If Cane loves Lily why did he continue the deception and marry Chloe? All he had to do was substitute his blood for PC III's. He didn't preferring to keep PC's secret and lose Lily...he still would have a family..and a family - with whomever is what was important to him!

Chloe lied but told the truth BEFORE being caught thinking Cane would make a better father and Billy wouldn't take his responsibilities seriously. Then - she fessed up. Cane continued to pretend he was the father even going all out to fight for the right to be her father all the while knowing he was putting more agony upon more people;. Cane told the truth because he had no choice..he was caught..big difference!

Cane will be redeemed so the argument over his deception is moot. PC will be forgiven knowing the inner struggle he wrestled with in a time his sexuality would not have been accepted. Everyone will come to terms with both of them and the fraud they committed. Should each of them wait 20 years or 2 years to forgive them? No...but forgiveness will not come easy...but it will come!

cane is a good guy sure he made lots of mistake but he genuinely loves that family. phillip is the villain -he's selfish, self absorbed he used cane knowing how much cane wanted a family, then he comes back doesnt even let him know b4 he shows up, even worse he doesnt even have the good graces to defend him! what an ass. and nina treating cane like he's the worst thing that ever happened.
i hope jill and kath. forgive him he was and is a better son to her than either billy or "phillip" im using sarcastic quote marks here.

if all he wanted was to use them he had plenty of chances to swindle them out of their money, i mean he turned away the money kathrine offered him for his wedding and gave it to charity, quit jabot bc he was so loyal to jill i mean come on give him a break.

Lily does have a right to be angry and hurt and she needs time to figure things out. its nice of neil be want to protect her but he needs to back off alittle.
i hope cane and lily eventually work things out.

I love Cane I feel really bad for him. Regardless, I still think he's a good guy! It's not even his fault that he came to GC. And does anyone listen to him? Clearly he came there for the real Philip..not because of the money.
Anyways, I agree with what you said.

This is a soap and I do believe that Cane and Lily will end up back together.

But please people, let's keep it real. I'm not understanding all of this Lily bashing and Cane defending. Cane was wrong..plain and simple. You can't defend it.

You can still like him, but to try to make Lily out to be the bad guy after what HE did is deflecting from the real issue.

Cane may not be an overall bad guy, but HE DID choose his secret or his loyalty to P3 over his relationship with Lily. He gave her up to raise a child that HE KNEW wasn't his. So for him to come around the corner saying "you are my world, blah blah" is a little hard to believe.

So Lily has every right to livid with him and she has every right to leave him if thats what she chooses.

I didn't see people giving Cane a hard time when he ditched Amber to the curb, (especially in the cruel manner in which he did it) Amber still loved him, she was just misguided. But she deceived him, just like he deceived Lily.

Call a spade a spade. I love Sharon's character, but she is dead wrong for lying about her child's paternity. I won't defend that. I understand people liking Cane, but how in the world can his behavior be defended.

Now everybody's talking about Lily's reaction, she's immature, and Neil and Devon's actions. This has nothing to do with them. They will react as they see fit. Cane is the one that created this mess to begin with.

i hope this time cane will fight for lily and go after what he wants. and i hope lily will give him a chance but she should definitely let him grovel for a while.

Who's bashing Lily sj77? As a Lane fan I support both and yes as you said I believe Cane and Lily will find their way back together. My problem with Neil and Devon is the fact that they can be there for Lily, but for goodness sakes don't treat her like she's five years old. It's ridiculous for Neil to refer to her as his little girl. Devon needs to stop walking into Cane's house telling him shut up and don't give me any trouble. All this dialog is ridiculous. I loved the fact that Lily screamed at Cane and wanted answers, that was spot on, but Neil banging on the door and coming in their like big daddy hero was wrong. Let Lily hash things out in her own mind, that's the way she should be written. And with all that's going on, as the title of this thread suggest, Cane is still ultimately a good guy in my eyes.

did you see the look on Cane's face when he realized how much he had hurt them especially Lily-pure agony-i felt so bad for him.
