Starr lives in fear for Hope! (Soaps.com)
Welcome to Amy's
"One Life in a Week!" (September 7 - September 11)

It doesn't seem as though it's only been a four day soap week, given all of the excitement that has exploded in Llanview! Tuesday's episode was so jam-packed that I don't know where to begin, as was Wednesday's, Thursday's and so on… Shaun was viscously shot, for once Todd was the one being manhandled, Starr and Hope were kidnapped and the dirty mayor was finally arrested - every actor in these scenes outdid themselves in my eyes.

I was so happy that the show finally utilized the talents of Sean Ringgold (Shaun Evans), and for those who don't know it, Sean is a bodyguard in real life, and has protected many well-known stars, most recently Katie Holmes and Suri, so you can imagine his scenes didn't take much practice. Unfortunately, after two bullets, Shaun was halted, which led us to seeing, who I would like to call, the real Greg Evans. Again, as you all know, I was never a fan, thought he was the most arrogant SOB around, but after this week, seeing what his games with Rachel brought out, and his reaction to Shaun's lifeless body brought into the ER, the man has a heart, real feelings and I'm going to give him a chance. There, I said it! Shaun is going to have a long road ahead of him, but I have a feeling Greg is going to come through for his little bro - big-time. However, I wonder if he'll be able to bury his feelings for Rachel in the process… doubtful.

Starr was forced to face a mother's worst fear, again, at such a young age, and proved, no matter what the cost, that she'd do anything to keep her little one safe. I cringed when that thug was holding poor Hope, who was crying her little eyes out. As a mother myself, that would have done me in right there. Props to Kristen Alderson for another job well done! I must admit, at first, I expected for Cole to have freaked out a bit more, at the initial news of Starr and Hope's kidnapping, but was happily surprised to see the consistency by the writers, allowing that reckless side of Cole to go out the window, that 'act before you think' attitude, and have him become a rational father, a drug free one at that, and one who stops to take the advice of those around him.

The scene between Rachel and Tea was a bit much… one minute Tea was crucifying her in court then in the next Rachel was confiding in her about her disheveled love life. Granted, they used to be friends, and Rachel appeared grateful, in some strange way, that Tea's actions in court made her finally see the light, but really, what is it with Tea… Either she's one heck of a great lawyer, who wants to keep her business and personal relationships totally separate, no matter what she does to 'her friends' in the process, or she's borrowing one of Viki's personalities and feels as though her tear [yes, those never-ending tears] will make everything all right. Speaking of Tea…

Are any of you convinced that Tea is hiding more than her marriage to Ross - maybe a child as well? At first I thought, yeah, she and Ross had a child, but what if Tea led Ross to believe that her child was his - when all this time it's been Todd's? That would be a whopper, all right, but I have to believe that's the key to her secret - since the show, or shall I say Blair and Nora, have hinted to Tea 'not having any idea what it's like to be a mother' repeatedly over the past couple of weeks. Nice storyline twist, bad way to let the cat out of the bag… If this is indeed the case.

Kim helps Stacy plot some more! (Soaps.com)
Just when I thought we'd get a Stacy-free week, the pregnancy dilemma made another appearance. What was once a front burner storyline is trying to push out the main course and bring the heat back on its burner again. At least Gigi is finally getting a hint that Stacy may not be pregnant, but don't count Stacy out just yet - or her little roll in the hay with Fish. We're also going to see Rex step up in his game of poker with Schuyler… He may have given Gigi the okay to keep the resident rehab counselor as her BFF, but he's definitely not through staking his claim on his woman!

Ross had me in stitches during the plane ride back to Llanview, trying to get close to Blair, sneaking a whiff of her hair/perfume while she stole a catnap… I know nothing can come of these two, romantically, but like I said about Gigi and Schuyler, I wouldn't mind seeing them turn the heat up a bit - and indulge in a one-nighter. They're both hot, and together, I have no doubt they could deliver a steamy scene for the fans!

For those who missed my interview this week with Llanview's former Will Rappaport, you can still catch up with Jason-Shane Scott in the One Life to Live News Room. Also, stay tuned, as I'll be interviewing Shenell Edmonds (Destiny Evans) and Mark Lawson (Brody Lovett) soon!

Thanks for stopping by again this week! Please feel free to vote in my poll about this week's best scene and share your thoughts on the show's storylines below. If you want more soap scoops, follow Soaps.com's Editor-In-Chief on Twitter @soapoperafan and add me on Facebook!

Great Rant Amy. I'm w\ ya on Skanky and the Brain s\l. They made Rex look like a donkey today. He is not a very smart P.I. Those two strippers played him like a violin and he went along w\ it. Most guys have the since to ask when is little fish due. No not Rex. I don't think the writers are listening to us fans we don't want to see Skanky and the Brain anymore. The week would have been an awesome week if they wouldn't have shown Skanky,The Brain, and Rex. I used to love Rex but not now. The writers have made him unrecognizable. He is now the village idiot. Every village has one too. I think Rex is the leader.
Poor Starr and Hope got put in a bad situation b\c of Dorian (I can't keep my mouth shut even if you would have sown my lips shut) and don't forget Todd. I see why Todd did it but Dorian did it for all the wrong reasons. I thought Cole would have been a little more shook up also. But he did keep his cool until he saw Ashter or whatever his name is. I thought he was going to kill him. I can't wait til Monday to see what happens.
I feel really bad for Brody. I hope he is okay. I didn't think Brody would be the one to save Starr and Hope. I thought it would be John. The writers surprised me on that one. John always seems to be the one to save the day. I'm glad just this once it was somebody else.
I hope the writers put Blair and Ross together. Ross is hot. I could see him w\ Blair instead of Tea. Blair should be spending all her time on Ross not Todd and Tea. I agree w\ you Amy that Todd and Tea have a love child somewhere. Really I don't see the big deal w\ her being married to Ross. Todd would get over that. But if she has his child and he doesn't know about it watch out Tea.
I felt so bad for Shawn this week. Rachael was getting ready to break his heart and he got shot. I'm sorry but when Shawn was rolled into the hospital and Greg saw it was him and he started crying I was crying w\ him. Maybe the writers are trying to show that he is not a bad guy and that he still loves his family. I loved what Destiny said about her Shawn being her ride everywhere. That made me want to cry to. Well Amy have a nice weekend and can't wait til next week.

OLTL is my favorite soap. This is my first time leaving a comment. The scene when Shawn told Rachel he loved her before going into surgery was very touching. I hope this makes Rachel realize what a good man she has found in Shawn.
The look on Dorian's face was priceless when she found out about the mayor and realized she blew Cole's cover. I hope Starr never forgives her for that one when she finds out. And the scene when David was talking about John being the lead character in his show was too funny and congratulating Vicki on beating the mayor (more or less) I love it when these 2 are in any scenes together. They bring out the lighter sides of the show. Any scene with David will keep you interested.
Brody.. what can I say. He really looked hot in the wet suit, not to mention the fact he was a real hero!
I also agree that we have had enough of Stacey and Kim. Who does Kim think she is keeping Rex and Gigi from coming into HIS own apartment and talking down to Gigi like is nothing. What's up with that! She and Stacey taking over is a bit much and franctillay is getting to be a bit nauseating. Rex is not much of a PI these days; Gigi seems to be more of one than he is. Gigi's next move should be to tell Rex he really needs to confront Stacey about the pregnancy test and see how she gets out of that one. Knowing Kim, she'll say it was hers and by the way Rex has been acting he will believe it. They have turned his character into someone weak and hardly recognizable, and I have always been a Rex fan. I felt so sorry for Starr and Hope, but i was glad to see them get away unharmed. Thanks again Amy for posting your thoughts for the week. I look forward to it! BTW, didn't John look HOT when he was walking up to the warehouse!!! Whew...

Thanks for the blog Amy, ranting at it's best. This week was a good week in Llanview. But just when you think it's safe, up pops The Las Vegas Strippers! I crossed my fingers hoping not to see them again, but a lass, it didn't work.:( Other than that things were smokin this week. Hope Shaun and Brody make it and Greg and Rachel don't break Shaun's heart.
