The Young and the Restless - MESSAGE BOARDS

After watching today's episode of Y&R it is becoming obvious to me that the writer's are doing a terrible job. There is no way that Y&R will be up for a emmy nomination with all the gross and twisted plots I have been watching lately. It seems to be getting worse. Most of the characters disappointed me today.
SHARON- going to the hospital chapel talking to God was upsetting to me because she showed no respect for Nick and lied to Jack about being the baby's father. Jack does not deserve to be lied to. What kind of human being talks to God and tells a huge lie to someone who really loves her minutes later?
BILLY- Has no care in the world if he would be the father of Sharon's baby.
MARYJANE- Don't get me started on her. she is a sick and evil character that deserves to be killed off immediately.
ADAM- The writer's turned this kind boy upside down. Extremely grossed out knowing that he slept with Rafe and called Heather over right away to sleep with her. Hard to believe that Adam could be the son of Hope. I understand he has a lot of hatred for Victor but did the writer's have to turn him into someone who is sick and twisted. Planning to kill his father could have been evil enough.
VICTOR- No surprise here! His only concerned is Ashley and his dead unborn child. Very disappointed that he did not go to the Hospital right away after he heard about Summer. Didn't seem like he cared too much about Summer.

ITA! No emmy for this ridiculous daytime show this year and from the spoilers coming up it won't get any better. I have been watching since i was in High School and am 36 now. I barely watch one episode a week, if that. I already stopped my DVR from recording B & B, Y&R is next. Trust me.

Well said! Their brains are fried and it seems like it's just a band of monkeys cranking this tripe out. Unless the CBS/Sony execs step in give the writers a wake-up call - better yet, just FIRE Hogan Sheffer - the ratings are going to go into a free-fall - and it will have little to do with the fact that it's summer, when ratings traditionally generally go down anyway.

Given the upcoming spoilers, I hope the show drops like a rock in the ratings. Sorry, but I give no allegiance to any writing team that makes a mockery of the characters so many of us have watched for decades. If this doesn't change FAST, I relish seeing MAB & Co. suffer the same fate as LML and her crew.

It makes you wonder what the actors/actresses think about the storylines that are forced to be involved in. I would think they would be fed up with the writing like the fans are! Where is the creativity? Where is the originality? If I was a writer, I would be curious what fans think of the stories I write and I would read the message boards and LISTEN to what the fans are saying. I would take pride in my work! What is wrong with these people? It's very frustrating to fans. It's downright maddening! It's no wonder the actor who played Adam walked away. These storylines are HORRIBLE! The back and forth relationships with Nick/Sharon/Phyllis/Jack! It's like high school! The sick storyline with Ashley's pregnancy. All the DNA testing going on. There really is very little going on that can peak one's interest. Most of the storylines seem to be putting everyone off! There is so much potential, but the writers keep recycling old stories and the new things they do come up with aren't worth watching either! There is so much potential with Katherine and Murphy, Chloe and Billy, etc. They bring back old characters like Raul, Nina and Phillip...get the fans hopes up and then it's a huge let down! I think the writers are watching Jerry Springer to get their storyline ideas!

I feel the same way. I am so upset at the stupid story lines. It seems the writers think that all of the viewers are a bunch of idiots and they can just ruin all of the characters because they can't think of anything else to write and we will still love the show....WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! Those of us who have been watching the show forever know quality script writing. I used to be on the edge of my seat all the time but not now. I can't count on anything to be as it seems. Are these scripts being written while the writers on "lunch break" because they do not seem to be thought out very much. I can't describe how disgusted I am right now with the show. And why "kill" he characters off and bring them back as ghosts. Are we watching a cartoon? Stop making everyone on the show and the viewing audiance nuts. Are the writers a bunch of teens making minimum wage or something? COME ON.LGET IT TOGETHER!!!!! Or does it not matter to you that a lot of Y&R fans are very upset!!

These arrogant writers better wake up soon or lose their fan base to other soaps. Victor, Jack are both intelligent and should give them a slap and wake them up. Get real. Everything going on is just not believable. You can have drama without crossing the line. They crossed the line on this Adam thing. I dont blame him for leaving.

The soap is beyond ridiculous...It is more like being in the twilight zone...
