I am really really trying not to lean that way to, but after the whole "ballon boy" debaucle, and the jon and kate crap, I can't help but also wonder if this was a publicity stunt. And before you go there Oreo and Puddy ; I did read the articles and followed the stories I just am jaded right now about believing what I read, lol

WHAT!!!??? You are accusing Oreo and I of possibly telling you to read the article? !!!

Actually, Eric was planning on adding Kate's children to his long list of offspring and taking them on a balloon ride, but that kind of fell through, so he decided to go back to Y&R.

P.S. READ THE ARTICLES!!!

I don't know. I've read opinions from both sides, and just as long as he's staying, I'm satisfied.

It wasn't Eric Braden that wanted to leave to begin with. It was Sony tightening the noose for the money. I don't blame Mr. Braden for becoming so incensed by what was being done to him at all. I believe that when Sony screwed with his contract and treated him so shabbily, he decided to blast them and that is exactly what he did. He did it because he was prepared to tell them to shove it! Contracts being what they are, he has good lawyers. I would have bet on that. I think that when Eric Braden flexed his stroke and power of his years in the industry started to show itself, Sony couldn't take the heat. Truth is, stock market being what it is these days, investors on shakey ground also, Sony tightening its belt, Sony probably caved under the pressure. The investors probably didn't want to upset the applecart and didn't want the kitchen to get any hotter.
So they penned a better deal with Braden and called it a day, thank you lawyers! However, now that this has been done, what does this do for Mr. Braden. The fact that he went this far airing out the dirty dealings of Sony, not to mention some dirty laundry, he has shown his power. Corporations usually don't like that kind of power looming over them and Mr. Braden seems to have the stroke of thirty years of dedication and hard work and probably a huge network in the business. It will be interesting.

Yes, it will be very interesting to see how Mr. Braden is treated going forward. I keep remembering what Victoria Rowell went through when she spilled the beans about the behind the scenes crap that happened to her while on the show. She basically has a scarlet letter on her now. Time will tell...

Well put Gencor!

That could very well be the way it went. Interesting to say the least. I always find it hypocritical of corporate heads who try to cut everyone's salaries but still rake in millions themselves and give themselves huge bonuses.I wonder how many of TIIC would take a paycut?

I wish he would just take Kate and "drop" her off somewhere. She's a piece of work!!

VR, to me, is an entirely different story. She really "bad mouthed" everybody and then kept it up. She is still doing it and expecting to be asked back. Don't think so.

But, anyway, EB did not bad mouth anybody. He was not saying the negative things about any of the actors or writers or MAB, as VR did - - he just simply said he did not appreciate them messing with him before his contract was over- - and the legal end kicked in.

I don't see any bridges burned here, like VR did.

He ain't going nowhere no time soon!

I think EB's ego was more at stake than anything... I agree,
he never planned to leave..... just pulled a Victor Newman
on them, the fans and Production company caved......rofl..
Yessssss I read the indepth interview.. and I saw through it... He never cared about the money... it was the way he
was treated.. "How dare they??"...... bla, bla, bla.. vintage Victor.

Watch on utube an interview with him regarding sex, nudity and other matters... it's not a stretch for him to play Victor.. but glad he's not leaving.. would have
caused other long time actors to loose their jobs...

But I am most interested in seeing how this new billionaire character will affect TGVN... and others.. Adam cannot and will not ever fill Victor's shoes... The writers have turned the "new" Adam into a "dark and evil" person.. TGVN is ruthless... but never evil...The old Adam had the same arrogance and rutlessness... I could see him eventually becoming powerful and ruthless... but tooo late now.. that character has been totally destroyed.

At least he is back! Can't wait to see what they do with him! I think that this was just a power struggle over contracts, but like I said, it will be interesting. Anytime someone lays in this kind of strength it does have its fallout.

What else is EB going to say? I have read other articles that paint a very different picture. EB is the one that started his press blitz and Sony was quiet for a while. I just find it curious that soon after his pay was made public he settled . I think Sony called his bluff and when Tucker was cast he decided to stop throwing a fit ,take his million dollars, and be quiet.
