Great point and I totally agree. Phillip chose Cane he said because he felt he was the Phillip Chancellor that everyone wanted and so he turned out to be exactly that. He showed these people great love and in the end this I believe is what will help them heal and forgive. Their lives have been enriched 10 fold by Cane, who is a good guy.

But how do you know if a serial liar is a good guy? Just who is he? How can you believe anything he says? IMO Cane has some unresolved childhood issues and needs help. When he was telling Jill how much it meant to have her as his mom I swear I thought he looked like he wanted to suckle her teat.

Nina and Phillip never had a beautiful relationship. Phillip tolerated her for a short time, but he never loved her. Nina should be mad as he## at Phillip for years of lying and he is the one that sent Cane. Without Phillip, Cane would have never done what he did. I also find it interesting and very telling that Phillip said he chose Cane, because he was the Phillip he felt everyone wanted. Phillip saw a guy vulnerable and desparate to belong, and pulled him into this scheme. He saw in Cane, what the rest of us (his fans see) a good guy with a heart and deep down Jill, Kay, and Lily know this is true.

Six in one hand a half dozen in the other. Cane brought joy and happiness into the Chancellors and Lily's lives and vice versa. Being desparate to belong and vulnerable doesn't make Cane any less of a man and yes people often times keep the pain that they have experienced during childhood into their later lives. Cane being near 40 doesn't mean that he had a chance to deal with all the things that probably happened to him during childhood. Being motherless is a big and powerful thing and it's something you never quite get over, I know from experience. Cane does have a past, just as anyone, but this will not change the fact as I have said and many others that Cane has a heart and truly is a good guy.

So Lily has every right to livid with him and she has every right to leave him if thats what she chooses.

I didn't see people giving Cane a hard time when he ditched Amber to the curb, (especially in the cruel manner in which he did it) Amber still loved him, she was just misguided. But she deceived him, just like he deceived Lily.

Call a spade a spade. I love Sharon's character, but she is dead wrong for lying about her child's paternity. I won't defend that. I understand people liking Cane, but how in the world can his behavior be defended.

Now everybody's talking about Lily's reaction, she's immature, and Neil and Devon's actions. This has nothing to do with them. They will react as they see fit. Cane is the one that created this mess to begin with.


You see this is where everyone has gone wrong. Cane didn't start this, Philip did. If Philip had never gone to Australia, Cane wouldn't have known about GC or the Chancellors. Put the blame where it should be, squarely on PCIII's shoulders. Philip knew exactly how badly Cane wanted to belong and how much family meant to Cane so he played on that hoping that Cane would follow through, and Cane did just that. Now Philip has decided to come back and Cane is getting the brunt of verbal and physical abuse. No, man this is just so wrong. Philip set these events in motion when he faked his death 20 years ago, yet he gets a past but the kind, loving young man that he used is the town's outcast. This is totally unbelievable and just downright wrong. Come on be truthful and be fair about this.


Great post G4! This is exactly my point. Cane didnt start any of this. It wasnt his idea to come to GC and wreak all this havoc. This was PC3's idea and yet everyone is letting him off the hook and kicking Cane while he's already down. Its not fair. Phillip faked his own death! Isnt that a crime? He actually committed a crime and everyones acting like he did nothing wrong. Cane was just helping him out. Yes Cane knew it was wrong, but he wanted to help his friend. And can u blame him for wanting a family? Wouldnt u want to be loved and accepted after years of being alone, with no one to love or care for u? I feel for Cane. He's stuck between a rock and a hard place with no one to lean on for support.
