Scotty..Lauren's neglect of him is a mystery. After his father, Dr. Scott Grainger dies Lauren is in LA where Scotty is never seen (B&B). After leaving LA, Lauren traveled the world as CEO dropping into LA and GC from time to time while Scotty was at boarding school. Lauren was never seen raising her son because she left that responsibility to boarding schools. Shame on her.
When she nad Michael were planning their wedding she was evasive when Michael asked questions about him. It took him and Kevin - using her cell phone - to trace him to Toronto where Michael went to meet him without Lauren knowing. Lauren was not happy about that but Michael reduced her anger to understanding when he explained how he hated "family secrets" mentioning his own family secrets.
At the time of their wedding, Scotty was a 24 yr old working on his Masters and writing a book with the help of Brenda/Sheila!
So.......moving forward what happened to Scotty? Why did Lauren keep him in the shadows of her life throughout his entire life not even expecting/wanting him at her wedding to Michael? Here we are today with wonderful Lauren...devoted wife and mother..kind and thoughtful Lauren. But...how did she evolve into this maternal person without ever keeping her son close? This is one big dark hole in her life by her own design. Does anyone know why?

Lauren was a devoted mother, she kept Scotty away for his own protection. She felt they only way he was safe was to be out of the country away from Sheila.

She was not happy about Michael visiting Scotty because she thought it would leave a trail for Sheila to find him.

She had no idea that Sheila had already found him and was seeing him.

Its always been about protecting Scotty!!!

We're suppose to think they see each other ocassionally. Seems like Lauren went somewhere with Fen a few months ago, I don't remember if it was to Scotty.

But like Paul, years later after his son was left in California with Isabella's parents, we find out they have a close relationship!!! LOL, who knew! Paul told Heather, he sees his son on a regular basis.

I too hate it when they drop the parents or kids like they never existed. I keep waiting and hoping JT's parents would come to town to meet their new grandson, Reed.

Then there's Dina Mergeron, who shows up for Katherine's funeral for an hour or so and poof she's gone. Doesn't even stay to visit with her own children and grandchildren. Nor does she come to the hospital to be with Traci and Colleen or the funeral. So sad!

They should bring back the parents and children more often. Especially during the highs and lows in their lives.

Lauren has always kept an apartment near to where ever Scotty went to school or lives so she can go visit him quite often. Scotty returned to Canada and she just recently came back from visisting him. Lauren was even talking to Michael in the GCAC about Fen and the ducks at the lake while in Canada.

Sorry, but you need to listen more carefully - when Lauren was away recently, Michael made reference to Lauren having a good time with Scott in Canada. They have had some phone conversations too -- I think in one even, Lauren asked if he needed her to come to Canada for something and he said it was okay -- and they have made other references too - granted not often - but they have - simple things like maybe Michael saying "Lauren was catching Scott up on what's happening with Nick and Phyllis" (not exact - but you get the idea...)

Lauren goes away for about three weeks every September which coincides with Tracey Bregman's family vacation every two weeks in August.

It seems that she rotates these visits between either Scotty or her mother. The year Fen was born, I remember Lauren returning and talking to Michael about Scott being so excited about having a new sibling. The next year her mother broke her hip. Then last year, she visited Joanna where Fen fed the ducks and visited with his other grandmother. This year, she and Michael talked about her and Fen visiting Scotty and Fen being worried the whole time about not feeding the ducks at the pond. Lauren has also had a few calls where she tells Michael about Scott.

Obviously, she keeps in contact with him. We just don't see it. Honestly though I think it would be interesting to see Scott return and be jealous that Lauren is not only raising her own son with Michael but also Michael's teen sister. Even though he might accept what Lauren did to portect him it would still be natural that he be jelous that Fen and Eden have two parents and a mother who is very present in their lives.
