Danger awaits Brody and Jessica, Natalie and Rex come across a lead on Jared and Roxy gives Kyle a warning...
Rex arrives back in the motel room to inform Natalie that some of the early-shift workers knew nothing about Jared but that he has yet to talk to a few of them. Suddenly, an employee appears at the door with a photo of Jared, claiming he was at the motel yesterday, until he saw the cops! The man talks about a computer he let Jared use, causing Natalie to bat her eyelashes and ask to use the computer as well! The man goes to retrieve the laptop then brings it to Rex, who finds out that Jared is on his way to Napa, California - to the first vineyard that Nash had!
In Michigan, before Brody goes to see his sister, he calls to check up on Jessica, who tells him about the call from Nash. Though Brody reminds Jessica that it couldn't have been Nash, Jessica agrees but can't shake the fact that it was Nash's voice. Brody wants to return to Llanview, but Jessica hears Nadine's voice and tells him to stay and help his sister. Brody hangs up with Jessica and heads into Nadine's house, screaming that he can't help with her money issues, claiming he needs to go back to Llanview. However, Nadine tells Brody their mother's house is about to foreclose, and she needs him to stay for a week - and testify at the hearing! Though Brody finally agrees to help her, he says he'll be heading back to Llanview but will return for the hearing. Nadine acts as though she's okay with that, but while Brody is taking another call from Jessica, telling her he'll be catching a flight home as soon as possible, Nadine breaks a pencil in frustration! Nadine insists that Brody stay for a cup of coffee, which she drugs! Once Brody passes out, Nadine makes a call, letting someone know that Brody won't be able to get to Jessica any time soon. "She's all yours," Nadine reports.
Back in Llanview, Roxy runs into Schuyler, outside of his room, and asks him to do her a favor - to bring some Halloween costumes to Gigi and Shane.
At the carriage house, Shane wonders why his dad didn't tell his mom where he was going out of town and is upset that Rex will miss the Halloween party. After Gigi explains, she sends Shane in the kitchen to get some things ready for the party then answers the door to John, who wants to know where Rex is. When Shane comes back into the room, asking for his mom's help, Gigi follows Shane back into the kitchen - and John takes down Rex's credit card number, from the statement on the desk! After Gigi returns and claims she doesn't know where Rex is, John leaves then Gigi takes a call from Rex, tells him John was looking for him then says, "Whatever," when Rex claims he loves her more than anything.
Outside of the carriage house, John places a call to have the activity of Rex's credit card traced.
Later, Schuyler drops the costumes off to Gigi and Shane and turns to leave, but Shane stops him and asks him to wear one of their costumes, as he and his mom need another person, since his dad is gone, to help them win the best costume prize! Later, in costume, knowing Rex wanted to have a photo of them dressed up, Shane takes their picture and says, "Dad's going to love this." Gigi and Schuyler share a wayward glance.
John arrives at Llanfair and asks Jessica if there's anyone, other than Jared, who would want her to think that Nash was reaching out to her. Jessica has no idea, and just as John is about to leave, he gets a call about where Rex last stopped for gas!
With Kyle listening on, at his apartment, Amelia and Nick anticipate the upcoming rally - and the changes it'll bring. Noticing the loose button on his tux, Kyle walks out into the hallway, sees Roxy and asks for a sewing kit. However, Roxy gives him something else, some advice - that he's about to marry the wrong man! Back in Kyle's room, Amelia worries that Kyle will back out of taking part in the commitment ceremony and says, "It's time for me to put stage three of my plan into motion."
Viki arrives at Dorian's, and David, in a towel, invites her in. After briefly talking about Jared, Viki and David enter the living room, where Dorian is ranting at her stylist. Viki explains that she won't be able to make their debate, due to her family issues, but Dorian just thinks that this is Viki's last minute plea for sympathy from voters. As Dorian rants about what she'll be doing to grant everyone equal rights, Viki stands her ground then leaves - but not before privately suggesting that David tell Dorian how he really feels. Once Viki is gone, Dorian screams at David for hugging Viki goodbye then David calls her on her reaction - and asks Dorian to call off this scam of a wedding! Dorian refuses to let the citizens of Llanview down , and when Amelia arrives, Dorian tells her David's theory on marriage, claiming it should only be for people who are truly in love! Amelia gets another idea and suggests that their wedding doesn't need to be merely symbolic!
Viki comes home, and Jessica assures her that she's fine. After Viki heads upstairs, Jessica receives another call… "Jessica, it's me. I need you. You have to come to the vineyard, the first one, in Napa. If you love me, you'll come - and tell no one," the caller says.
John makes it to the motel where Natalie and Rex were and questions the same man who gave Rex and Natalie the information on Jared. The man claims he saw Natalie and Rex, who said they were heading to a place called Llanview, then denies ever seeing Jared!
