Quote DaytimeDreamer: Alright so as far as I can gather (I wasn't watching this show when Philip the third aka fake Philip aka dead Philip aka Jill's son was on, I'd never seen Nina before and had to look up their crazy crazy past)....Monday: Langley/Philip III reappears in everyones lives and proves he's more of a douche then fake real Philip III (aka Cane) whining about people expecting too much from him so he had to fake his death. Oh and what about his son well he was a teenager with a good job and his mom hated his wife and he was depressed and had a drinking problem so that cancels out abandonment apparently. So whiny! He looks mildly concerned that he gave Kay a stroke, but he's not hovering or anything - tho he does come down to the hospital. Nina or more accurately the actress who plays Nina is AMAZING (I hope she sticks around for a bit) and really lets him have it. Jill's on Philip's side and Kay's on Nina's. Philip has to go but promises not to disappear again...because hey, its NOT like he faked his death for 20 years and then just showed up on the patio uninvited during the 4th of July celebrations suddenly not as dead as he's supposed to be....Oh wait, YEAH HE DID! If I were Nina I'd be slipping some GPS tracking thing into his pocket before he skips the country again. Cane knew that Chloe was lying about him being the father but somehow got all worked up into playing the part...What the? Then WHY was he upset when she confessed? EXACTLY HOW NEW IS THIS STORYLINE? Alright here's what I don't understand- Why would Cane marry Chloe? Was Cane using Philip's DNA because he wanted to shirk all responsibility because he thought he HAD got Chloe pregnant? Wait wasn't he the noble, responsible one? Is Philip III actually Philip III because his DNA is similar to Delia's and Delia is Billy's? So what happened to the baby switch storyline? Was it just a bad dream? Is there still some 30 year old guy out there who could be Philip III? How did Amber get fooled? SO, wait...I'm supposed to believe Cane fooled Amber into thinking he was a Chancellor then got PO'd when he found out she fooled him? and the same with Chloe? Why is Cane so self-righteous? Hellooo...he's a liar! (maybe the writers should have decided this before Cane showed up) Oh and What was with Mac's guilty look when she saw the Chilly family hanging out? I get the feeling she's about to do more flip flopping on the do I don't I issue [sigh]. ____________________________________ Just to clarify, that was an amazing episode. I haven't been that into it since...um...since...hmm...I don't know. Everyone (sans Mac) really gave it their all. The best thing you can do is go to a website that has archives and catch up that way. But the writers really messed up this storline IMO, Cane is the sweetes guy ever and for them to embrace Phillip after he has pretend to be dead, concocted this scheme, didn't help Nina raise their child and rather fake death than bet with any of them. And NOONE can forgive Cane! W H A T E V E R! |

Why did PC3 send Cane to GC? Was it to try and make amends for what he had done? Did it take him 20 years to feel guilty? And how convient that Cane showed up just as Kay was remembering the so called baby switch. Unless she (Kay)is involved there is no way that PC3 knew that was going to happen. How did Cane/Pc3 know about Violet Mongomery? There is a lot more to this story (I hope). As for Cane playing along with the pregnancy, I guess he was already so involved that he had to keep the secret. Good acting on Cane's part, his emotions all seemed real to me. |

I think that when the Cane character came on the scene, there was obviously a crooked s/l intended, but the there was the whole producer/writer's from HE-- epidemic that sweeped through Y&R, and nearly killed the show off. I think this team of writers seem to be getting things back on track. I like the s/l, but I still say if they were gonna bring someone back from the dead, it should have been John Abbott. |

I will try to explain the WTD. Cane took a jaw DNA swabb. He quickly went to the clinic and payed the technician off and ask him to use the blood (PC3)he had stored in a freezer. The reason he wanted them to use the blood of PC3 is because he could not afford two different DNA results to be recorded on file for him. The first one he took matching Jill was also PC3's blood. He was sure the blood would not match since PC3 was in Australia and no male relatives of his lived in GC. He knew he couldn't be the Father because he was too drunk to function sexually. He was surprised when the blood came back a match and figured it to be Billy or PC4. Who was in Iraq. So Billy was the Daddy. He had no choice but step up since the test came back positive that he was the Daddy. I remember that Cane tried several times to convince Lily that he didn't have to marry chloe. That he could be a good father without marrying her. But Lily wouldn't stay with him and probably would have lost all respect for him and left him anyway if he had not stepped up. So I think he thought he would marry her so he would have parental rights to the baby and then divorce her but Lily continued to tell him to stick with it for the baby's sake. So was his mom and mrs C. Cane ultimately had the choice and he chose to keep his promise to Phillip rather than out himself to keep Lily. Who he would have lost anyway after she would have learned the truth. And he definitely would have lost his family. So he would have ended up with nothing just like he has now. |

Philip the 3rd who showed up IS the same actor who played him 20 years ago. The whole s/l is confusing, but I knew Cane was a fake from day one. |

Quote NANAL: Philip the 3rd who showed up IS the same actor who played him 20 years ago. The whole s/l is confusing, but I knew Cane was a fake from day one. If our Monday show is pre-empted because of Michael Jackson memorial/funeral I will be pi$$ed off for sure! Hope some of this helps...and Nina is the same actress from long ago also. Be prepared to be less than "Thriller"...if you are EST it will be preempted! I will be less than THRILLED also unless there is something to bite into..depression and alcoholism isn't enough reason to leave your wife and son and allow them to think you are doead for 20 years. And Cane....to what do you owe your life to PC III to actually lie to his entire family and others - especially Lily - pretending to live a dead man's life who is still alive and lieing to her having put her through so much anguish over Dehlia's paternity and more.....you were so convinving.....why did you do it? Lots of orphans want a family but do not do what you did and affect so many lives - and not in positive ways - to get it. What is it that both you and PC III are hiding? |
