I have watched this show since the day it aired....hardly missing an eppisode. For the first time I have found myself FF over most of show....started with that crazy chipmunk story line and has gotten more and more FF and less and less viewing. All these DNA test results..true oh wait a minute the 15th one shows it is not true...his baby or not oh I should I'll lie and say it is his again....PLEASEEEEEE. This used to be top of the line Soap with believable story lines. Sure we had crazy villans and love triangles but we have no solid story lines anymore just too many things going on at once. I can't believe the show is not losing viewers. We keep wating for the stories to be resolved.........land that plane Lucy and get it over and move on to some quality storylines as in the past.

I agree that the storylines are a tad "out there" lately. However, after watching my dvr'd y&r everyday , i watch my dvr'd B&B and see a huge difference. You complain about Y&R , give B&B a whirl. Now thats ridiculous.

With the utter stupidity going on on these soaps, it almost makes you wonder if there's some sort of conspiracy to put an end to all soaps or something! hahaha! We all watch the soaps for the drama, suspense, mystery, romance, etc. We all know and expect that the storylines are going to be farfetched. These are all reasons the soaps entertain and intrigue us. However, how much more can we take with some of these storylines? The Nick/Sharon/Phyllis/Jack back and forth/switcheroo. We've all had enough of it. They've carried it too far. The writers have pushed it so far that these characters are being hated by so many fans. The multiple DNA storylines...don't even get me started on that topic! I can't argue the comment about B&B either! I have watched the show since the beginning. The Taylor/Ridge/Brooke triangle rates up there with the Nick, etc. scenario. The fans have had ENOUGH!!! Pick a couple...put them together for more than 1/2 an episode and leave it at that! These stories remind me of high school. It's like watching these adults act out as if they are on 90210! We need to have some of the stories have just a HINT of something believable in them. They exaggerate medical and legal stories to accommodate their farfetched stories...they treat the audience like morons! It's getting worse and worse. Pretty soon I'll be one of the fans who totally calls it quits, too. I have watched Y&R, B&B (Capitol prior to that) and ATWT for YEARS. I have watched General Hospital for even longer. I truly like some of the characters who have been on these shows for years. I've grown up with Lily on ATWT. She's like a friend...hahaha! Maybe the characters are what keep us tuning in...no matter how upset we get at the direction the story goes...we are loyal to some of the characters, I guess. ??? I'm about at my limit though. We watch for entertainment...whether it's to laugh, cry, feel happy, etc. Once the frustration takes over and seems consistent day after day after day....more and more fans are going to hang it up, call it a day and read a book, watch Lifetime, run errands or not bother using the DVR...or like me...use the DVR and then not bother to watch the same old recycled hogwash storylines that keep being thrown at us. Some changes need to be made or we will see more shows taken off the air like Guiding Light and others before it. Years ago I loved Sunset Beach. The vampire storyline on Port Charles probably helped do that show in. I like to read and there are some absolutely terrific authors who come up with storylines that are creative and different...they shock you and amaze you as you read the book. Where are writers like that for the soaps?? I think they can do better than the "who's your daddy? Oh, it's him...no, wait...not him, it's him...no, wait...oops sorry...it's someone else" storylines as well as the constant couple switching that I mentioned previously. Yawn!!! If these writers can't do better than that, then they should be replaced!!! Someone on here posted that they think their 2 y/o grandchild could write better and it's probably not too far from the truth!! Many fans post storyline ideas on here that are clever and DIFFERENT! Hello writers...wake up!!!

I think a first grader can probably write a better s/l than who they have for writers at the moment.

I empathize with you but the story lines have gotten "slightly better". HOWEVER, I am tired of them treating Lilly's character as the resident house slave. She is always apologising after she argues with someone in the show and it is never reciprocated. While I am happy to see African Americans on the set, they have been relegated to furlough status. It is no wonder why Dru left the show. There is always tragedy after tragedy to the point that you need a sedative to numb the "pain". Even though this is fiction, the subtle undertones of the early 1900's era are so very present. We need more diverse writers who could select viable story lines other than foster care and incest (Devon secretly lusting after Tyra).

you said it perfect, nikkinak.

bridgette/nick/owen/jackie?? come on? but thats another board.

anything that entails Victor , Nikki, Jack are good storylines. I understand the whole AA character need. However, give these actors a good storyline to work with. Bryant and Kristoff are great actors.

I believe they would have replaced Dru already to enhance the Winters storyline, but.... they are holding out hope that VR eventually will return. (fingers crossed)

I too was a loyal viewer. When I read Sharon was going to change her mind yet again...made me decide not to watch the show for a while. I'll read the board on occasion to find out how some of these ridiculous SLs play out.
