|
Susan for Outstanding Lead Actress! (ABC)
Same Day Update: The Younger Actor/Actress Nominations just came in and, sadly, none of our actors were nominated... On another note, the show was also nominated in the following categories: Lighting Direction, Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing, Outstanding Original Song for "We All Fall Down," and Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control.
Previously Reported:
Soaps.com blogged live today, as the
36th Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations were announced, and we are happy that some of our
One Life to Live actresses made the cut - as well as the show's writing and directing teams, which were nominated in the
Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team and
Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team categories!
For
Outstanding Lead Actress, Susan Haskell (Marty Thornhart) made the list for her return to the show during the front burner storyline that is still going on now – with Marty having lost her memory and having been forced to face a life that she no longer remembers. This is Susan's second Daytime Emmy Nomination for the show!
In the category for
Outstanding Supporting Actress, Bree Williamson (Jessica Brennan) received a nomination – and we can only assume it was for her storyline surrounding her character’s D.I.D. sickness, as well as for the scenes from Nash’s death, which still make me teary-eyed whenever they are revisited! This is Bree’s first Daytime Emmy Nomination!
I have to admit, though I'm ecstatic that the actresses were nominated, I do think that Bree should have been in the Lead Actress category, with Susan in the Supporting Actress one.

As you know, Kristen Alderson (Starr Manning) and Farah Fath (Gigi Morasco) were
pre-nominated for Outstanding Younger Actress, as well as Brandon Buddy (Cole Thornhart) and Eddie Alderson (Matthew, Buchanan) for Outstanding Younger Actor, but those nominations won’t been announced until tonight at the
36th Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Party. Stay tuned, as we’ll keep you updated when they are released!
Soaps.com wants to send our very best to Bree and Susan for their Emmy Nominations, as well as wishing Kristen, Farah, Brandon and Eddie the best of luck with their nomination results tonight!
Be sure to tune in on August 30, on
The CW Network, where the Daytime Emmy Awards will air this year, to see who takes home the awards! Not only will we be blogging live during the event, but Soaps.com’s Editor-In-Chief Christine Fix will be there on the red carpet and during the show in order to bring our readers the firsthand scoop, news and interviews!
