Monday, June 04 2007

Dena Higley fired! (ABC)
Get ready fans, things around Llanview are about to change! One Life to Live's Executive Producer Frank Valentini has announced that he's fired Headwriter Dena Higley and opted to immediately replace her with Co-Headwriter Ron Carlivati!

First coming to the show as a writer's assistant in 1996, Ron has exhibited high merits, which took him to the top after also working as a breakdown writer. It is said that his commitment and contribution alone makes him the perfect choice to take OLTL in a new direction! Although the Powers-That-Be weren't available for comment, fans can rest easy knowing that Ron's passion is to bring the best characters and storylines to OLTL supporters everywhere!

Without mentioning names, I can assure you that the fans aren't the only ones unhappy with the current storylines - even some of the veteran stars have voiced their disappointment in Dena Higley's work. So, what does the change really mean for One Life to Live and the citizens of Llanview? Well, with Ron Carlivati at the helm, you can bet our favorite daytime soap will be filled with more twists and turns to keep us coming back day after day!

Soaps.com wants to congratulate Ron on this huge accomplishment! We look forward to seeing your work adorn the screens and wait with anticipation for what's to come next!

I have to say that I'm glad to hear this news! I've been watching OLTL for as long as I can remember and the storylines have never been this terrible! I had actually given up on the show and haven't watched it in months. Guess that it will be time to start tuning in again.

Since Todd is missing, now would be the perfect time to bring back Max. With a new writer, the opportunities are endless.

I'm sorry to hear that Dena was let go vs. leaving on her own.

Although - the storylines as a late have well - sucked, so her departure is good news - I just wish it was on her terms.

Good luck to Ron - we're a tough crowd to please

Congrats to Ron. I look forward to seeing his work. OLTL has been in trouble for too long. And now I'm Hoping that Super Couple John and Natalie get the story line that they deserve. We have waited to long.

i just want these storyline to end and I don't care who accomplishes this. I am sorry that Ms. Dena is out of work, but hey, she had some very very long long storylines. Though this doesn't impress me because a few weeks ago, I heard that there were new writers to the soap and still boring.

gGood luck to Mr. Ron. I hope he can salvage this soap opera because it is going down hill.

It's about time! Sorry to say but Dena is a terrible writer and I'm glad to see her go. OLTL changed from my all-time favorite soap into one I totally refused to watch (still read the updates). Hopefully, the new head writer will bring back the super couples we all want to see - like John & Natalie; Clint & Vicki; Todd & Blair and even Dorian & David.

Why is everyone trash talking Dena Higley? Every other soap opera has at least one bubble brain writer, people are trying to make a living, and they can't please every darn fan at once. I for one, was very upset to learn of Dena Higley's firing, she was a great writer, I think.
