Quote sj77: Neil has definitely fallen from grace in my eyes over that Tyra mess, but one thing has nothing to do with the other. He cheated on his wife. It happens. Lying about who you are and deceiving a family that was wrought with grief over a death of a loved one is way over the top. Hiding blood, etc. I mean seriously, can you really compare what Neil did to what Cane did. He has every right to rip into Cane and to defend his daughter. It's his DAUGHTER!! What do you expect? For him to give him a pat on the back and say it's okay that you lied to my daughter about who you really are, deceived people into thinking you were a Chancellor, and broke off an engagement to my daughter to raise a baby you knew wasn't yours, all to protect P3. GMAFB. For Lily's situation, it's not just about the scheme, it's about the fact that he gave her up to raise a child that wasn't his. He put P3 and the scheme before his "love" for Lily. That's sort of unforgivable. When he fell in love, he should have told people the truth. But he decided to be loyal to P3 over Lily. How anyone can defend that is beyond my comprehension. Wrong is wrong and sin is sin. No wrong is worse than the other. They're the same. Neil is wrong and Cane is wrong but we are humans and we all want to be forgiven for the things we do. Why should Cane be any different? He is remorseful and very ashamed of his actions. When we make mistakes we should own up to it, which is what Cane is doing. But self righteous Neils acts like he's never made a mistake (Neil Winters thinks he is perfect). If I had to choose between what Neil did to Karen and what Cane did to Lily, the obvious choice would be Cane. Say what you will about him but there is absolutely now doubt that he's crazy in love with Lily. He has always treated her well and he puts her on a pedestal. How many times have Chloe said that he thinks Lily is perfect. She is his world and his life. The same can't be said of Neil. Neil didn't love Karen, he used her. Before Cane's lies were revealed everybody commented on how much he and Lily were in love, and especially how much he loved Lily so tell me now that he is in the dog house, they are doubting his love. That never changed. |

I think yes lilly should be grown up enough to handle her own affairs but sometime overprotective parents do interfer. My only thing with Cane is .. he was so very tough on Amber and he wasnt even a Chancelor..He knew it when he got there .. did he just do that so that he could get into the family ? That stinks in my book..Everyone has given him all the best and he wasnt nice to her especially at the end. Kinda like turn about is fair play...NOw he knows how it feels |

That never changed. Please. That's just like saying stealing is the same thing as murder. Clearly that's not the case, that's why there are different sentences. Hence the difference between manslaughter and murder in the first degree. The sentences are different for the two charges because one is intentional and the other is not. Neil has made mistakes, but he didn't intentionally set out to hurt and deceive Karen. Yes, she was hurt, but his actions weren't malicious. Cane intentionally deceived everyone involved. And if you want to be technical about it, what he did was AGAINST THE LAW, punishable by up to five years in prison, for switching DNA samples etc. So spare me the melodrama about wrong is wrong blah, blah, blah. Neil has every right to lash out at Cane, because it's his DAUGHTER for goodness sake. She doesn't even know who he is, and how could she. He's been lying for years. And that's not even the worse part. He destroyed their relationship because he was trying to protect Langley/P3. If he was so in love with Lily, why would he have given her up to continue to perpetuate a lie. because of his loyalty to P3.....? yeah that's a husband I would want. someone that puts others before our relationship. Lily is a grown woman and she needs to face things as such. Neil calling her his baby is ridiculous. It's okay for Neil to support Lily, but she needs to make her own adult decisions. Neil's actions come off as crazy and very possessive. |

I think it's funny how people are trying to deflect attention from the real issue, by focusing on Neil's response, which was perfectly normal as a parent. |

We can't fill up all the holes that are in this storyline. That would take forever! We need to remember this is fiction when trying to go back and figure out why and how something happened! |

So what if he went a little overboard, which I don't think he necessarily did, that's not the issue. The issue is that Cane is a jackazz. A Jackazz that Lily will forgive and is in love with!!! |

I don't doubt she will. I actualy like them as a couple. But wrong is wrong and Cane's going to have to do a lot to get back into her good graces. It just bothers me that people are defending him. Take the title of this post....."I'm on Cane's side. But there are no sides. Cane isn't trying to defend himself. He knows he was dead wrong. So how can anyone be on anyone's side. The only side is the right side, and Cane is not on it. I don't knock ppl for standing by him and saying he's still a good guy. He probably is. But he's still wrong, which is all I'm saying. Bringing Neil into the mix is deflecting from the real issue. |
