Salma Hayek will head to Mexico this summer to begin producing and starring in the independent comedic movie “La Banda”. The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. and the plot will involve a type of music known as Grupero. Hayek will portray a wealthy housewife whose husband leaves her and is forced to take on a job as a wedding singer. The laughs will surely flow as Hayek’s character tries to hide her new found career from her friends and family while it also gains in popularity. Hayek has proven that she has a knack for producing and delivering some laughs with the smash hit television series Ugly Betty.
