BIOGRAPHY
America Ferrera portrays (the leading role) Betty Suarez in the new ABC primetime drama Ugly Betty. Betty, unlike America, wears braces and is portrayed as being an unattractive woman.
Ferrera began her acting career in 2002. She made her debut was in Real Women have Curves. She was awarded with the Best Actress Award for her portrayal at the Sundance Festival. Her other television credits include CSI and Touched by an Angel. He initial interests in the entertainment industry was taking part in plays at local theaters and schools.
