I SEEN ON YAHOO WHERE IT SAID ERIC WILL TAKE A PAY CUT AN IS COMMING BACK TO Y&R ..HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY .IM SO HAPPY IT JUST WOULDNT BE RIGHT WITH OUT HIM..I HOPE THEY ARE NOT JUST LYING ABOUT THIS..ANYBODY ELSE SEE IT???

I saw it on EW.

OH I WAS SO HAPPY I THOUGHT NOBODY NEW YET, WELL THEN I GOT DONE AN WENT BACK TO THE BOARD AN SEE EVERYBODY ALL READY NEW

Of course he is; was there ever any doubt EB would stay? Further, was it a publicity stunt? Inquring minds want to know! LOL!!

EB as Victor Newman, is a cornerstone of Y&R; on the other hand, this has been his job, his life work for over 30 years. His staying is a win-win for both sides; for EB because at 70, jobs are hard to find AND whether you like Victor or not, he has a HUGE Fan Base and is the one consistent for the Show; for Sony/CBS because had he been allowed to leave, ratings would have suffered to be sure.

Now the question is--what happens to the Adam character since Victor is staying? Y&R jumped the gn on that one, did't they? LOL!!

Wow! Is this for real? If so, that's great news.
I wouldn't have stopped watching, but the show would
not have been the same without Victor.

Yipee. Even my hubby (who watches surreptiously!) will be happy--he thinks Victor is "cool" and without him, the show would not be worth watching. I do smell a rat though. Was it all a publicity stunt? Well, I doubt it but one never knows. Now, would that Adam would JUST GO AWAY, then things would really be terrific!

I just read that Sony signed a new deal with Victor. Guess this rumor is true. GREAT!!!!!!!

Well in the battle of Sony vs EB it seems as though EB blinked. Who would leave a job that pays 1mil. He was paid 1.5 before and will now still be the highest paid actor on the show with his 1million dollars. I think it was all a publicity stunt on EB's part. He sounded absurd when he said he was going to explore other options. He is 70 years old and has been playing the same character for nearly 30years. Where exactly was he planning to go and make the kind of money he was being paid even considering his salary reduction? I am happy for his fans but I think the show would have gone on without him.

I am so happy. I just read this too on soap central as breaking news. This is great now we hopefully get to see him and nikki together and i can't wait to see what they do about the ranch situation. looks like our emails and boycotts helped, maybe.

First, THANK YOU to all parties involved in reaching an agreement. This ugly rainny Saturday is now wonderful.

Second, for all of you who think that Eric being 70 and cannot find other work is absurd. Men in this business can find acting jobs no matter the age. He doesn't look 70 and is fantastic shape. Even if he doesn't act he can direct or produce. This man can would have had many options in this business.

Either way, I am so glad that this agreement has been reached.

I think Victor is worth every penny of his one million dollars that he gets. I've never seen a better actor. He really is unreplaceable.
