Chloe did not tell the truth Billy told Lily and then she could not deny it. Lily told both Chloe and Billy to tell Cane or she would. As far as ripping Delia from her mother goes, didn't Chloe set him up and torture Lily with her big belly and keep the lie going for 8 months because Cane would be a good dad? Cane was just trying to give Billy and Chloe what they both said they wanted. Cane's paternal skills were the reason they both gave for their lies. |

You are right....Cane went to the cabin to chuck his family plan with Chloe and take Lily back....then the baby came and that ended that. He choose a family, a baby and Chloe over his love for Lily. |

I disagree that he chose a family "with" Chloe over Lily, he decided to be there for the baby and it had nothing to do with Chloe. This is where the rewrite makes things weird. Cane arrives and finds out that the baby has been born and that Chloe is near death. What is he supposed to do? Is he going to wrap up the kid and take Lily by the hand? Since at this time Cane is a good guy and not a fraud that knew that the child was not his he decides to care for the baby and not just leave the child's mother. I guess i never saw Cane as wanting to build this life with Chloe. They were going to co-parent and that was all. |

My suspicions were right. THe hints were there...but ignored by some and that led to disappointment by the fans and heartache for many many people and families in GC. Secondly,here is where the writing went off the page........ co parenting was the deal..so why did Cane opt to marry Chloe and Lily urge him to? Yeah "to do the right thing". For who? Any shrink will tell you couples staying together in a loveless marriage is the wrong thing to do for children. Lily convinced Cane to commit to a loveless marriage and a life of celibacy while she went off on the internet to find her true love...how she met Billy and hit the sheets with him? Meanwhile Cane knew he wasn't the father all along (which he later admitted) but opted for a "family" the reason he came to GC even attempted to take Dehlia from her mother knowing he was not the father. When the truth came out he still ranted about being better for the baby. It was only when Karen tried to rip Anna from her mother (the only one she knew as her mother anyway) and Neil spoke up and told the truth in court that Lily convinced Cane he should do the same. Cane and Chloe should have opted for co parenting not marriage. |

On that we do agree Oreo, Cane and Chloe should have never married but I guess that was to cause more angst. I think Lily started to look on the internet because she was heartbroken and needed to force herself to move on. Imagine seeing the man you love and his supposed ONS everywhere you go. I still don't get the idea that Cane so desperately wanted a baby that he would agree to be with Chloe when he could have had Lily. The whole idea that Cane knew for all those months and still married Chloe just rings hollow for me. The man we saw all those months was a man that believed that he was the father of this woman's child and that he was going to be a good father to his baby. Then in order to make to "brilliant" move of bringing back PC3 he was a liar that knew all along the baby was not his. I know it is a soap and history is rewritten all the time. Cane was a liar and fraud but is winning back Lily and Chloe was a liar and manipulator that seems to have genuine feelings for Chance. I guess it is time to move on the next chapters in these character's lives. |
