Michael is a trip and needs to remember that he is Victor's kiss butt lawyer and not a Newman. He so quick to judge Adam and to express his feelings over what Victor is giving Ashley in the divorce as if he in the damn "Will". As usual he needs to shut the heck up, stop being so judgemental and do as he's told by the person who is paying him because his gold-digging momma Gloria and her side kick Jeffrey not giving him a dime. Hypocrites Michael and Lauren always talking out both sides of their face, one minuet he not gonna be used by them, then the next he in there scheming with those two useless losers. Lauren may not like this but I'm sure she gonna be right there in the mix with them as usual. |

Quote Lady53: Quote SLEUTH: I believe in the real world and with an attorney with morals and values it would be unethical. Like yesterday, he was chomping at the bit to call Phyllis and tell her TGVN was leaving town. I thought that was unethical. Phyllis is not his client. Phyllis should have learned the news from Nick nor Michael. There is nothing wrong with Michael telling Phyllis, morally ethically or other wise. The situation with Glo though is quite a different matter. Michael is on retainer by Victor and legally he cannot represent Glo, mother or not, it's a conflict of interest. But then these writers don't do their homework and don't care. All they know is that some how they need to find a way for Glo and Jeff to be able to pay for Phyllis' place. At least until Tucker comes to town and she sets her sights on him. Yeah I know it is supoose to be between Jill and Nina, but Glo always finds a way to involve herself when talking high$$$$$ We must agree to disagree. Michael was meeting with his client, his client gave him information about his personal business and Michael ran out the door like a gossiping little witch and called Phyllis. It was really none of her business. As a professional he must put his personal friendships aside. Again, his first call should have been to the Newman heirs and not his BFF. |

Victor did not leave instructions that he was to tell no one. Victor told Nick that Michael would be taking care of everything personal. He left Michael in charge the same as he did when he took off to Mexico. And that is where he is going to do wrong, because of the conflict of interest and Glo. |

This may come as a shock, but I think that Michael is doing the exact right thing. This particular storyline could be a very interesting one, again, if the writers do it right. You see, now that we know that The great and powerful Oz is returning to the show after all, then I believe that he should be called on the carpet for all of his misdeeds of late. If the bank was on the verge of collapsing, you can bet your last dollar bill that Victor knew it and when he took his money out of that bank I am sure that more than just Jill, Gloria and Jeffery lost their holdings, their cash flow as well. This is a big thing, a big storyline! If Michael didn't get to the bottom of it, he could be held liable, as Victor's attorney, if insider information was traded before the bank failed. Michael is covering his own backside, just in case. And, in the process he can return his mother's money to her and Jill's money to her, all the better. The thing is this.....Victor brought a woman to town who almost killed his granddaughter and he has no remorse. He was trying to destroy the career of his own godchild, who ended up dead because of what he did to get back at Jack. Oh yea, he got his revenge on Jack for the diaries in the end by the events that HE set into motion. Jack lost his most beloved and really innocent niece and then Victor took her heart so that he could live to see another day and yet, he has no remorse, heck, he isn't even grateful! Instead of letting others know that a bank which held so much money of people he knew, he took his and let them loose theirs, but yet he has no remorese! Under his own roof, his own son was driving his wife crazy and yet he never hired people or took enough time to find out himself what was really going on, yet he has no remorse. And now, to put the icing on the cake, he is asking a woman that he practically wished was dead and swept the floor with to forgive him and put the past behind her by offering a big diamond and life with him and yet he still shows no remorse. He is not repentent. He is not even willing to face what he has done! How many lives he has destroyed! He has yet to even apologize to his own son and daughter in law for his part in grandaughter dying. He feels no remorse for lying to Phyllis to her face when she went to him in earnest to find out the truth before she left with her little girl to get her more help! Yes, these are all things that the powerful and rich Oz has done! Yet, he feels no remorse, he feels justified in all of this! You betcha, if I was Michael Baldwin, I would cover my backside today and everyday that I worked for this monster! He is, afterall the lawyer for this man and there is no telling what Victor has him do for him! Michael Baldwin is a very smart, tough and very savvy business man and lawyer, he has every right to recover his mother's lost fortune and he has every right to cover his own butt if Victor has done anything that would put him in jeapordy! |

ITA with everything here, i am just too lazy to have typed it all up myself. After all the stuff that creep has done and to watch everyone showing up and lashing Billy (whom I do not like either, so it is not about him) for exposing that creep after all the pain he has caused everyone. Dad or not my dad, if somebody brought an unstable woman in and she hurt one of my kids, he would be VERY sorry, but Nick just sits there kissing his feet like always....it's bull. Victor deserves this and everything else he gets. He is just a big jerk and I am sorry he is staying. He is abusive and abusive men just deserve everything rotten that comes their way. |

Seriously does TGVN own the darn bank or something, the bank is faltering and like any other smart business man or anyone else for that matter, he took his money out, so can he be sued for trying to save his money? The subject is Michael, not Nick. Micheal is Victor's attorney. Michael has to have all of this information as Victor's representative. Even if Nick told Victor, what Victor may have done was wrong if no other bank shareholders or other customers knew and he did. If Victor withdrew his large assets from this bank before it folded and no other holders in the bank did, then Victor could very well be under suspicion for what he has done. It could even come up that Nick was the one to inform him. Then who informed Nick? Michael will need to know all of this as Victor's attorney. If Victor or Nick went off half cocked with this info and that bank failed precisely because of the huge holdings that Victor had in it, that is questionable at the very least. In recovering this info, Michael can return his mother's assets to her and Jill's to her, I don't think that it has to be underhanded at all. Michael is the attorney for Victor. If Victor has done something wrong it will take Michael's expertise to resolve it, if he can. Michael is walking a fine line, but many attorney's in this situation do. Michael is nobody's fool. |

So either him or Nick are guilty of a crime. I just have to laugh because there is no way in hell Victor or Nick ever gonna spend a day in jail after what TGVN just went through. Why do they insist on making non-deserving/non-working Gloria/Jeffrey rich, are they finally gonna have TGVN pay them off so those two fools can stay on the show and be wealthy. LOL |

Victor did not tell Michael not to say this to his family. He did not ask him to keep this confidential and I don't think that Victor would mind for his family memebers to know as he is going to tell them all anyway. I don't see a problem here. Family attorneys always have the best interest of the family at heart if they are good. Michael was helping Phyllis feel easier to make her decision. He is a friend and was betraying no confidence. I watched the episode so I feel like I can comment on it. I think that Michael is very apprehesive about helping Gloria and Jeffery. He was out in the hallways for quite awhile arguing about it with them. When he came back in he really didn't know how the heck they talked him into it. He looked like he had been hit by a truck. |

HMMM! the thing is that the CAYMAN ISLANDS and the banking system there is known as a TAX-HAVEN for the very wealthy . The rich put their moneies, investment portfolios, and TAX-SHELTERS with bogus corporations there in the CAYMAN's to HIDE money from the U.S. GOVERNMENT. TGVN, JILL, and DUMB & DUMBER were "all" trying to HIDE money from the U.S. GOVERNMENT. It seems to me that TPTB were trying to shadow current events somewhat by having a bank collapse(there have been over ONE-HUNDRED collapse in the U.S. in the last year). In the U.S. many of us know that the FDIC insures depositers up to 100,000.00 and just recently I believe CONGRESS raised that to $250,000.00 which the banks in CAYMAN do NOT have their government backing federal deposits. Many of the depositors who are depositing in the CAYMAN ISLANDS are doing so because the are hiding monies or the money has come from illegal activities such as drug-running or illegal arms sales. I do find it very unusual for JILL to have all or most of her money in ONE bank because she has always been written to be an astute and savy businesswoman. DUMB & DUMBER, well that is another story altogether. TPTB may be going in another direction because PRESIDENT OBAMA has stated that he will go after people who are "hiding" money from the IRS! NICK did give TGVN some info about rumors of problems in the bank BUT even though BANKS rarely have all of the money that depositers have at the bank itself(because they are investing the cash to make more money)TGVN did cause a panic of sorts when he pulled his money out of the bank. It was his "right" to do so. I'm just not sure that the insider trading is something that the SEC(which governs the STOCK MARKET) or the FDIC(which governs U.S. banks) can do anything in this case because the bank is in the CAYMAN ISLANDS. Whatever happens it looks like to me that ALL concerned were trying to avoid paying TAXES to our governmenmt because they are/were GREEDY). as far as MICHAEL goes, it does look like a conflict of interest and I wounder if he could be disbarred. But maybe he will simply resign as TGVN's personal lawyer while ole VIC "slithers" out of town................................. |
