I do think that it is ironic that Jack has been in the middle of these WTD storylines and never became a father. He wants so badly a chance to make up for his absentee father ways, that it would not surprise me to find out Summer is really is.

In my opinion, I think Summer was initially written to be Jack's, which would've paved the way for a SHICK reunion. The writer's didn't show the DNA test to the viewers for a reason.

However, the PHICK v. SHICK storyline became too intriguing for the writers to let go. You can see the conflict it drives on this board alone, especially when they first got together. I think that initially, the writers assumed that everyone would be Team Sharon (such as myself), considering Phyllis' history. But to their surprise, there were quite a few Team Phyllis fans as well. So this left the writer's torn as to what to do. So now they are just milking it for all it's worth.

So I blame all PHICKsters for this delayed reunion!! Just kidding. It's all good. But I do think that the writer's changed their minds about Summer's paternity.


Ha Ha! You're right! Anything is possible, especially in soapland. I think that you are right on the money when you said that Summer was written to be Jack's. Then the storyline dictated another direction. Whether Summer is Jack or Nick's, I hope that the storyline is revisited and confirmed.


I just think it was weird for them not to show the viewers the results. I think the writer's wanted to keep it up in the air so that they could pull this little gem out of their pocket whenever they have a writing stump.

We may not find out until Summer is grown. So it is a possibility. They had no problems dragging out the Neil/Malcom WTD s/l. After the incident happened, the writers decided to back away from this storyline, and then...poof....it reappears when Lily is an adult.

We are taking about the writers here, No one has any ideal in this but the writers,The writers always have something up there sleeves and we don't no whats going to happen next, I for one would love to see Jack and Phyllis get back together and that Summer is really Jack daughter, That would be a great story line. Jack would be a great dad to Summer and to booth Jack and Phyllis back together would be the icing on the cake, I think Phyllis did something with the DNA, I don't think Nick lied,Phyllis is the one who lied.Phyllis wanted Nick and what better way to get him,This is Phyllis we are talking about.

nick is not summer's dad. as for when it will come out, who know if ever. the writers stated they would never bring out the story about lily's bio father, and look what they did. were they just picking on dru cause they didnt like her? and phyllis is so buddy buddy with the writers(grrrrr).

I remember reading in the spoilers of this message board that Summer would be sick and that it would be said Jack was the daddy of Summer. Like many spoilers don't always come true it was probably because someone either an actor or the director of this show wanted it not to happen. But now that we have new writers and if they don't want to be called out on this it will be that she is indeed Summer Jacklyn Abbott. As for little Faith she is Nick. Too many things pointing to it and we all know that Sharon would not have said it wasn't, she did tell Jack she was his, but immediately told him the truth. Faith is a gift from Cassie to Nick and Sharon.

So many people are seeing Nick in this baby for her not to be his.

As for Summer having Nick's eyes, well his are blue and so are smiling Jack-O. There has not been anything else indicating she was anyone else but his.

IMO...Summer's paternity is up in the air. They could write that either way.

As for Faith, she's Nick's baby because:

1) Sharon had the paternity test that said it was (and was going to show Nick until the peanut butter debacle)

2) Nikki made a couple of comments on how Faith looks "so much like Nicholas" when he was born

Phyllis made the comment that Faith has "Newman eyes"

4) Because Cassie said so to Nick back in the day


But the writers could keep Summer as Nick's because it would make for a good rivalry when the two sisters are older


Perhaps you should remember when Phyllis and Nikki both said that Summer also had the Newman eyes, Nick's specifically. Summer is Nick's little girl and I can assure that it won't change. I really think that this subject has been done to death in hopes for a change, but it doesn't seem to be having any effect, which is why I think it keeps coming up. I believe that it is just a a waste of time because I don't think that it will ever change. Summer is Nick's daughter and I believe that Faith will turn out to be an Abbott. It would just serve to make the show more interesting and not so predictable. The writers seem to feel the same way because they are not changing it and they have said that they probably never will when it comes to Summer. The fact that there is a question about Faith is no so far fetched. Sharon slept with three men and any one of them could turn up the father. Mistakes are made all of the time and in this case, it is not something that wouldn't turn up for Faith.

I couldn't disagree more.

Sharon did what she did to save a marriage. Phyllis did what she did for her own selfish agenda.

And Sharon lied to Jack, all of what, one week. It really wasn't that long before she came to her senses.

Yes Sharon lied, but in the grand scheme of things, her actions saved a marriage, an action that Phyllis herself, had to thank Sharon for.

There is absolutely no comparison.

I'm with you Nick did not lie....he was duped.

Hence why he took off. Cause when he came back he still wanted to be with Sharon but nooooooooooooo she was not having any babymama drama...she knows Phyllis all too well.

Can't say I blame her at all. Even though it still didn't stop her from tearing up her private things.

Lies are Lies no matter why you are lieing it is wrong and it hurts people and she never told nick the truth he over heard sharon talking to her mom and no matter what was going on with summer nick had every right to know that faith was his daughter and to know that cassie was right,IMO it was very selfish the way she handled the whole thing nick is a grown man he can handle it as for phyliss she would have to deal with it herself she knew nick cheated and it could be his child.

Like it or not.....Ms. P. "been there done that".....DNA tampering is her forte.... Summer Jacklyn Abbott it will be.....and little Faith will be the apple of Nick's eye...

I think Genoa City DNA lab loves the two families!! My gosh doesn't anyone know who their parents are!1 Do these very rich priviledged people ever use birth control! Jeeps..a bunch of lab rats.. it gets sort of tiresome everytime a baby is born something goes wrong. As a viewer I am getting cynical.. personally I just want Drew to come back and spice up this show..Drew was so funny. Plus Amber needs a good hair colour..too brassy now..and Sharon needs an updated cut..her hair drives me crazy. DNA HO HUM!
