Serge appears at La Boulaie, with a gun, announces that Cole isn't who he said he was then demands that Starr and Todd get on their knees! Todd distracts Serge, and Starr runs, but two thugs bust through the front door - and Serge informs Todd that Starr and Hope are leaving with them! Todd is then knocked over the head, as he begs Serge to let Starr go, but Serge grabs Starr and sends his men upstairs for Hope! When the house phone rings, Serge smashes it… when Cole calls Starr's cell, Serge ends the call then aims his gun at Todd, who is trying to buy their way out of the situation, as he tries to send a text!

Just then, Shaun appears and shoots at Serge! As Todd struggles with Serge over his gun, it goes off - and Todd is shot in the leg, but Shaun assures Starr that Todd will be fine. Starr begs Shaun to save Hope, who rushes upstairs, then Todd and Starr are again attacked by Serge from behind! Serge beats Todd to the ground and smashes a vase over his head!

Upstairs, just as Serge's thug is taking Hope from the crib, Shaun appears and stops him. However, as Shaun goes to rescue Hope, the other thug shoots Shaun down then takes the baby!

When the men come downstairs with Hope, Starr screams for her baby, and her dad, who is beaten unconscious to a pulp, and is shocked to hear that Shaun is dead! Suddenly, just as Serge and his thugs take Starr and Hope to the door, Shaun appears, with his gun drawn, but Serge shoots him in the neck! Shaun falls to the ground, and Starr and Hope are led away…

John and Fish storm into campaign headquarters to find only one of Lowell's campaign cronies, who informs them that the mayor is at The Palace for the mayoral debate.

At the mayoral debate, David and his crew begin taping Viki when Dorian and the mayor arrive - then Dorian introduces Lowell as the man who is going to make Llanview clean again. The mayor and Viki shake hands, on a good clean fight, then the mayor suggests when he wins that Viki come and work for him - as his secretary! As everyone takes their seats, David is forced to sit next to Dorian, who admits that she'll always love him, then the debate gets started.

Lowell goes first and talks about how he plans to clean the police department, saying, "It's time for Bo to go." David briefly blurts, "Hey, that's my Pa you're talking about," but the mayor continues and promises to clean up the drugs in Llanview then bashes Viki - and her other personalities!

Viki is next and states her case to prove that the crime rate has risen since the mayor's term, and as Viki addresses Lowell firing John, John appears in the back of the room - and David is excited to have a new character, saying, "The camera loves him."

Talk turns back to the police force, and when the mayor starts bashing John, John approaches the stage and places him under arrest! The mayor starts throwing out threats, but John has Fish play the recording of the mayor putting the hit on Cole - which also proves he's behind the drug ring! Everyone is in shock, as John states the situation then has Lowell taken away, who leaves John with a threat - that Cole is probably 'seeing the light' right about now!

David joins Viki, with his congrats, as her family gets excited about her becoming the new mayor - and Dorian screams, "No comment," to the press, as they ask if she was aware of the mayor's misdeeds!

Marty arrives at the station to hear that Brody's been working for John - and that Cole was almost killed! Cole fills Marty in then hopes that Starr is okay. Marty wants more details, and Cole finally admits, "The mayor, he wants me dead." Marty is shocked, as Brody and Cole explain the details, and wants to take Cole out of town, but Cole refuses to go anywhere - not until he knows that Starr and Hope are safe! Suddenly, John calls, and after Cole says he can't get through to Starr, John informs that he's heading over to Dorian's now!

Shortly after, John and Fish arrive at the mansion to find Shaun lying in a pool of blood!

In a warehouse, when Cole keeps calling Starr's cell, Starr begs Serge to let her talk to Cole, to tell him that she and Hope are okay, but Serge reminds her, "You and your brat are far from okay!"

Down in the jail, Nora and Tea trade barbs, until Nora claims Tea is becoming as disgusting as new boyfriend, Todd! Over talk of what Tea did to Rachel, Tea admits, "I didn't mean for it to go that far." Tea tries to address Nora's righteousness, but Nora reminds Tea that she's a mother - and Tea is not - and she has no idea what it's like to see a child in pain! "I'm sorry, Nora," Tea says. "Believe it or not, I know how you feel." With Tea's back turned, Nora can't see the tears in Tea's eyes but asks how Tea could possibly know how that feels. Tea pleads, "I'm human," then apologizes again - promising to apologize to Rachel as well. However, Nora claims that Tea is dead to her!

In the park, after Rachel breaks the kiss, she turns around - but then kisses Greg some more! Once she breaks the kiss for good, Rachel walks away, wondering what she's doing, as Greg stops her and says, "I was way out of line, I am so sorry." Rachel reminds him that everything he said about her was true, but Greg finishes, "You are so much more than your past." Though Greg reminds her of their attraction, Rachel refuses to 'get to know him further' - because of Shaun! Rachel explains how Shaun is out, right now, trying to sweep her off her feet, then wonders how she'll ever be able to face him after their kiss.
