Lori Wilson just did an interview with Kristian Alfonso (Hope), and Kristian shared a few teasers with her! "Hope may be offered a higher position." (Editor's Note: I know more but am sworn to secrecy by the show!!) When discussing the fallout of Bo suppressing evidence for Philip, she said, "I think Hope makes an arrest soon." Monday August 25: Daniel and Kate get close, while Kate rants about her part in Philgate, the cover up! Chelsea notices. Caroline lets Victor have it, about his part in Philgate! He's not welcomed in the Brady Pub. Ol Victor feels bad and apologizes to Bo for all of this. Bo and Hope beg Roman for time to solve the Hollingsworth mystery. He gives them 48 hours to find out if Hollingsworth is dead or alive. Trent meets with Nicole and says he feels bad when she's unhappy. She tells him to go to hell! Esther is stunned to see that her daughter Kate has turned up calling herself Chloe! Nikki tells Victor that he means too much to her, she can't just leave him there! But Victor insists that he wishes to stay 'dead'! AMC Rant Week of June 29 - July 3: There was a good mix of drama and comedy this week on All My Children, but I could do with a little more romance. Let's take a look at the week: Taylor/Brot/Tad: Just an observation, but it seems as if they really rushed the break up of Taylor and Brot. One minute they're engaged, and five seconds later she's headed out to dinner with Tad Martin. It seems the writers really are pushing this match up - and while I think it has potential, I really wish there had been a more realistic breakdown in the relationship of Taylor and Brot. David/Krystal: What was she doing kissing him at the gravesite? Krystal is pretty honest about the fact that he sucks her in, I guess, but I'm still glad Marissa called her on it - as it was sort of hypocritical. Also, why would she bring David to the Martin house with her - ever? I found that very strange - even if he was just dropping her off - why would he come in? Yeesh. Marissa/JR/Babe: I'm still having trouble with Marissa as a character, so it's hard to get interested in her as a love interest for JR - but they may grow on me, you never know. The scene beside the grave with Babe appearing to JR was good, but I remember Alexa Havins as Babe. What did you AMC regulars think of it? Adam/JR/Scott: Although I felt Scott's anger at Adam and JR was justified - he felt they were letting Stuart down with their decision about Chandler - having him run out of the company and go sulk at the Yacht Club made him seem like a bit of a doofus - anyone else? The Baby Scheme: Well, I'm loving seeing the softer side of Liza as we see her behaving maternally - it's good when they develop all sides of a character - especially when it's a recast. Tad was hilarious dealing with the baby, the cop, and just acting generally fed up with it all! I have to say I was on the edge of my seat when things kept going wrong as Jake tried to 'deliver' Liza's baby - pretty good stuff! As for getting away with it - no way! It will be interesting to see what twists this story will take before the truth is completely known to all parties - did anyone think it was odd that Amanda didn't recognize Liza's baby? Note: I hope something happens soon, because Amanda's 24/7 whining at Jake - as understandable as it is - is really getting to me!

B&B Breakdown For the Week of June 29! This was quite an enjoyable week on B&B! Even the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor drama interested me and I think that’s because Ridge and Brooke had something to argue about aside from Rick, such as him sleeping with Taylor. I think Ridge only mentioned Rick’s name once or twice and it was a much-needed break! My only complaint about their scenes is that Ridge told Brooke he slept with Taylor like it was no big deal. He seems to have a habit of not groveling or really apologizing; he just matter of factly tells Brooke what happened and then assumes they'll move past his indiscretion. However, I loved Brooke’s eventual reaction to his confession. It was so mature and adult and un-soap like. She actually realized that she and Ridge couldn’t be together because of Rick and that in order for Ridge to really heal from Phoebe’s death, he would need to be away from her and go back to the calming influence of Taylor and their kids. Of course, Taylor’s got those good drugs so he’ll have no reason not to be calm! While I was so proud of Brooke for putting Ridge’s needs ahead of her own, I was kind of disappointed that Taylor so readily accepted him back. He was just trying to get Brooke not to leave him and admitted he would always love Brooke and Taylor just welcomed him back with open arms. Kinda pathetic. Stephanie was even very uncharacteristically kind to Brooke this week. She genuinely felt bad for Brooke and even though the break up is what she’s been hoping for since day one, Stephanie didn’t gloat or throw it in her nemesis’ face. Instead, she empathized and consoled the woman she has hated for years. I didn’t really understand why she went back a second time in one day to talk to Brooke about it though. Brooke already left Ridge, she didn’t need to be reminded why staying away from him was a good idea.

Thoughts on the week of June 29-July 3. I don't like being negative because it makes me feel like a jerk, but sometime I find it hard to help it when it comes to this show at the moment. I'm used to convoluted plots, but it's not easy to do it and make it work. I think that's one of the problems that As The World Turns has had lately. There is a real disconnect between some of the stories they are telling them and the way that they try to tell them. All soaps go through this at different points, but the world of Oakdale seems particularly stricken lately. It's not that the stories they are telling are not traditional Daytime fodder, because they are. Returns from the dead, battling addictions, manipulative business dealings and fraud, long lost siblings and hints of incest have been the staples of the genre for the last thirty years. Perhaps that's the problem. Perhaps they are relying too much on where soaps have gone before. As the week went on, things got better, so I'll concentrate on that. "I'm not Adam anymore, I'm Riley, so get used to it," was how Riley/Adam explained the new situation to his brother. Early in the week, it was finally revealed that Riley is Adam. He was disfigured and had radical plastic surgery. Maybe this is why, up until now, his face has registered so little emotion. Only a couple of people know so far and, considering the extremity of the situation, took it with extraordinary ease. It isn't the absurdity of this plot that bothers me, it's the execution. This plot has been a disaster for weeks, largely because it has been so superficial. It wasn't eased into, it wasn't given much psychological depth and it wasn't given any tension. Even Ellen Dolan's truly impressive performance hasn't been able to save it so far. But once the first hurdle was behind them and the riddle of Riley was revealed, I could sense that something changed (hopefully). Once the peak of the plot was behind them, things gelled a little more. The scenes between Riley and Casey finally didn't feel so forced and they actually seemed to have a relationship. I didn't care who Riley was, but now I am actually interested in what he will do.

Restless Rant Week of June 29 - July 3: Well, things really exploded this week on The Young and the Restless! With the exception of a couple of storylines that aren't doing it for me personally, the show was great at times this week! At the end it almost felt like a sweeps week! I actually felt things - I laughed and cried - some of that balance I'm always yapping about came back into play, and it makes such a big difference! Here we go ranting and raving: Sharon Paternity Fiasco: Other than the hilarious look of relief that washed over Billy's face upon hearing the news, there was nothing good about Sharon choosing to lie about the paternity results. I find this to be a very odd choice for the character, Sharon, who was finally getting back on track a little. It seems like a contrived plot-twist to drag out this quadrangle even more - which already exhausted viewers' patience long, long ago. It simply doesn't make sense - with all of the guilt Sharon already claims to feel - for her to compound that even more by lying to Nick, Jack, Billy, and Noah! Even in the sometimes twisted logic of soap operas, this doesn't work - Sharon witnesses Nick's pain, and decides that the only thing to do is - cause him more pain?! Help me out here! Why can't Nick be there for Summer while expecting a child with Sharon? Tyra/Neil: I hate it when I can see the writers' agenda in the storyline. Neil has been completely into Tyra, and loves Ana, but now, out of the blue, after Devon imagines kissing Tyra, Neil suddenly and inexplicably cools off toward her? It is so obvious where the writers are going with this - someone has made a decision that Devon will have a thing for, or with, Tyra - so now the entire Winters family will have to behave out of character to accommodate that plot-point. Never mind that viewers still haven't taken to Tyra and Ana, or the fact that most are totally grossed out by Devon wanting Tyra, the writers will push this plot-driven mess regardless. Daniel/Amber/Jana/Kevin: While I love the little scene with Kevin pulling the cell phone out of the chocolate cake, this storyline continues to be dull. And why aren't the Feds hounding Victoria Newman, who was also in the middle of this? Because JT told them not to?! Just asking. Mac/Billy: As I told a colleague this week, I have actually made a concerted effort to lean forward and pay close attention during Mac and Billy's scenes in an attempt to feel something - but to no avail. Really, though, it shouldn't be that difficult - by this point the electricity ought to be leaping off the screen at me. All I'm going to say is that I hope it doesn't go on for long, and that Mac doesn't start flip-flopping a la Nick Newman - I couldn't bear it. Victor/Mary Jane: How funny was it when Victor discovered the stuffed kitty in her room? I hope this means he's onto her in some way - it would be disappointing to have the TGVN duped by Adam and Mary Jane at the same time! Katherine/Jill: I have to mention the scene where Jill gave Katherine a mini-stroke - such good scenes showcasing the stress that both characters were under with the questions surrounding Cane. It was also interesting how they both had a moment of closeness with Cane before the bomb dropped. It's such a roller coaster with them, such a classic rivalry. I'm thinking that the news about Phillip might bring them closer for a time. Jeff/Gloria/Victor: Blackmail Victor? Really? Jeffrey is a lot of things, but he's never been remotely close to stupid enough to attempt to blackmail Victor Newman - even greedy Glo knows it was a futile and foolish thing to try! It will certainly be interesting to see how Jeff handles Victor's refusal to deal!

He may still appear sporadically as Dr. James Warwick on The Bold and the Beautiful, but if you wish to see more of Ian Buchanan, then check out his new film, “Make the Yuletide Gay.” The film made its world premiere at the 19th Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film and Video Festival on May 17th and continues to tour the film festival circuit. “Make the Yuletide Gay” is about gay college student, Gunn, who returns home for Christmas break, but keeps his sexual identity secret from his parents who try to fix him up with his high school sweetheart. However, Gunn’s boyfriend, Nathan, turns up which forces Gunn to decide if he’s ready to come out to his family. The movie also stars Adamo Ruggiero (“Degrassi: The Next Generation”), Derek Long ("3-Day Weekend"), Gates McFadden (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”) and Alison Arngrim, Nellie from “Little House on the Prairie!” For a look at the film, check out the trailer below. General Hospital - General Hospital's Natalia Livingston in West of Brooklyn on DVD!

Aside from the other projects we’ve already reported on, Natalia Livingston (Rebecca, GH) has a movie coming out on DVD called “West of Brooklyn.” The film is a fish out of water story, about an Italian American street kid, and closet beat poet, who joins his friends in L.A. after the death of his mother. While on the west coast, he meets a rich girl from Beverly Hills (Livingston) and a famous Bronx poet, who help him face his true identity. The film also stars Ronnie Marmo in the lead role (who will join the GH cast on July 9), Balthazar Getty (“Brothers and Sisters”) and Joe Mantegna (“Criminal Minds”, “Godfather III”). “West of Brooklyn” is a 68 Cent Features Production and will be released on DVD on August 18. The kid can talk, so isn’t Nic concerned that he’ll mention seeing his mummy when he’s home with his dad? EJ could have started to wonder what was up when Nicole reminded Johnny to keep their secret! This doesn’t bode well for Nicole and we won’t see this storyline explode until closer to December. After all, this is the summer of the younger crowd! It’ll be that much worse for Sami when she learns Nicole wasn’t on her side at all but letting her see Johnny out of guilt for the whole baby switch and Grace’s death. Mel and Philly: Melanie is still learning how to keep her yap shut tight. She let on that she was concerned about Stephanie, and when Philip asked what she was concerned about, she clammed up. I don’t think this was done on purpose. I think Melanie is getting used to being a good girl, but she has to learn she won’t make any friends if she keeps blabbing that way. She was really sweet to play matchmaker with Bradianna this week, which I found adorable. Them? Not so adorable. I’ll explain more about that in a bit, after we chat about Philly more. Philip met Daniel, after he spoke with Mel about Stephanie, and asked the doctor why Stephanie was taking the prescription drugs. How presumptuous. Not only is this up to Stephanie to tell him but Daniel’s her doctor and can’t discuss this with Phil. Daniel’s not even the original doctor who prescribed them. Boy, Philly’s got a lot to learn about women. Good luck. As I eluded in the past blogs, Steph dumped Philip and it’s a good thing, all around. Don’t you agree that Melanie – I’ve said this before, I know- makes a better woman for Philly, considering they feel the same about so many things? Sure, Nathan is cute and more her age, but I can’t help but hold out for a Mellip – Phelanie pairing. It didn’t work out last time but things have changed and it’s a possibility. Bradianna: I do want to see them date, and I do like Mel’s matchmaking but I’m really, really tired of the bumping into each other. This week, they bumped into each other …. A G A I N. This is no longer cute. It was cute once, maybe twice but now it’s annoying and redundant. I’d like us to move on from the boy meets girl, boy bumps into girl, girl gets mad, their hands touch while they pick up the contents of her handbag and fall deeply in love while they think they hate each other Hallmark format.

Fitzgerald (Yvette, GH: NS) crossed over for a medical storyline. *Sandra Hess is the actress who plays Karpov's attorney Sasha. She will be on screen the week of August 18. *Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing) has a two-week vacation to NYC and the Bahamas. On screen, his character will be taking Molly on a trip. *Dr. Russell Ford (Richard Gant) has died on GH: Night Shift. He will be appearing on GH in flashbacks, however. *Vanessa Marcil (Brenda) update: Bob Guza clarifies that GH is "pursuing" Vanessa to return to GH, but thus far it's not a done deal. He says that he can put her back on the show asap as soon as she indicates that she's ready. He has her storyline ready and waiting for her, in fact. *Kristin Herrera (Lourdes) and Rolando Molina (Sal) were introduced on July 23rd (in recurring roles relating to Johnny's story line.) Herrera has been on Zoey 101, Without A Trace and ER. Molina will appear in a yet-to-be released drama movie called "Skinned". *Ilia Volok has accepted a recurring role as a Russian mobster named Karpov who first appeared on July 18th. *Rick Springfield returned to General Hospital for three months on July 8. *Dominic Rains (Dr. Leo Julian) has left the show to explore other options. What's more, after an extensive casting call, the role will be replace by none other than his younger brother, Ethan Rains. *GH: Night Shift will include last year's cast mates including Kimberly McCullough (Robin), Jason Thompson (Patrick), Sonya Eddy (Epiphany) and the newly recast Dr. Leo played by Ethan Rains. *Ingo Rademacher (Jax) clarifies that he's not going anywhere (not even on vacation !) until perhaps in December. He will take a week off in August when his baby is born, but the scenes will be pre-shot so we don't even know he's gone. *Kin Shriner's Scott Baldwin returned on June 24. *Kent King (Lainey Winters) has been bumped to recurring status. *Antonio Sabato Jr. has been cast as GH's Jaggar Cates on GH: Night Shift. Also coming back to Port Charles is none other than Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) Look for him to appear on the third episode! *Tamlyn Tomita (ex-Lilly from "Santa Barbara") began her recurring role of Giselle, Kate's competitor, on May 15th. *Rosie Malek-Yonan has been cast for her first daytime role. She will play Farah, Leyla's mother and her first air date was June 9. *Tony Geary (Luke) will return from his annual vacation in mid-September.
