Betty watches the news coverage of the fashion show in disbelief that this is happening to someone that she knows. She explains the difference between a transsexual and a transvestite to her father. She rushes out the door to work and speeds past Walter...barely acknowledging him. Ignacio tells Walter that Betty is just really busy with work. As luck would have it, Betty arrives at Mode and shares the elevator with Alexis up to the office. Daniel goes to visit his father in jail. He tells Bradford that Claire spent the entire weekend with Alex. Bradford insists that he is innocent and that he needs Daniel to focus on running Mode.
Claire shows up at Mode to see Daniel, and he is shocked that she is so happy. Daniel gets furious when she starts to show him all of the dresses that she has purchased for his sister. She tells Daniel not to worry about Bradford because he didn’t do this. Daniel becomes worried when Claire insists that the family is finally coming together. She is thrilled that Alexis is alive....either as a man or a woman. Daniel assigns Betty the task of looking after his mother. Betty looks up and sees Walter walking around the office looking for her. She tells Daniel that she will look after Claire and rushes to gather her things. She grabs Claire and tells her that they are going to the spa. Betty gets nervous for her first time at the spa. She starts with a mud bath and then she and Claire head over to the massage table. The two of them seem to bond and Betty insists that Daniel and Alexis do have one thing in common....they both love their mother!
On the way home Betty tells Daniel that it is not too late for him to be there for Alexis. They pull up to her house and she sees Walter standing there waiting for her. Daniel tells her that it is much harder to avoid people than it is facing them. Betty sits with Walter and tells him that he has meant so much to her.....Walter leans in and gives her a quick kiss. He tells her that he has seen this coming for a while and that he has taken the job in Maryland. They both agree that they are going to miss each other very much. Henry puts a Wicked t-shirt on Betty’s desk to get her excited about the show. He goes to the elevator and is shocked when the doors open. He asks the girl what she is doing there!
Walter tells Ignacio that Betty is being really distant from him lately. Constance stops by with groceries and tells Ignacio that she is her for personal reasons....not business. She gives him the less than half full box of chocolates that she was going to give to her boyfriend. She rushes into the kitchen to make gumbo while Walter tells Ignacio that he should just tell her to leave. Ignacio insists that he can’t upset his case worker. Walter says that the only thing to do then is to get Constance back with her boyfriend. Back at the show, Daniel approaches Alexis and asks if they have met before. Marc calls Amanda and tells her that she is in on the annual design scheme since he has to stay with Wilhelmina the entire time. Amanda rushes off to find the items they need. Henry tracks Betty down and gives her a smaller Mode logo shirt that will be more flattering on her. He then gets up the nerve and asks her why she never returned his call at Christmas time when he left a message about wanting to watch Rudolph with her. When he tells her that he left the message with Hilda, Betty runs off and tells Henry that she is going to be an only child soon! Betty finally finds Hilda in the salon doing the models hair. They argue and spray hairspray at each other while a model sits in the chair between them. The model lights up a cigarette and her wig catches fire. Betty has had enough and fires Hilda!
Betty’s recollections begin with Walter stalking her. She's walking down the street and he pops out from behind a sign. She turns and confronts him, telling him to leave, but he insists he has a gift for her. She tells him she doesn’t need anymore batteries, but he holds up a universal remote. Betty rolls her eyes and tells him that they only have one TV. Although she pleads with him to leave her alone, he insists that he’s going to get her back. She begs to differ. Not by stalking, and she reminds him that he cheated on her. She tells him, “I don’t care what you give me, there’s no winning me back.
She goes to see Maria at the pharmacy. Maria tells her that Ignacio’s prescriptions will not be filled until the investigation being conducted about him has been concluded. Betty explains her father’s delicate condition, but Maria's hands are tied. Betty senses Walter behind her and turns, yelling at him to put the product back he is holding and get out, saying, “you don’t have feminine itch.” Without the money needed for the medication, Betty turns to leave, spilling the contents of her purse all over the floor. Maria leans over and sarcastically says, “Can you blame him for cheating with Gina Gambarro?”
Betty is walking along the street, followed by Walter, and she begs him to go home. She enters the pharmacy and shows her bag to the girl behind the counter.
In the tunnel archway of Mode, Oshi’s models strut their stuff. Everyone is intent on the fashions, except Wilhelmina. She’s more interested in whether or not she has been invited to the dinner. She turns and asks, Daniel who promptly turns her down. His plans for Oshi are a one-on-one dinner so they can get to know one another and discuss business. Oshi rejects his idea in grand style, leaving Daniel with a disappointed look on his face. Betty enters, and Daniel sidesteps away to meet her, with the whole modeling thing still going on in the background. She tells him that Henry is meeting with his father, but Daniel wants to hold them off. Now that Oshi has indicated that he expects to be treated royally, Daniel is seeing a need for Wilhelmina. He can’t envision his $300 feeding fifteen people. Betty still argues; she doesn’t want him to give up without a fight. Marc comments on one of Oshi’s creations, round, white and minimal, and gives Betty an idea.
Betty and Walter are at the Christmas party for the store where he works. They have their photo taken with Walter's boss and his wife. The wife of Walter's boss tells her that she used to work in Manhattan too, but they're Queens' girls and this is where they belong. Betty stares at Walter and his boss with a less than enthusiastic feeling. Betty asks the woman when she knew that her husband was the one. She just knew; when did Betty know Walter was? She's not sure yet.
Betty gets home and wonders if she's doing what's best with her life. She shows Hilda the photo of her with Walter. Hilda says that she should appreciate Walter more. Within moments, Walter arrives with her last present. Henry calls but Hilda tells him that Betty is busy and throws away the message that he leaves with her. Walter tells Betty that he's trying to understand her life in Manhattan, but she feels cold and it becomes clear to her that she doesn't love him.
