The Young and the Restless is about get a happy ending.

Eric Braeden, the longtime star of the CBS soap, has agreed to take a pay cut and return to the show, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

The actor, 68, had been expected to leave the show following its Nov. 2 episode. Young and the Restless' entire cast and crew were asked to take pay cuts earlier this year, but Braeden refused to take the reduction and walked off the show's set in September.

Braeden's return, first reported by The Wrap, is even more shocking considering his recent comments to Entertainment Weekly that he had "pulled the plug" on recent contract negotiations.

It is not yet known when the actor, who has been with the soap since 1980, will officially return.

I honestly thought it had gone downhill too far to be saved because Sony treated EB so poorly during negotiations.

I feel like EB stood up for the rest of the vet actors and put Sony on notice. They deserve respect for making Y&R number one for decades.

I hope that is is true. Maybe all of these postings in support for Victor paid off hey? Let's hope so because if it isn't true, I will be gone with him after Nov. 2nd. Please let it be true. If you noticed though his character doesn't look like it is going to be written off or killed anytime soon. Unless, he gets another heart attack. I don't think that he will be killed off simply because they must leave it open in case he does come back. Wouldn't it be great if he really ends of staying and Dru also comes back. What a treat that would be. Maybe that is what Lilly's surprise is going to be in November. Maybe her mother comes back. Oh God let it happen. The I will watch this show until the end of it.

I really believe that Sony would have never buckled if it had not been for some really great lawyers representing Eric Braden. A contract is a contract. I also believe that Eric Braden has been around long enough to know how the game is played and he played it very well. This man has alot of stroke and he went on an all out campaign to bring the truth out about how Sony does business, I am sure that all of those interviews about what Sony was doing didn't help their company investors any. These are shakey times in the investment world of Wall Street and Sony couldn't afford to take that kind of bad press, it always makes investors nervous. I really admire Eric Braden and I admire how he handled this in a very unique and typical Victor Newman style! Sometimes fiction can become reality and Eric Braden pulled this one off like the pro that he is! Welcome Back, Eric! Y&R would never be the same without you!!!!

Since Eric Braden is returning I can think of another famous words he could say. It was spoken by Arnold and he said, "I'll be back". And this is so true for Victor. He always returns.
