Does anyone else think Devon's character needs some better storylines? They need to give him a rival. They need to give him a compelling relationship.
I think if Little Nate returns, they could fight over a girl. That would put the girl in the middle, and Lily may somehow be caught in the middle of her brother and her cousin. I think that would be a good storyline.
In the end, Devon needs to go head to head with someone - not Neil. Nate needs to come to GC and take Roxanne from Devon. That would be good. Lots of drama. And it would give the Winters family some more members and story. Something which they are lacking as of lately.
Anyone else think Devon needs a nemesis?!?!

I totally agree about using Devon more. He is actually a terrific actor and deserves a juicy storyline. When will the writers understand that its alright to have Devon or any of the Winters interact with characters outside of themselves. I do love the idea of bringing little Nate back and having him and Devon be rivals for Roxy even. Tatianna Ali is perfect and deserves more airtime as well. I hope the writes don't continue to waste Bryton's talent.

Thank Goodness someone agrees! The character of Devon has been filling the tv screen with SNOOZEFEST storylines. BORING and NOT THE LEAST BIT INTERESTING. I like the actor though, he fits in with the family. So let's just get him a rival and watch the character fly!

Yes, I totally agree. I know the actor has the chops to carry a heavy story, but the writers don't invest the time to really cast him to the forefront. What really surprises me is that Bryton has won an Emmy for his role. I would think they would take that into consideration when writing for him. He's obviously good! If they could just get Dru back and give them all a good story, I would be happy fan.

YR15yrs I'm for anything that will give Devon (and the rest of the Winters for that matter (including Cane now) ) a good; viable s/l. Why are these particular characters/actors backburned I have to question. And sorry to Billy fans, but it is obvious that he is the goldenboy of the show. He's everywhere, talking to everybody, and on practically everyday. Neil has been on this show over 20 years and they choose to not even give him a s/l. Then they have Devon do something crazy and disgusting like sleep with Tyra. I get mad every time I think about it. Neil and Devon are good characters that deserve a decent s/l with and separate from Lily. And while I'm at it Lily and Cane deserve good s/ls and to be on more than 3 minutes once a week.

Sorry that I strayed from your initial post YR15yrs, but I look at the Winters clan as a whole and the material and airtime that they've been getting lately and I'm thoroughly upset.

At one time I thought he and Daniel would be rivals and then they drop that, but it seems they only have him attacking his Sisters Husbands and I don't like that at all, remember Lynn Marie Latham was about to make the sick s/l with Him wanting Lily disgusting to say the least, it just seems to me Y&R doesn't know what to with him other that to Use him as an Exit strategy for other Characters talk about ticks me off every time. No Respect for the Emmy Nomination for Y&R along with him winning one of his own.

Ok I know I'm going to catch heat for this b/c I know how the majority feels. But I remember that time when they storyline was going toward Devon having feelings for Lilly and I was interested to see it play out a little. I mean, lets be real, Devon and Lilly met when they were about 17,18yrs old. It wouldn't be soo far fetched to have them develop some sort of feelings for each other. I know, I know thats his adopted sister. But I always thought the characters might go really well together.

^Treyca923228 Christel Khalil said on a blogtalk one time that when she was told that tptb wanted to put her and Devon together romantically, she told them that she couldn't do it because Bryton was/is too much like a real brother to her. I wouldn't have liked her and Devon together anyway. They really need to try and develop Tatiana Ali's character Roxanne. The characters of color (and Cane since he's married to Lily) deserve/need good viable writing.

I totally agree that the Winters need some good stories. The potential is there..the acting could be phenomenal. I just wonder why the writers can't give these longstanding characters - Neil, Olivia, Lily, etc. some good stuff. The cancer storyline was boring. The Tyra/Karen Ana/Adoption storyline was also a snooze. While I liked some of the scenes with Karen, it was nothing that I couldnt have done without. I remember a time when Nate and Olivia and Malcom and Keesha and Dru and Neil and Mamie were all on the canvas and dishing out awesome stories. Let's get Neil and Olivia some juicy storylines. We know they can do it. And if little Nate comes back, I don't want Olivia to pull a 'Nina' and start getting all ancy when he starts dating - BORING. I guess I'm a little off the subject, but all in all, I want to see the Winters/Barbers families in some good storylines, and bringing Nate into the picture would be a GREAT START!

Well first of all it's to bad that the writers didn't take the Winters Family into a good S/L its a waste such talent and a Very Good looking Family All Educated, Conservative, and Lots of Class, a Family that sticks together know matter what (why the writers saw fit to put Devon and Tyra in a love Scene is beyound me ) it made no sense, right after that BAM! shes gone, Olivia a Smart intelligent Dr. What' Whatha" where is she? Neil a Shot of him every now and then (Handsome Young Man) Roxann Wheres her Lines she young they got Crazy-Nutty-Confused,(Jana, and Amber, and Chloe) runing all over GC looking like they belong in a Psych. Hosp. So why not give some GOOD-Lines to the other Actors and Actress, they can be the Up Holding Family of GC, showing how you can be a loving and Honest Demure Family with the Biggest and Best Club ever INDIGO' Devon is Young why is'nt he out mixing with the other young people BUT UG! Wait Back-Up, Sorry NO he Really DON'T need to Mix with the other young people they stay in trouble, they have done everything possible, sorry Devon i was'nt thinking. Daniel, Kavin, Jana, Chloe, Amber (never mind)

Devon's hook up with Tyra s/l was such garbage. It was out of character and a glaring mistake, IMO. YES, Devon needs much better s/l...how about he and Lane run Indigo? That would be fun.

Devon is on recurring status. I wanted him to find his father....Funny if it is Tucker!
