried to give his condolensces to Nick, which Nick rejected. |

To redeem this character the writers will have to redeem their storytelling.....'cause since 3+ years its been a BIG MESS.... |

Until Adam confesses and gives Sharon back her baby there can be no redemption. How is Adam offering condolences to Nick a show of him changing. He knows the man's baby is not dead because he stole the baby. Adam's tears did nothing to move me either he needs to confess and face the consequences. Sipping wine with Sharon and dicussing her grief counseling is sick and not the sign of a remorseful man. Am I sure he is justifying his actions in his own mind, like father- like son but there is no redemption without retribution. |

Michael and Kevin have BOTH paid dearly for their crimes (Jana - yeah, they threw in that ridiculous brain tumour story to keep her around  . That's how you redeem a character: make them PAY with the severity being equal to what they've done. Michael spent "6 years" in jail for his attempted rape of Christine (although he's still extremely shady and constantly breaks the law still  ). Kevin was beaten in jail within an inch of his life for what he did to Lily (and was late payback, IMO, as well for trying to kill Colleen and not paying for that). Characters that do heinous things NEED to pay and pay dearly for them before most fans will say they're redeemed. There is no other way to even attempt to redeem Adam except have the truth come out and give Sharon and Nick back their daughter.Adam is dead to me (I wish!). ***CLAP***CLAP***CLAP****CLAP*****CLAP******CLAP****CLAP AWESOME POST, SOUL! BRAVA!BRAVA!BRAVA!BRAVA! Hands you a virtual bouquet of roses(your color choice)! Awe, thanks C.  But it's the truth. The key problem I have with this show (well, one BIG one of many  ) is the the current writers pale in comparison to writing regimes pre-LML. Writers then knew HOW to write a good story with villainous characters because you didn't have to wait years before you saw the villain get their just desserts - and they always got it good!  This is what kept viewers tuned in; to see the inevitable pay back because you KNEW it was coming and they always delivered! Think David Kimble, that crazy guy that stalked Lauren (can't remember his name), Phyllis's payback for what she did to Danny, etc. With MAB's team, they've proven that they don't write stories where the "bad" guys get any real payback. Just look at all Gloria has gotten away with! Look how long we had to wait to see her pay for tainting the Jabot cream - and it was a HUGE let down. Phyllis hasn't paid for all her lies, manipulations and schemes, nor has Victor, Michael and his crime family got away with holding William hostage and him dying, and worst of all - Adam! These writers insult the viewers' intelligence by writing as IF we've forgotten the heinous/malicious things done and can be easily distracted by throwing some other trite plot angle in (e.g. contrived romance anyone? ) and we're supposed to suddenly just root for that character like nothing has happened.  WRONG. Adam can't be redeemed until the truth comes out and he pays dearly for what he put Ashley through and for kidnapping Sharon and Nick's baby. Everything he's done needs to be exposed. Period. There can be no redemption for Adam unless and until he comes clean and 'fesses up to his sins. You're right about pre-LML. They knew how to write a good story. |
