Quote Eppy: There's also going to be another twist in this story. Katherine's REAL daughter who is out there somewhere. The one she had with Judge Arthur Hendricks who we assumed was Jill until DNA proved otherwise. If Phillip III can come back from the dead, can't Katherine's real daughter show up anytime? This will be interesting! And, Jill also has a real set of biological parents out there somewhere too! What a mess.
Yes, sure hope TPTB wrap up that s/l with a brand new bouncing baby GIRL. Congratulations Katherine "IT'S A GIRL...............................Jill won't like that.
Absolutely. Despite the fact that Jill seems to want nothing to do with Katherine, a new daughter in the picture will see Jill's nose go out of joint.

Just watched BRENDA DICKSON'S last episode & it was about Phillip FOSTER petitioning the court on his 18th birthday to have his name changed to PHILLIP CHANCELLOR the third. Kay was actually making sure that PHILLIP had representation and intially Jill was opposed but changed her mind. Making PC3 a legitimate heir, finally after all those years. What was so ironic was that before the judge granted his petition she asked him if he was trying to "HIDE" from anyone by changing his name? Another clip was LARRY WHARTON dressed as a cop stripping for Jill. I had remembered him stripping BUT not the THONG her wore. Of course he flashed Jill but kept his shirt on so as not to expose his "cheeks". Who remembers that scene w/the handcuffs????????????????????????????????????????????? Bring back LARRY for JILL.

I remember that scene - I put it in my bookmarks in case anyone was interested in seeing it - I think it's still there. I also have the one where he climbed down the drain pipe from Jill's bedroom window to avoid Esther at the door, and darn near fell into Katherine's arms as she was sitting at a table on the patio. Great stuff!!

Quote clicquot1:
Quote Eppy: I can't imagine that Jill would have a leg to stand on regarding Chancellor Industries - she is not an heir. The only heirs were Phillip III and Phillip IV. The only way Jill could somehow profit is through the inheritance of her and Phillip II's son, Phillip III. She is not a spousal heir because her death-bed marriage to Phillip II was annualed. Katherine is the legal spousal heir. As far as I can figure, with Katherine being legal owner of CI, she can will it to whomever she wishes - whether it be someone with the Chancellor heritage or not! Phillip III, and consequently IV, have already received their portion of Phillip II's inheritance.

You are correct JILL is NOT a LEGAL HEIR but PC3 is. According to the terms of the will, Phillip was to have assumed ownership of CI on his 21 st birthday(I was wrong he didn't own it at the time of his death)and because he died B4 his 21st birthday Katherine retained ownership.(one source has him owning it before his 21st b-day and CI reverting back to her, but...)Because PC3 didn't die according to the will he is the OWNER of CI just like when Katherine was alive and her will was then voided(stock of JABOT etc.). So, to me the fight will come when Jill realizes this and convinces PC3 to go along with her and fight for CI.

Here's what can possibly come into play if there's a big fight over CI:

PC 3 coming back to GC brings up a whole new set of problems about his and Cane's passports and dual citizenship.

Cane's visa was due to expire when he arrived in GC. Amber came up with the idea of getting married so he could stay in the U.S., and a chance to secure a wealthy lifestyle.

When Cane took the 2nd DNA test and proved to be Jill's son, Jill made arrangements to have the legal documents fixed so he would now have dual citizenship and documents saying he was born in the U.S.

Cane and PC 3 not only told lies like everyone else in GC but they were both involved with major corporations and people's livelihood.

PC 3 and Cane could be in a heap of trouble, if TPTB go that route. They have both committed fraud and using false identies. Cane worked for Chancellor Industries and Jabot as CEO. He made major decisions and signed contracts and other legal documents, which include interstate and possibly foreign countries.

Katherine or someone else could use this information as a bargaining chip in the legal battle. There could be lots of twists and turns in the future for this storyline.

The greatest reason for the feud between Katherine and Jill is because of:

Phillip Chancellor III was the love child of Jill Foster and Phillip Chancellor II, as Phillip's father was married to Katherine at the time of conception. Though Jill and Phillip II were married on his deathbed, Katherine had the marriage legally invalidated, stopping any inheritance to Jill or her son-and use of the Chancellor name. (Soap Central biography)

I cannot find anywhere where Phillip III was to inherit Chancellor Industries when he turned 21. He was to inherit a trust as I recall which went on the Phillip IV.

Oh, right, Katherine's daughter! She may end up getting a similar deal like Brock did in the will. Brock got a percentage of Katherine's estate plus he was selected to be in charge of the Chancellor Foundation (charities, etc).

Eppy, I've been going through the Y&R books about the ownership of Chancellor Industries. Here's what I found:

In 1976, when Jill and PC 2's marriage was invalidated (while she was pregnant). The court declared Katherine the sole legal heir to her husband's estate and properties. Jill was ordered to return all property and monies.

When PC 3 was a month old, Jill went back to court asking for 1/2 of PC 2's estate on her son's behalf. The court denied her petition to re-open the case because she had nothing in writing to substantiate her claims.

The court kept the earlier ruling of Jill & PC 2's marriage as invalid. Any children born of that union was considered illegitimate and has no legal rights to make any claims of the estate. The court ruled in Katherine's favor and she is the sole heir to all of PC 2's estate.

-----

When Katherine married Derek Thurston, she set up a $100,000 trust fund to Jill's son if Derek promised not to reveal to anyone that their relationship was only a platonic one. At the end of the year, PC 3 would get the trust fund and Derek would get his dream salon "The Golden Comb".

When PC 3 died in 1989, along with an inheritance/trust fund he probably had insurance policies with Nina and PC 4 being the beneficiaries.

In one of the Y&R coffeebooks, it stated that Nina was an heir to the "Chancellor estate". This was years after the death of PC 3.

In Katherine's last will (2008), each of her grandchildren received 1/4 of one percent in trust. After all was said and done, Jill got the remainder of the assets.

Oh well, half the fun is speculating!!!

These days, TPTB can change the court ruling or once again re-write history.

Oh heck yeah, we can expect the writers to change anything and everything to make the 'shoe fit', just as they have done with so many revisions in the past. Drives me nuts!!!!

It's fun to remember Larry..but even him driving up on his hog ain't gonna help Jill get over her "dead son walking" after 20 years and Cane's deception disguising himself as the REAL PC !!! Jill and Katherine as well as Nina have 20 years of mourning to erase knowing all the while PC was ALIVE..every holiday (Christmas) birthday...anniversary...and Nina having her son grow up without his father. It is hard enough to know you don't have a father...but how do you comprehend that you don't have a father when he is alive and doesn't want to be your father? Very painful. And lied...deceived everyone????

Nina may just find her first son and soon. It has been a long time since she last looked....more than 20 years and techniques (including DNA) are available now that weren't then.

CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR THE EXCUSES THAT WILL ROLL OFF THESE TWO SELFISH MEN PC III AND CANE!

What I'd like to know, wasn't there a body in that grave when they dug him up the first time?...or, was that when Cane first began his deception. I thought they took some DNA from the body when they tried to determine Cane's paternity. Whose body was in the grave, if anyone was there? I know the casket has sand bags in it now - what the hell?

Wouldn't Nina want to find out that truth also???

He's lied about everything else, why not his age too?

She tried and tried - had help trying...to no avail. Can't say she didn't try. The urgency now was for a different reason and her instincts urged her to disprove Cane as being the "switched baby" and Chancellor heir. Say what you will...she was right! She was annoyingly antaganistic when confronting Cane...but it worked and the truth came out. Had to and was the right thing to do no matter who was hurt. She is also hurt finding an empty grave and will be hurt even more ............

Excellent post!! You hit the nail on the head. However, I was thinking, wouldn't it be wild if Cane was Nina's first child? I mean, he was supposed to be homeless and no family when PC3 met him. Who is his family? Where did he come from?

Cane is WAY too old to be Nina's first child. He was born in 1976 (or 1975 or whenever) and Nina's first son was born in 1986.

William Bardwell was there during the exhumation and re-internment.

They didn't show him in the morgue. The DNA wasn't a match with Jill.

William delivered the lab results to Jill and Kay at Indigo.

That's what I thought - there was DNA testing done on the body., Boy, do the writers ever have some 'splaining to do in order to make all these discrepancies fall into some coherent storyline. I wonder if any of them are savvy enough to pull this one off!!

I'm also wondering how all this "stuff" will fall into place...but, back to the original ques/comment, will Nina find her #1 born son??? Seems she's a good enough investigator to pull it off...maybe she should start her own investigating service for Genoa City and compete with Paul and JT in that dept...she could call it: "Have Guts, Will Ask"...
