I have been watching Y&R since the very first show, I forget a lot of what happen. Wouldnt it be great for Y&R to turn this soap into a noval that you can purchase yearly and keep a history of all that happen. I would buy it, just to go back and read it again and remember how the characters got to where they are today and see how some of them actually were introduced to the show. What do you think would you buy it?

Good idea! I would rather sets that ran 10 years per set or a Collector's Edition for the first 30 ears on DVD. Everthing else is sold..I Love Lucy..the Honeymooners and other classics. Never saw a Soap available though.
Guiding Light should make this long running Soap available from the first episode to the last.

I agree about GL, with the soaps that are brining back alot of the old characters it would be fun to read up on why they left in the first place and who was who back then. Y&R is also bringing in old characters.

There are several Y&R books already published. You can find them at Amazon and Ebay, prices vary greatly.

"TYATR" - 14 paperback books, from the beginning of the show till the time Niikki and Victor meet and her transformation from stripper to a fashionable woman. The novels are written from the shows scripts, but no dates or years are written to give one a timeline of events.

"Cooking With the Young and the Restless". The cast members give some of their favorite recipes and it tells about different places in Genoa City.

The two coffeetable books are:

* "TYATR Most Memorable Moments" - it has beautiful full page photographs of different events. Stories about the families, love triangles, couples, friendships, enemies, and social issues.

* "Special Silver Anniversary Collector's Edition" - Storylines from 1973 to 1998, the family trees, behind the scenes & production, weddings, Genoa City and the actor's pages.

They need to publish another book from 1998 to the present time.

No! First of all, that info is already all over the internet, and you can read it for free. Secondly, a book will never be able to tell you everything about every character -- not even if updates were published yearly -- some information will be left out. Thirdly, even if they were to publish some sort of Y&R encyclopedia, it would be huge and expensive, and would take up too much space. Just look up what you want to know on the web. That's why it's there!
