TGVN (IMO) brought this chick to town to mess with Jack--end of story. Patty is responsible for her actions.

REVENGE and one-upmanship and the feud that is never ending play a BIG part in poor little SUMMER'S coma and brain damage. At about the same time, his neglected wife started an affair with ole smilin JACK. ASH got pregnant, VIC went back to his wife, ASH had an abortion and went to a mental hospital or as the rich sometimes call it a "spa" treatment. ASH comes back with a new hubby DR. STEVE LASSITER. The feud has started! Throughout the years the NEWMAN?ABBOTT feud has seen each of the men at one time or another have controlling interest in the other's company, by whatever means possible. At one time while NIKKI was married to JACK(and pregnant)& ole VIC had control of JABOT the two men sat down & negotiated the return of JABOT & the divorce or relinquishing of NIKKI. TGVN did pay for PATTYCAKES to change her face to that of DR. EMILY, fly to GC, and concoct a resume so good that BILLY would hire her as crackerjack PR person to help restore JABOT'S reputation! PATTYCAKES sole job was to report back to TGVN with any plans of JACK'S concerning business, nothing else. Remember at the time not only had JACK set up ADAM for the diary fiasco BUT he had made sure COLLEEN now sat on NE's board of director's and was pulling all the strings to cause problems for NE. Now, I am NOT certainlly making excuses for both TGVN & JACK's VENGEFUL behavior just laying it out. What ole VIC did NOT count on was for JACK's marriage to implode 7 for NICK & SHARON to have an affair. JACK then took an interest in MARY JANE/PATTYCAKES and became intimate thus fueling the OBSESSION that had been dormant. Once ole PATTYCAKES had a taste of JACK she wanted MORE and to push ANYONE out of the way. SHARON was still married to JACK(filing for divorce)and was PREGNANT. PATTY saw her as being in the way even though NICK told his wife he was leaving her & going to be with SHARON! What PATTYCAKES didn't know but found out later was that PHYL still was close to her ex-husband JACK. PATTYCAKES found this out when she witnessed the intimacy between PHYL & JACK on the sofa! WHAT TO DO? WHAT TO DO? WHAT TO DO? How could she remove both women? Set SHARON up for stealing TGVN's wallet.(jail) PATTYCAKES saw her opportunity later at RS when instead of(boiling a bunny like another cinamatic crazy in FATAL ATTRACTION)she gave poor little SUMMER her peanutbutter kiss. Just as SHARON was receiving her happy news about little FAITH, poor little SUMMER was being rushed to the hospital. We all know that NICK stayed with his family like he should have during this tragedy(redeeming himself for what happened with CASSIE). TGVN thought he got rid of PATTYCAKES by paying her off. She instead fled to the potting shed where she was "helped" by the EVIL SPAWN himself, ADAM! So, what does the little bunny boiler do now? Why she kills poor ZAPATO, of course! ole VIC finds out just what PATTYCAKES is capable of doing and puts a bopunty on her head. Enter DUMB & DUMBER! JACK raises the stakes, and the frenzy is on. PAUL finds out her true identity and takes her to the church for santuary. While PAUL is negotiating enter SISTER MARY "GLORIA" of the HOLY ORDER of GREED & MONEY to whisk PATTYCAKES away. PATTYCAKES is tied up and found by COLLEEN who lets her loose. PATTYCAKES then ties up COLLEEN and takes her to the camp. PATTYCAKES is bitten by the spider from CHARLOTTE'S WEB(kidding)and COLLEEN is able to go for help. The last we see of COLLEEN she is in the canoe and we are to assume dies of an accident. Many blame TGVN for her death just like NICK first blamed DANIEL for the accidental death of CASSIE. Sure, ole VIC lied to PHYL's face about his involvement BUT he certainly was NOT the only one to contribute to this whole GREEK TRAGEDY. The blame has many players which include not only VIC but JACK, ADAM, DUMB & DUMBER, PAUL, CHANCE,SHARON, NICK, & PHYLLIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!There really are varying degrees of guilt/association. And the moral of this whole tragedy is REVENGE NEVER PAYS and the INNOCENT got hurt not the intended targets.

Many times in life revenge can get out of hand as it did in this situation, but when Victor called upon Gloria and Jeffery to kidnap Pattie and bring him to her, he became forever guilty! He owes these people, and most especially his son and his daughter-in-law and his grandchild a huge apology and nothing and I mean nothing can excuse his culpability in this whole matter. He did indeed hurt his family! His grandaughter practically died! If Tracy was kind enough to give him her daughter's heart after all that he tried to do to Colleen, then what is wrong with him that he cannot even apologize to his own son and his family? Victor Newman is an emotional cripple and for once in his sad and pathetic life, he owes people! Most especially his own son and daughter-in-law. It doesn't matter what you may think of Phyllis, Victor was wrong and he owes her an apology!
