Let's all just think positive and realize that show will turn around SOON!

They are tying up some loose ends now, I believe to make head way for some very good viewing.

Have to believe that my beloved show will not falter and keep being bashed. The writers are wacked, but when have they not written some weird s/l's. Anyone that has watched this show for over 25+years will remember that nutso Shawn--he put Lauren in that box. What about the character that hid Victoria in a tree house on the Newman property. We can't forget the guy Nina was married to David--and that strange s/l.

It will soon be happening. To be honest the past week or so the soap has been really good-fast paced and non-stop drama.

I totally agree with you, Slky, and am glad to see another positive thread opened here. Like you, I have been watching almost since Y&R started and it did have some "dark" storylines that I definitely remember. It can't be all sunshine and the way we all want it to be, that's for sure.

I am looking forward to the rest of the week with the storylines around Victor, poor Colleen, Sharon going into labor, evil Adam, etc. Would also like to see Patty once again to make sure she is not up to something else at the hospital.

Good point about the past storylines being really dark. I just wish that they would have a happy storyline to coincide with these dark storylines, like a happy romantic couple or a great mystery.

The romantic couple of course is Kay & Murphy. The mystery is going to be who is Ryder's mom.

This is all going to come about soon. More romantic couples to see would be Michael & Lauren. Cane & Lily, Jana & Kevin, & finally Amber & Daniel are all great couples but they have strife at the moment.

The Winters will be returning with the recast of Malcom! That should be wonderful, especially because Neil thinks he runs Lily. Malcom was so laid back--Also a good pairing for Phyllis, since they were such friends.

I totally agree! I do think that some have been drawn out a little to long but these actors are doing a great job! Cant wait to see crazy Patty stirring up trouble and Adam gettin caught! And soapsforever3, great idea! I too think adding mystery s/l would be great!

Kay and Murphy are great but they are not on enough to compensate for the tragic death of a beautiful young girl and a legacy character.

Agreed. All soaps go through phases of dark off-the-wall story lines. It is part of the evolution of soaps! I am thrilled they are wrapping up some long storylines and can see new ones that are soon to develop. I think it is crazy to keep bashing the writers everytime we don't like where the story is going. It is their story to tell, not ours. Our only job is to be entertained. They day I am not entertained, I will stop watching...not likely to happen though

It almost seems like around the spring the stories start to drag on than that carries itself on right thru the summer time. It would almost appear like the writers take holidays and no one wants to write too many complicated s/ls while there is a shortage of staff. Once the summer is over, we are back to the wrapped up s/ls with great stories and acting again. I've been watching alot of years and it seems to be the pattern. I guess as the fans we need to just be patient and realize the even writers have to have a break from their work once in awhile.

The reason for the slow story lines in the summer is usually due to the fact that "kids" are off from school. They gear s/l's towards the younger crowd & usually have a theme--such as--drunk driving, teens having safe sex, teenage pregnancy, &/or a particular disease--and so on.

Looking forward to the mystery of Ryder's mom, Sharon's new love, & Patty (bet she's pregnant with Jack's baby)getting better.
