BIOGRAPHY

Beckin Newton portrays Amanda (the magazine reading receptionist) on the ABC primetime drama Ugly Betty. Newton began her entertainment career participating in numerous plays and musicals. She studied in other countries that include Europe and South America. She has a degree in European History from UPENN. It was later when she moved to New York City that she began appearing in television commercials. Her television credits include Charmed. Law & Order SVU, and American Dreams. Fans of the hit CBS soap Guiding Light may recognize her for her work on that show from 2003-2004.
